My review is a little biased. I'm usually a huge fan of Java day but today's take out experience was a little disappointing. I got the western omelette platter and Iced mocha latte. Western omelette - 3/5. Omelette itself tasted fine. Potatoes seemed under seasoned. It could have used some salt. The toast had a small patch of butter in the middle and wasn't spread out at all. My friends and I had a solid breakfast at Java Day Cafe. The food and drinks were very good, though the service was a bit of a mess for us. It's nothing fancy, but it's got good bagels, a very big menu, and delicious drinks! Food first: I got a Two Egg and Cheese Sandwich, to which I added bacon and ordered on an everything bagel. It was excellent! The bagel was soft and warm and the cheese and bacon both were generous. It was a very hearty breakfast that I would certainly order again. I also liked my drink -- an iced green tea latte -- very much. A friend who got an iced mocha said it was "dangerously" good and she had to stop herself from downing it all in under a minute. Now, our experience of the service was pretty disappointing. We ordered, then waited... and waited... and saw no fewer than four parties who ordered after us get their food... and waited some more. Finally I went to the counter to check on our order, and it quickly became clear our order had somehow been lost. They had to take all of our orders again, though to their credit, after doing so the food came out pretty quickly. While this wasn't a good showing for them and definitely dampened my overall experience (I get hangry, y'all), I absolutely understand that mistakes happen. I suspect that losing our order was an exception rather than the norm, since everyone else we saw got their food quickly. I'd give them another shot for sure! read more

I decided to use yelp to get a late breakfast. Java Day Café (JDC) was on the list and in the direction of travelling. It is located in an accessible location from I-295 and there is ample meter parking. Don't judge this book by its cover. The dining room is mid size and offers an attractive color scheme. The ambience was filled with a sense of serenity to help relax your state of being if you are troubled in mind. I didn't want to leave. The staff is very pleasant, friendly, and patient. The sausage and veggie omelette was DELICIOUS and cooked to perfection. I had a filing portion that didn't make me feel bloated. I also had a caramel macchiato to conclude my tasty dish. Would not recommend especially since food was nothing notable just basic omelet and hash browns. Which were severely underwhelming in flavor. The place is small like most places in the area but we had no problems getting a table at 8:30 on a Saturday morning. We were in and out in a little over an hour, service was fairly quick. I'm not a big breakfast person but enjoyed the B4 platter as it had a little bit of everything, 3 eggs, hash browns, 2 small sausage links, 2 pieces of bacon, 1 round slice of ham and 2 slices of lightly buttered toast cut in half. You can't go too wrong with a standard breakfast platter. The potatoes were small cubes, just crispy enough. We also got the strawberry cream cheese stuffed French toast. I only tried a bite. I usually like larger slices of bread for the French toast but the overall flavor was nice. The star for me was the coffee. Nice and smooth, no bitterness at all. read more

Java Day is a nice local breakfast cafe that has everything you'd need to kick off your day. I stopped by this day before heading to the airport and got an iced latte and healthy wrap to go. The staff was friendly and worked quickly. The iced latte was the perfect balance of espresso and milk, and the healthy wrap tasted delicious! Everything was served piping hot - The cheese was stretchy and there was a good proportion of turkey to everything else. I only ate half and that was good enough to hold me over until lunch time. Stopped by Java Day cafe on 16009 Northern Blvd during my lunch break and wow! Never knew this hidden gem existed. The super friendly guy at the front recommended their Frenchy with sausage breakfast sandwich so that's what I went with and it did not disappoint! The home fries weren't crispy (except for the few I managed to find) but they were seasoned nicely. The staff here works so hard and it SHOWS! I almost want to gatekeep this place because whenever things go mainstream the quality goes down and prices go up. But Java Day is my fav diner spot. I love their breakfasts, paninis and onion rings, and their sandwiches. So yummy! I'd go here any day. They have lots of options and prepare everything fresh. This place is so good I can't believe I am only just discovering it! Cheap breakfast/brunch food, big portions, delicious eggs packed with flavor and in all different varieties. I got the Cajun omelette platter which comes with hash browns and toast and my friend got the egg trap (hash browns wrapped in a pillowy omelette). They both tasted amazing. They leave hot sauce and ketchup at the table which was perfect for me. This place is absolutely perfect for a quick breakfast bite with a close friend. It's not a fancy sit down breakfast but I like that it's not because I often just wanna get my morning grub and get going. Ordered breakfast here for takeout today, and everything was great! We ordered: 1. Breakfast quesadilla It was good and fresh! However it doesn't come with standard quesadilla toppings (like sour cream, guac) or condiments (salsa) so I just ate it with stuff I had at home. 2. French toast (plain) Really good! Not too sweet. Would be nice if it had at least a whipped topping but hey the toast itself was the perfect thickness, consistency, and flavor, so I have no complaints. 3. Hash brown wrap Really heavy dish! My hungry husband ate it all and at the end said he would order it again next time 4. Coffee Simple, fresh, and good. Overall a no frills kind of place with solid food. What more can you ask? I liked this place as soon as I walked in. Very cute, cozy place with a fused design of country elements and modern recessed, colored lighting on the ceiling. In a neighborhood where the neighborhood is definitely an Asian majority, I was a little surprised to find a place with this feel. It's a pretty bold move, but it looks like it's working well, as I wasn't the only Cauc in the store, and almost all 6 tables were taken at 9:30am on a work day. The gal who was running the counter was so sweet, extremely hospitable, and friendly, I think it made the food taste better. Even the Peach Snapple Iced Tea tasted better than usual. They had just started up the fryer, so I couldn't get the Chicken Teriyaki yet (after all, it was only 9:30am, but that's how I roll!), so I went with the Spinach & Mushroom Omelet with home fries and whole wheat toast. The omelet needed a little salt, but it was very nicely done. The home fries had a nice amount of black pepper sprinkled on them, adding some nice kick. Condiments are already on every table. Someone from the kitchen serves you your dish when it's ready. The only thing I disliked, that wasn't too much of an issue, was re plastic fork & knife they gave me. I imagine they have their reasons for using them, but my preference would be to see actual silverware being used. Anyhow, somebody here definitely takes pride in this business. Well done! read more

AMAZING SPOT. The stuffed French toast and Santa Fe sandwich are spectacular. The stuffed French toast with strawberry cream cheese inside is so good, warm, crispy and not too sweet. The Santa Fe sandwich has honey turkey, lettuce, honey mustard and avocado. I will say that the pics are catfish for the sandwich, they just smear the avocado on the sandwich in a thin layer while pics show thick layers of cut up avocados.
