The curry goat and chicken brought enough heat and was very tasty. The dinner is accompanied with white rice, vegetables and cabbage. While waiting for my dinner, I had a ice cold beer. This place was freaking delicious. We got a handful of items. Jamaican oxtails dinner, ackee and cod fish, beef patty, conch fritters, brown stew chicken, and a fried shrimp basket. Great price for what we got. The oxtail was so tender that the meat just fell off the bones. Beef patty was soft yet firm. So good. The cabbage, rice and peas were all great too! Stopped in for a quick bite and I ordered the jerk chicken and a ginger beer. The owner was really nice and made us feel welcomed. The jerk chicken was tender and it had good flavor, but the spice was not noticeable which was unfortunate for me because I like spicy jerk flavor. I think the ginger beer was more spicy than my chicken. If it had a little kick I would have enjoyed it more. I have not been to this restaurant in many years because it is very far from where I live. Today I decided to take my girlfriend to try it again since it had been so long. The only thing I could remember was that the food was very good. After walking in, it was completely different from what I had experienced. The inside is now beautiful and more comfortable and resembles more of a sit down restaurant. On certain days of the week they also have a live dj there now. The inside may have changed, but the food remained the same. Both of our dishes were absolutely delicious, which left us wanting more. We also had the fried plantains that were delicious and we especially recommend the Red Velvet cake. Will be coming back very soon. read more

I usually don't back track and leave a updated review but I was super disappointed at my order this evening. Caribbean food warms my soul, the mix of the cabbage, rice and peas, jerk flavor with those sweet plantains all in one bite take me away. I won't even order Caribbean food unless they have plantains that's just how much of a necessity they are to me. Tonight I received the most shriveled up, driest, burnt plantains I've ever looked at and immediately I didn't want anything that I ordered. I also orders fried Mac N Cheese BITES and received a fried block of dry macaroni instead. My jerk shrimp was disappointing as well and I guess they ran out of cornbread because I received regular bread without warning. I will say the macaroni and cheese was good after I warmed it up and the jerk shrimp flavor wasn't bad either. If it were free I probably wouldn't complain, but I spent a pretty penny on this order and more food that isn't in this review and I most likely won't be coming back here for a long time. read more

This little corner Gem nestled in a stripmall landscape had a very modest entrance greeted with a big smile by two lovely Jamaican hosts made us feel right at home. As a family who has indulged in Caribbean food for years from New York to all points in between the storefront dining digs smelled the part , we order a conglomerate of island delight I ordered the Jerk Shrimp we with cabbage and rice and beans, my wife ordered the grilled wings with rice and beans as well as cabbage, mom had the fried shrimp with plantains and rice and beans and my daughter went in all the way with curry goat, oxtails rice and beans and the grand son had ordered chicken tenders and fries. And we must say this took us back home to Ocho Rios the jerk shrimp were delicious and peppery to the point it brought a spice hot flash the oxtail and Goat were tenderlicious And flavorful the portions were adequate and the selection of ginger beer cola champagne and pineapple soda made this jaunt across the inlet worthwhile. We were looking for seafood after church today. I've been the strip center often for dry cleaning but have never been in any the other shops. Despite the name the restaurant is Jamaican and specializes in jerk chicken, conch fritters, catfish, curries and many other popular dishes. The friendly owner was a chef at another restaurant. He said they may start having breakfast in the future. We wish we had room for the beignets! It is located in the strip center across from Ace Hardware. We've passed by this place several times until that one weekend, we were feening for some seafood, plus the fact that the name of the place was Mad O "SEAFOOD", so what the heyyy. But stepping inside this place, we smelled Caribbean cooking. Seafood just happens to be some of the dishes they serve. Game changer.   The place looks to be a family-run business. The wife and I met Chef Dolly and her family. Talking more with Chef Dolly, she not only cooks the food, but she also create custom health-based dishes for diabetics, people with seizures, etc. Pretty interesting and impressive to say the least. She really knows a lot about food, spices and herbs and how they can help the body.   So after looking through their menu, our seafood idea was place in the back burner.   We instead ordered: Brown Stew Chicken Jamaican Curry Goat   First off, we came in just in in perfect timing as Jamaican Curry Goat was just finished cooking. It felt like that dish and I were meant to be. Folks, that Jamaican Curry Goat was really delicious. It was nicely spiced, which was Indian curry. Goat meat was nice and tender....BAAAAA'd to the bone (no pun intended). It Jamaican me eat more and more. And if you like some spice with your dish or food, then this is the one for you.   But if you want a nice subtle dish, then the Brown Stew Chicken is not a bad choice to have either. This is food made with heart! Small restaurant, chef owned, pumping out some flavorful dishes! We stopped in not knowing what we wanted, Chef came out and gave a few suggestions. We ended up with: Brown stew chicken- served with sautéed cabbage (love!), rice, and plantains...it was all delicious! The chicken was bone in thighs ( I think) chopped up and mixed with veggies in a stew...it had a delicious rich flavor like maybe some cinnamon or something unexpected in it that gave it a great flavor. Fried fish plate- lightly breaded tilapia, (not fishy tasting), served with fries, and cabbage Meat patties- puréed meat in a flakey pastry shell aka hand pie...very good not too spicy I love restaurants where they are passionate about food, and this fits the bill. read more

I was jonesin hard for authentic Jamaican food and I've read this place up on Yelp and said why not- it's in my 'hood and I don't have to brave the traffic to go to Star's on the Westside or the other spot in Springfield (both spots equally worth a visit too!)
