I have driven by Java Hut a million times and then during the power outage and mandatory evacuation I stayed in Mill Valley with family and relocated my business to Petaluma for the week. Each morning on my way to work the loveliest and kindest staff I have ever encountered gave me coffee, a burrito and muffin along with a treat for my doggie, They would not accept any money because I had evacuated. Stopping by each morning became the high light of my work day and on Halloween to see the ladies in their costumes was the icing on the cake. Yes there are random acts of kindness and yes there are amazing and wonderful human beings. Thank you to everyone at Java Hut and I will stop by with some flowers as a thank you. read more

A nice local alternative to Starbucks. Convenient drive through, lots of snacks and different coffee options, and they give out dog treats! (with your permission). They have the best muffins I've ever tasted!! The blueberry is unreal. The only real complaint I have is that sometimes they have trouble with consistency, but I've found they're absolutely willing to make it right if you just ask. read more

This place is pretty disappointing. I've tried it a few times because it's close to my house any every time I ask my myself why I came here again. I order a bagel with cream cheese and get handed a cold bagel with a tiny container of cream cheese. "Could I get it toasted, please?" I ask. "We don't have a toaster." Ok...So people on the go just eat cold dry bagels with a teaspoon of cream cheese? Another time I've gone, the woman was rude and seemed annoyed when I asked what one of their drink specials was. She went on talking to her friend inside and barely looked at me when I ordered. It's bad enough that all of those times plus one or two others the coffee has been inconsistent and bland. Either too watery, too spicy or too milky. I'll stop being lazy when I want coffee and walk into a local shop instead to avoid this place. read more

Come here a lot, love all the girls at work here, my dogs love to come for their treat. That's nice because you can buy a card keep it on file, they always remember what you're drinking. I hate writing this review, I really do but this is the second time this has happened to me at this place and the sassy attitude I received from the employee was enough for me to review this place in a negative way. First off the coffee and Italian Sodas are good. Prices are fair and most of the ladies are nice. The young lady with platinum hair and a pony today was very rude and sarcastic. It was unnecessary after my explaination and concern for my wait in line for 12 minutes on a break to hear that they are closed. Even though I had gotten in the line 12 minutes before closure. I waited 12 minutes on my break to go here and instead of them when they saw us two cars online come and tell us, they let us wait! Not cool. If she would of came out and told us they didn't have enough time I'd understand. They need to cone off at 4 or right before 4. I wasn't ordering espresso either. I tried talking to the young woman and she just kept saying they are closed. My team comes here everyday for drinks and I hate to say this but after the sour taste the young woman left in my mouth we will not continue to do so. I gave this place 2 stars because their drinks are good and 90% of their staff is very friendly. I LOVE coffee drive throughs. You can never have too many IMHO. I use the EV chargers there at the Target mall :) and on my way I drive through the Java Hut and fuel up literally on the breakfast burrito and coffee. The gals there are cheerful and efficient, the line always moves along and I am kind of addicted to the bacon breakfast burrito and au lait combo I have going. Their coffee is great and their iced chai is really good as well. No matter how many cars deep the line may be, they'll walk out of the hut and take orders and have your drink ready quickly to expedite the line. My first time ever coming here. This is partly my fault...I didn't see a super faded sign saying cash only. So after I placed my order with the girl who came out to my car because there was a line. I pulled to the window and see the sign. I'm mortified I don't have cash to pay them. My total was $4.75. After digging in my wallet coming up with $4.30 the clerk says "Get out of here or give me what you have. You can come back. (Annoyed tone)" There wasn't a line behind me. My "go-to" place in Petaluma for any coffee drink. Great service, and they custom make your drink like you like. One Yelper complained about the no credit card policy. My girlfriend Leslie has been going to the Java Hut for years. We started dating and we couldn't pass by the Java Hut in the morning without stopping in for a coffee. Over time all the girls there have come to know me as they know my girlfriend. They know all about our lives and always ask how we're doing and ask specific questions about us. They have truly become friends whom we're excited to go visit for a special coffee treat. Our puppy, Toby, absolutely loves visiting the coffee girls. They've always got a treat and lots of love for him when we drive up. Each and every employee has been friendly, polite and caring whenever we visit. The coffee is good and the prices are very reasonable, even with a recent price increase. We're much happier frequenting a place like the Java Hut over Starbucks, Peets, or any other large chain coffee house. Thanks coffee girls! read more

always a skeptic, i refused to drink anything without a label. let me just say that, after having coffee here, being so naive never sucked so much. the service is fast & friendly. there is hardly any wait, even when the cars start to jam up. the drink was perfect.. but what is perfect, anymore? it was a delight. and so were the prices (this, i am starting to notice.. local home-town cafes = good coffee & good prices. big labels = good/ok coffee & higher prices..) also, java hut is extremely convenient. most of us have to jump on the freeway eitherway, and located about 1/4 mile from each on ramp, it's hard NOT to make it here. even if you are staying in town.. it's worth the visit. read more

I can't comment on the coffee, because both times I attempted to buy a cup here, I ended up driving away empty handed. The first time, I sat in line for 15 minutes, just to find that they don't take cards (they WILL take a check though...WTF?) The second time, which was about 5 minutes ago, I sat in line for ten minutes, and as other people in line started driving away in frustration from sitting in line forever, I saw that the girl who worked there seemed to be having a conversation with the person at the front of the line...because as we all started leaving, they wrapped it up and she went back in the Hut. Love this place! It's near the freeway, so an easy spot to stop on my way to work. The staff are super friendly. Sometimes it can be a wait, depending on what time you go, but they are efficient and will send someone outside to take orders (even in the pouring rain, as I have experienced before) to move things along more quickly. And the drinks have always been tasty! I haven't tried any of their food, but will for sure in the future. read more
