Like all the Javas, this is in desperate need of a remodel and revamp. They are all looking dingy and very dated. It's too bad that Todd won't improve them at all. They are in great locations and have nice people working but they just feel and look dirty. This feels like a true local hangout. The coffee and pastries are delicious and the owner is really cool and hospitable.

Fun atmosphere, and really fast friendly service! Went here for coffee and a small breakfast before skiing. Get the "Bowl of Soul" espresso drink, it is basically a mocha with Mexican chocolate and home made whipped cream. Was up in ketchum for a week and went four times. Good place for a light breakfast. Bowl of soul is good. We had various items throughout the week and was happy with all. This is a great, chill coffee shop run by a great guy who we met briefly named Todd. He was hard at work running food to the tables (which is pretty cool for the manager or owner) both busy weekend mornings we were there. But he still had time to chat briefly with customers like us. We were in town for a weekend and visited twice, where we encountered friendly staff, really good coffee drinks and food, and a chill vibe. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I ordered a iced americano and asked for the honey to be melted into the shots and they handed me the coffee with the honey not melted in. When I asked for them to fix it the girl wasn't happy to do so and snickered under her breath to the other barista "well that was a waste of an americano." Holy Bowl of Soul. I know it's been said in pretty much every review, but--wow! There was a dollop of real whipped cream floating in my amazing coffee beverage. Warning, though--it's pricy. My medium w/ almond milk was $5.41. Went back another day for breakfast, and the breakfast wasn't great. I had the confetti eggs. I also accidentally ordered a mexican hot chocolate (don't ask), and that was insanely sweet. But the blueberry muffin was very good. read more

Friendly staff, good staff, and good coffee make or break coffee shops and I am delighted by my choice in drinking here. Best espresso in town, has a rich earthy flavor without being too dark - not boring and bitter like Starbucks. The mochas are excellent. Americano is excellent. Breakfast croissant was amazing - buttery flaky fresh croissant with perfectly cooked fluffy scrambled eggs, just the right amount of melted cheese and thick juicy bacon served open face and steamy - all of this with no greasiness - high quality stuff. Homemade granola had wonderful dried fruit, cinnamon and spice flavors, not too sweet and a perfect crunch and balance of ingredients. Service is fast and friendly and the owner is there working to expedite and control quality and greet guests. They serve breakfast pretty late into the morning. Better breakfast than The Kneadery, and better prices and views, too. read more

Great breakfast selection. My favorite is the bagel with avocado and fresh ground pepper, although sometimes I'll get the chocolate chip scone if I'm feeling like something sweet. Not a chain, not part of the sun valley co restaurants, just a great local hole in the wall. My daughter loved her breakfast burrito, my eggs croissant was great. The coffee and Lates are great, in peak winter season the customers were half locals, half visitors. Reasonably priced, with fun art on the walls. Nice Staff behind the counters. Lots of good looking pastries. We are heading back tomorrow morning - highly recommended. read more

Get there early...you won't be disappointed!!! The Bowl of Soul (the regulars simply order a "Bowl") is amazing. Nice coffee, great 70s playlist, and very friendly waitstaff. PLUS, some delicious gluten free muffins, along with the usual traditional coffee shop pastries. We are tourists. So those who complain it's a tourist trap. Se la vie. We went on Thanksgiving morning at 8am, they were open. We walked in and there were only a few people seated. The ladies behind the counter were super friendly, helpful and patient with my family (two adults and a 4 & 5 year old). We had about 6 different baked goods and they were all delicious--they make them on site. I had the "bowl if soul" which was delicious and not overly sweet. Hubby had coffee which was very good. Pricing is fine, it's priced equal to your average good independent coffee shop with quality foods--that you'd find anywhere in the US. By the way, just about everyone else in the shop were locals...you could tell by the conversations they were having with the staff. read more

Visit Ketchum 3 times a year and love getting my coffee from here. I prefer to support the local coffee shops in Ketchum rather than the corporate coffee (Starbucks and Tully's). I generally get the Bowl of Soul no matter the time of year. I dislike whip cream but you cannot skip the cream here. It is so thick and delicious. Also, their pastries are beyond.
