Java Saga is a great little spot for some quick bites! They offer delicious Taiwanese food, such as popcorn chicken and lu ruo fan, and drinks, such as teas and smoothies. There is minimal seating inside--just a few stools that stand across a small bar table. There is also some tables to sit outside the shop as well. I ordered their Chick Bits and Loaded Fries. I LOVE their Chick Bits, which are also their Taiwanese popcorn chicken. It is seasoned very well and the meat is very tender inside, especially when eaten hot. The sauces that they provide to dip the Chick Bits in are super delicious as well--I personally like the Boomin' Mango Habanero. Their Loaded Fries were also good and they were topped with cheese, bacon bits, chives, and various sauces. However, I thought they were a bit too salty, probably because it was loaded with so many toppings. I have gotten their Exotic Fries before which is just fries with their "exotic" seasoning; it is very simple but easily satisfies the stomach! I got the Chick Bits and Exotic Fries combo, came with one side of sauce and a bottled/canned drink. Food was delicious, nicely seasoned. Only two negatives really: The cashier was clearly more interested in whatever was on her phone than taking orders, we had to stand in awkward silence for a minute while she scrolled. She was very nice and knowledgeable otherwise, answered the few questions I had about the menu without even having to think about it. An extra sauce cup, ~2oz of sauce, is $1 each which feels insane. Came here on a friends recommendation for lunch on a weekend. Was in search of a really good chicken sandwich place around my area and was highly rated. This Taiwanese chicken sandwich place is really a hidden gem in Doraville. Staff was friendly and helpful in choosing entrees and sides. Went during peak lunch hours and there wasn't much of a wait at the time. Ordered the ABC sandwich combo ($16) with fries and drink. my goodness this sandwich was hefty as it had a generous amount of slaw and a well seasoned chicken piece. The chicken was extremely tender and not dry compared to other chicken sandwich. The slaw had some mixed apples that were diced and it works surprisingly well. The restaurant opened up mid July and is located in doraville. Ample amount of parking spaces but there is not a lot of seating at the restaurant there is outside seating and a small bar area inside the restaurant. When I saw this place was named "Georgia's Best Chicken Sandwich 2024", I had to check it out! It was only a 5-minute drive from my place. Fast forward one week, and I have visited this place at least 3 times over the week. Food - easily the best fried chicken sandwich I ever had! And yes, I had Hattie B's and other Nashville hot chicken. I would recommend not to go past the "Spicy" spice level. Anything beyond that can be a struggle. The sandwich also comes with Coleslaw as one of the toppings, and it's delicious! If you don't like buns, try the Chicken Strips. It's the same chicken but without the bun. Java Saga is finally back! And this time, with their own cozy store front with plenty of parking spaces. There's a small drink and condiment bar inside as well. Fortunately, there is outside dining tables, where you eat among well maintained flowers and plants, it's very refreshing. The prices and menu has been tweaked a little, but the food is just as good as ever, with many of the favorite menu items returning. We ordered the chicken bits (their take on Taiwanese chicken nuggets) and the abc chicken sandwich. The chicken is well breaded and fried to a crispy perfection, and the Asian slaw on the sandwich had a nice fruitiness to it. Oh, and the portion sizes are HUGE so it's always a great value for the price. Service is awesome. The owner is super friendly, and will even join you at the outside dining if he has free time. I was dying and needed a caffeine boost after a heavy lunch. This was my first time and I expected the brick and mortar to be much bigger from the looks of the storefront. In fact, you order from the counter but there aren't tables to sit inside. They had a few outdoor tables, but I would not recommend this place for remote work. I wanted to order just a regular latte, but one of the employees asked me to try the tiger latte, which is basically brown sugar latte that she ensured wasn't too sweet. It's the most tender chicken sandwich I've ever had. It wasn't too spicy for us. They cut it in half upon request. It's right up there with the best chicken sandwich ever. We loved the fries. The Bae sauce was so good! We got it in the side for dipping. It tastes almost exactly like the garlic sauce from Pollo Tropical. If you know...you know! After reading some other reviews, I feel the obligation to mention that this is a "hole in the wall" restaurant. But the food here is seriously good and has really generous portions. We ordered: Chick bits - it was like karaage! The chicken was so crispy, but still so juicy and tender inside. I could eat these non stop. Diggity Dan Bing - the egg was nice and fluffy but I wasn't the biggest fan of the sauce. The sauce was nice and garlicky but I didn't think it went that well with the egg. Jolly Rancher - the chicken itself was yummy but this sandwich was just okay. Like in general it's a good sandwich, but if I were to come again, it's so much more worth to get the other menu options. 886 - I loved the pickled vegetables in this sandwich! It really helped cut through the heaviness of all the bread and fried chicken. Taiwan Hot Chicken Plate - This dish was my favorite. The chicken had the crispiness and juiciness of the chick bits. I'm so glad Java Saga reopened. I didn't get a chance to try them prior to opening their new location here along Buford Highway, but I've been craving some good Taiwanese popcorn chicken. It's so accessible in the Bay Area where I'm from, but I haven't found many Taiwanese style chicken options ITP. The location is in a plaza, so parking is easy. The space inside is small, and note: you can only sit at the counter with a drink. With the limited space, it makes sense to reserve the 3-4 seats for those wanting to sit while waiting for their orders. Most people I saw stopped in and got their food to go. I was running errands, so I grabbed my meal and sat outside to eat; there's 3-4 tables with chairs available. The menu is short and simple with a fried chicken sandwich, popcorn chicken, and a grilled chicken option (it could have been modified since I visited). They also have coffee and boba milk tea options. The combos come with a bottled drink of choice (the apple sidra (soda) is delicious from the fridge, but you can upgrade it to a milk tea or coffee. I really liked the popcorn chicken; it's made authentically to what I eat in Taiwan, and it has the fried basil leaves! It was sweet, smoky, and crunchy! This particular sandwich came with a slaw and sweet pickles on it. It was an interesting flavor combination, unlike anything else that I've ever tried. It was good, but I don't know if I could eat this all the time just because it's not exactly the healthiest food. However, it is good for a treat yourself kind of day. The exotic fries were not really anything special in my opinion. It was some seasoning on crinkle fries but nothing extraordinary. I am taking off one star because the wait was pretty long for our food, but they did say that the kitchen was backed up. Also, there's not a lot of healthy options and also I was underwhelmed by the fries. It is also a really small place. They have a few tables outside if you get lucky. I have no doubt the ingredients are good quality, but my chicken sandwich tasted of nothing but peppery/spicy. The sauce tasted like nothing, the slaw tasted like nothing really. The crinkle fries had a salt and vinegar type powder which was kinda weird. The white sauce was just sweet. It was all pretty flat. The pork bowl was nothing like the pictures. It tasted how I imagine old ppl smell. I had to add the sweet white sauce from the fries to give it some rounded flavor and help the shredded 4 micro-nubs of meat. Super plain and made me wish I had stayed home. The interior is not comfortable for sitting. The exterior had wafts of garbage scent flowing through to compliment the sound of cars speeding down Buford Highway. That was neat for the 35min it took to get the food.
