Great coffee shop with a friendly staff. We come here every time we come to Maui! Will not disappoint you!

Tired... groggy... out of it... I walked in here yesterday and was literally shocked (a good shock) from the coffee that I received. Staff: definitely friendly and helpful. Drink: I ordered something called "iced mocha" and it was a frozen drink... with two shots of espresso (that I asked for since I was really out of it...) DAMN... that was GOOD! It was creamy... but not to much that it overpowered the drink itself... well mixed... and the espresso was enough to keep me awake until 10 pm (considering I'm still catering to PST) Folks... definitely check them out. I definitely will be... I'm almost tempted to say that they're up to par with Anthony's Coffee in Paia! Plus I think their prices are much better than Anthony's... so definitely looking forward to the next trip out! read more

Cute place located in the heart of Kihei. I've heard my Yelper friends talk of this place so I was psyched when I finally got to go down and try it out. Local coffee joints are my jam! Here are some of my faves: *Lots of parking in the Azeka shopping center. *Plenty of seating inside and outside. *Fun atmosphere *Clean and well lit *Baked goods calling out to be purchased * Community bulletin board supporting other local people *postcards for sale I told the barista that I wanted something iced. She recommended the iced mocha with sweetened condensed milk. I let her know that I didn't want anything too sweet. She said she would modify it so it was just right. Being the caffiend i am, and being out of my element, i was scouring the streets to find a dealer to get my fix. Back home, i know exactly which corners to go to, in order to get my medicine, but here, im a fish out of water. Beautiful, brown, bitter, caffeine laden water. After dealing with a few shady folks, (comes with the territory i suppose), I finally found a new spot. Formerly the "coffee store", with a terrible local reputation for customer service, the new owners have taken it over, restaffed, and are trying to turn it around. I think they are doing an excellent job, though the reputation and namesake will be quite a hurdle. Walking in, I took a look at the menu and noticed my drink wasnt on there. I asked the girl behind the counter if they have condenced milk, and she said yes. So with a glimmer of hope on the horizon, i asked if she could make me a Thai Latte. :)) She said she dint know what it was :((( But if I told her how to make it, she'd be happy to make it for me :D Seriously? How awesome is that? So after explaining it, she said it was similar to a drink they have called the "Mainline Mocha", which is essentially a Thai Mocha. So, i figured what the heck, why not. And tried the Mainline. Holy Crap! Generally im not a big fan of mochas. Turns out, all theyve been missing is some thai. After getting my coffee, i got to talk to one of the owners and she kind of gave me the rundown on the new place. Between the friendly barrista who was willing to make me a drink off menu, and the awesome owner, i was right back in there the very next morning. I cant wait to get back there on my next trip to maui. Definitely going to be my second stop after krispy kreme. lol. Ambiance is lovely. First time here and the service was friendly but slow. There are no prices listed anywhere for the pastries (or labels). I was very surprised that an almond croissant was $8 which I asked about and was told it's because of the quality ingredients. Ok. BEWARE: The reviews posted here may be misleading. A disclaimer needs to be added to this cafe's yelp because they are giving free coffee or pastries for five-star reviews. Also the prices on here and their website are completely wrong. At the restaurant, the menu is priced $3-5 higher than shown on their website and here on yelp. Too many red flags for this place but still wanted to give it a shot. My experience: I ordered two drinks and four food items at 6:30 in the morning. I waited 20 minutes patiently and decided to check up on my food. I asked the guy and he said they're working on it, 5 minutes. I waited another 10 minutes and decided that was enough asked for a refund. I asked the lady at the cash register why it's taking so long she said she didn't know. As I was about to get my refund processed, my food came out. I decided to just take the food instead of the refund only because I waited a long time already and my wife is pregnant and hungry. The thing that bothered me the most was them having zero remorse or sympathy for making me wait 30 minutes at an empty restaurant for food. The food was alright nothing special and definitely not worth the $80 spent for four food items and two drinks. Came here 2x so far. My iced mocha was okay. My dad had a blended banana mocha drink which he said was excellent. Wish that the small medium & large cups were each a few ounces larger. Visiting Maui for a couple weeks, may come again. LOVE the relaxed atmosphere, but would have liked to see a few cushioned cloth comfy chairs that are part of modern day coffee cafe culture. Great service!! Great Chai Latte!! Wonderful atmosphere!! Wish I had one close to my home. You walk into this cute little retro java cafe and are instantly greeted with a smile and a welcoming. Then you see that this is not just some ordinary Starbucks, but a place to become entranced in a world of bistro splendor. Their menu is not too big but not too small and it fits the vibe. They have very delightfully looking deserts that instantly call your attention. I didn't have any desserts but would love to in the future. I did however have an Iced Chai Latte and an Artichoke Panini. The Iced Chai Latte was wonderful. The important thing with an Iced Chai Latte is to make it strong enough to pull the flavor through the entire time it takes you to drink it (because ice melts), but yet not so overpowering as to startle you upon first sip. Very much so achieved here. The Panini was nice, a little over priced for what it was, but nice. It had the right amount of tang from the cheese while still allowing the artichokes to come through. Latte: 2 stars Overall: 3 stars for service/environment The latte was alright. Nothing to write home about nor recommend to any fellow coffee snobs. Made with local Maui beans, the flavor of the espresso was, how should I put it, as flavorful as Starbucks lattes. It just doesn't stand out and leaves an after-taste a girl would not like to taste after I kissed her. Nor I. I will say the latte did not taste milky/water-down like a Starbucks latte. So there's a positive note. However, it was hotter than my current sunburn, leaving it almost undrinkable, and the foam was airy instead of the classic smooth, creamy layer it should be. I will however mention the Barista was new, but I sadly this is how I must base it on. Environment: Greeted warmly by the barista as I entered this cafe and ordered a latte. The cafe has a wide variety of foods and drinks. Basically they have everything you would expect in a cafe. The service was good but it was not busy at the time. I came here this morning to get an iced coffee. I could have gone to Starbucks to get what I usually get, Iced Soy Coconut Latte; but I figured I would support local business. The baristas here are friendly. They did in fact have the coconut flavor to make my drink. When they first handed me my drink, it was so dark. Sure enough, it was so bitter and strong as though there was hardly any soy milk. I couldn't even taste the coconut flavor. I did bring it to their attention, and they were so kind about it and made me another one. Second time, much better! But still the coconut flavor was faint. I told them it tasted much better, but asked if they could just add a little more coconut flavor, to which they did, no problem! :) There are also a lot of pastry choices, and I saw some panini sandwich options. read more

Stopped here on a recent visit to Maui. They have a very nice selection of locally made coffee, all different strengths, boldness and whole bean or ground. They have very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and even though some of their coffee, per pound, can be pricey, it is definitely authentic Hawaiian coffee! Coffee is great! So is the food- and they have a ton of delicious options for breakfast. We got the peanut butter toast and one of the paninis. Unfortunately service is pretty meh and they are so slow! We ordered avocado toast and it took them awhile to come tell me that they didn't have ripe avocado (so they obviously hadn't started making it yet). So we switched to two peanut butter toasts and it took them probably 20 minutes to throw peanut butter, bananas, and honey on some toast. When we checked in on it (genuinely thinking they may have forgotten about it since the order had to be switched up), we got quite a bit of attitude... and our toast seconds later ‍ so assuming it was just sitting there. My husband and I walk pass this little cute coffee shop. And my husband like special coffee(coffee) ,and go into to buy some bean to take home to California. The employee is friendly, I think one guy is the owner, he teach my husband some special technique for brewing good coffee. I know what a hard time these shops are having with staff, but on this day they seemed to have suitable help. The food was pretty bare and costly to spend $53 on a salmon bagel, waffles with fruit, 1 coffee, and two fresh juices. Salmon was three small pieces taken from the Costco salmon pack, very very thin layer of cream cheese. The waffle was cold and dry. I had high hopes from the bill that the food was going to be worth it. Staff was rude upon our order, food took a while to get, waited for the rest of our order, just to have to walk up and find that we were not charged for the other half of our order and spent another 30 minutes for the rest of it.
