As someone who often used both of those things (and had enough "burnt" Starbucks to assume I hated all dark roasts), I was skeptical. But I did it! As it turns out, dark roast can be smooth and delicious- and it really doesn't need anything! I've been ordering Rusty Dog ever since (and laughed when I asked after the particularly good coffee at Sofra and discovered it was a Rusty Dog blend). I would also like to add that the customer service is excellent. After making an order and receiving 1 whole-bean bag (I don't own a grinder and couldn't use it), I emailed and received an answer and remedy - at night! - within minutes. Incredible!

I cant say I've ever had an issue with any of them (outside of taking issue with some well publicized occurrences at locations I personally havent been to, but I digress). Every time I've been, the staff has been helpful. There has been a line and it has moved quickly. It is sometimes impossible to find parking-- that must be a trend with Starbucks locations because the Fitchburg and West locations have the same issue. "Oh, we need a location to open another Starbucks? Find us a strip mall with the LEAST PARKING EVER." I go to this one the most because it is right by my house. The most for me is MAYBE once a week because any more frequent than that would be too much money and too many calories. But delicious.

It was a cold day outside and it seems that they need to do some improvements in this place. We were freezing the entire time we were there. Actually had to eat with our jackets on! They had a space heater by our table but it put out zero heat! The place was also pretty dirty. Now for the food review...super basic and bland. Potatoes were kinda hard, omelet bland and pancakes seemed like they came out of a box. The staff was pleasant and the guy who delivered our food was very polite but unfortunately, that's not enough to encourage us to come back. We really expected more out of a place with "bakery" in its name. Super disappointing.

I wish I had stopped by later in the day for cocktails - but for now, we were here with a desperate need for coffee. I absolutely loved the nuttiness of the Pandan in a latte - I'm just surprised more coffee shops don't offer it. And the perfect offset to it was the Ca Phe Sua Da, or Vietnamese Iced Coffee. It wasn't as mind blowing, but still tasty. Next time I'm in Madison, I'm definitely stopping through for some cocktails!

This place is giving, no nonsense, here's your coffee - get it and go with a premium price.
