Over priced for portion. Ordered an Ackee and salt fish, paid extra for provisions as my side and Got mostly provisions and a pot spoon of ackee and saltfish . Keep in mind this is the jumbo plate. Same portion If is gotten a regular but they're claiming it's being "weighed"

My Go to spot for Jamaican food in Jax. Love the revamp that they did to give the restaurant a more modern vibe My go to is their oxtails and rice and peas w a beef patty and coco bread and a med pineapple/sweet tea lemonade Oxtails are always nice and tender w/ meat on the bones not just fat.. plantains are nice and sweet wish they were cut a little thinner Patties are nice and crispy on the outside meat seasoned and tender in the inside Pineapple/sweet tea lemonade is to die for! Service was top notch, (better to call in your order) they even helped me to my car with my food because i was on crutches

Quick service and plenty of clean tables for dine in. The Jerk Pork with beans/rice was excellent and very filling. Plantains finished it off nicely.

Got an absolute feast from @spices_jax Caribbean restaurant. The amount of food you're given is easily enough for two, maybe three meals. A regular combo gets you one meat and two sides. A jumbo, two meats and two sides. So we got the regular beef stew combo with yellow rice and fried sweet plantains and a jumbo combo of oxtail, curry goat, white rice, and sweet plantains. We also got a side of mac and cheese. Everything was fantastic. The curry goat in particular was excellent. Just a touch of heat that kind of starts in the back of your throat, tingles up the back of your spinal cord, massages your cerebellum for a bit before landing in your cerebrum for the duration of your bite. The oxtails were meaty and tender. And I love that they give you enough sauce to drench the absolute unit of a serving of rice you get with your combos. The mac and cheese is great and topped with what appears to be an entire block of cheese. Tasty to be sure, but a bit on the greasy side. Overall, a great little spot in Arlington that everyone should check out.

Curry Chicken Express lunch (rice and peas, plantain)

They've remolded and I love it. The staff is super nice and the menu boards are clear concise and colorful. I ordered online and was almost tempted to add things on once at the counter because the food on display looked so good. I ordered the lunch curry chicken with plantains and rice and peas. I've been here before so I know the food is good but oddly enight the curry didn't have any real ummph for me. It was regular. That's not what I'm use to with curry. I also ordered a curry shrimp patty. It was very hollow. Still good. But I expected more filling.

Oxtails, beans and rice and steamed cabbage. Wow!

Great food, clean and always so flavorful! I love their food. I would highly recommend this place.

Curry Goat

Had the curry goat, red beans and rice, and cabbage combo. Got a coconut water on the side. Goat meat were medium-small in size. Flavor was definitely there. It was spicy and very well rounded curry flavor. Serving size was good! Ambiance was good, bathrooms were clean. It was counter service and then you can sit down inside and eat. Counter service was good. Made it efficient. I would come again. The only criticism I would have is to try to get bigger cuts of goat meat so there is a better meat to bone ratio. Delicious

I tried this place while waiting for my flight in Jacksonville. I hadn't tried Jerk shrimp before so that was something I had today. I also tried their island punch. The food was pretty good but it could've used a bit more seasoning. All in all it was okay.

So inviting in here!

Spices! I've had their oxtails before.... leftovers shared by a friend. Needless to say it was not memorable then. I decided to stop by and get my own oxtails and I'm glad I did! The oxtails are melt in your mouth soft. I would prefer it to be a little more spicy but it's got good a kick to it.. maybe I have to order it a special way? Still delicious! I've had my fair share of Jamaican food in Jax before, I frequent Island Tropics for my cravings and prior to that my go to was Eva's Jamaican Kitchen. Even though it's all Jamaican I've found subtle variations between the oxtails and I can't really pinpoint my favorite gravy yet. Oh gravy. I could drink gravy. I'll deal with self induced hypertensive migraines later. I will say that Spices gravy is a little bit on the sweeter side. I really like the flavor of the meat already and that extra gravy is just what I needed to drench my rice in. Ordering was super simple, I was able to place mine online and pick up within 30 mins. When I walked in, the people behind the counter were very friendly and helpful. I was able to get my order right away. There's about 4 people in the front so things are smoothly run even though there were six people ahead of me. This was a great find today! I love their food and can't wait to try other items!

I was in the mood for some food with a *kick*. I looked up "Jamaican food near me" and the name "Spices" practically popped out of my phone screen. I placed my online order of jerk chicken, yellow rice, and cabbage, started my car, and didn't look back. Upon arrival, the parking lot was packed with cars. Luckily, my order was just about ready for pick up so I didn't have to wait for my meal. I checked in at the pick up order counter and glanced around the restaurant. The house made desserts such as cheesecake, red velvet cake, and a wide array of others were on display in a big glass case for all to see. The dining space was very big, bright, and open. And before you know it, my order was ready and the woman who presented me my order opened the box to give me a sneak peek of my meal to make sure everything was correct. It was, and so I got in my car and zoomed back so I could dig in. I'm sure you're already convinced by the pictures I showed you, that this chicken is incredible. I mean come on, look at that glaze! I know you wish you could take a bite through the screen, or even just get a whiff of the spices......The meat is coated in that classic jerk flavor we all know and love, it was cooked "low and slow" making the meat slip right off the bone. It's potent with spice without actually being spicy. Certainly, there is a kick to it, but it's nothing a child can't handle. Besides the chicken, the smell of the atomic veggies lived up in each bite, and the rice was deep in its flavor which was a great base for the star of the show. Spices Caribbean is the place to be, the staff is welcoming, the food is classic, and the mobile order option makes it easy for you to grab a quick meal on a busy day (one that doesn't leave you hungry.) if you somehow have an appetite afterwards however, I would recommend trying one of their smoothies or desserts. There's always room for something sweet!

One of the best places for Jamaican food. The oxtail is always on point - well seasoned and falling off the bone tender. Always ask for extra gravy! Same with the Curry Goat and Curry Chicken. I've been here many times and never had a bad meal. I can also recommend the brown stew chicken. I will say the service is not always with a smile and there can be a bit of a wait - anywhere from 5-10 minutes. That said, I still love the place. I've never dined in, but they do have seating and that option as well.

I came in straight from work, got 1 plate of jerk chicken and some Pattie's.... Wound up taking another plate home so the family could enjoy as well. The restaurant is got an island vibe with some island music playing in the background (not to loud, but just enough to finish the vibe of being transported with every bite. I swear... if this place was beachfront or like it's own standing building with an outdoor tropical place... you would definitely think you got transported. It's super clean including the bathrooms. The owner is filled with joy everytime I saw someone walk in/leave. My server was Lucy (she's also a bartender there), if you go.. ask for Lucy (she work the later part of the week), tell her Trisha recommended her With the quality of food, the cleanliness of the restaurant, the amazing service that I received today... this place is going to be a neighborhood favorite without a doubt!

It was clear that delivery orders were being prioritized over in-person diners, which is unacceptable. Despite having ten staff members behind the counter, the service was remarkably slow, and the manager on duty appeared to lack the necessary training in operations and staff management. (5/22/26 afternoon) Furthermore, the quality of the food was disappointing. The jerk pork was dry and the jerk chicken did not meet Jamaican standards. Additionally, after being informed that my original side order was unavailable, I was inappropriately asked to pay an extra fee for a replacement. I strongly recommend that they re-evaluate workflows and prioritize walk-in customers. Customers should never have to wait for meals, while Stars prepare Call-In Orders. Folks, avoid this restaurant and choose another restaurant that values its customer. TEN staff working behind the counter are incapable of serving customers within ten minutes.

There was island music playing in the background to set the vibe, along with a map of the Caribbean at every table. My jerk chicken came out quickly and was delicious. The plantains were the perfect consistency, which is important to me because some places dry them out. I asked for a side of pepper sauce and it's quite hot, so consider yourself warned! While I was dining, the owner, Peter, came over and was chatting with the patrons. The ladies at the next table clearly knew him well, and I love that there are local relationships at the restaurant. It was fascinating hearing about his transition from the finance industry in Trinidad to being a restaurant entrepreneur! I only wish I had had had space to try the rum cake.
