Mercies Coffee is a wonderful cafe on the east side of Madison. The decor is bright and inviting, and the staff are approachable and extremely friendly! Oftentimes, cafes either excel at their drinks or their food. Mercies provided both food and drinks of phenomenal quality. Their pour over and hot latte were delicious, and we enjoyed their broccoli cheddar soup with sourdough toast/cheddar biscuit. The only downside, is that when the cafe is busy, you may not get a seat near an outlet if you're working remote and need to charge your devices.

Cute/modern coffee shop near the mall. Tons of seating available inside and outside. Huge outdoor patio with heaters available as well. I got a smoothie during my visit and it was excellent! Their whole menu looked wonderful, will definitely need to stop by again to try more things. Service was also great/very quick.

I had an exceptional turkey and bacon sandwich which came with the best chicken and rice soup I've ever had! All paired with a hot brown-sugar latte. I don't give coffee shops FIVE-STARS because of their food and drink alone so it says a lot about the ambience and staff. Thanks Mercies for an enjoyable afternoon!

Mercies was certainly a hidden gem for me! I am always over there for the Princeton Club or passing by it to go to Hobby Lobby or Target. I never really noticed it until recently. I am currently studying for my bar exam as I just graduated from UW's law school and have been wanting to take this as an opportunity to try out cafes/coffee shops in the Madison area. I live on the east side so it was very fitting I start over there. The place was SO CUTE. There was a couch area with a cute little fire pit. It was not on but I imagine it can be turned on; it seemed to be electric. They get some options from Madison Sourdough for bread and I ordered a breakfast sandwich that came with sourdough bread. It was DIVINE! It was also the first time in a long time that I got a cute little design on my coffee so I loved that. I was able to get comfortable and get some studying done for a couple of hours. It was very relaxing. The only downside I have is that I wish there was a bit larger/different selection of baked goods and breakfast meals. Maybe I am just picky though. . .

Amazing cold coffee option: peanut butter cold brew! Not overly sweet and so yummy and fun! Way to up the cold brew game, Mercies.

I stopped into Mercie's while on a recent trip to Madison. First of all, thank you for being open early! It should be illegal to own a coffee shop and open at 8PM or later and thankfully Mercie's opens up nice and early on weekdays and was a great early morning stop. I ordered a cup of their dark roast coffee that was delicious and also ordered one of their breakfast toasts. The toast is a thick cut of sourdough bread and is topped with peanut butter, bananas, homemade granola and a drizzle of honey. This is a fork and knife sort of toast and is absolutely dynamite. Packed with flavor and freshness, this is the sort of toast you could eat every single day and never grow tired of it. Mercie's has a great, hip vibe to it and is the kind of place that you could fire up the laptop, enjoy some coffee and get some work done. All in all, an excellent spot! One I will certainly be back to when in Madison next!

What drew me here was their mission statement - fighting human trafficking within Madison and the state of Wisconsin. It was clean, open and bright, and felt cozy as well (there's a fireplace if you're lucky enough to grab a seat by it!). It seems like a fantastic spot for studying or catching up with a friend. The prices are just slightly above average for some of their menu items, however, the food/drink we had was delicious.

I went there this morning needing coffee! I was met with very friendly staff, and the owner! The hazelnut coffee I ordered was some of the best coffee I have ever had ( and I drink coffee!!!) my friend got the pumpkin pie coffee and she said it was beyond delicious!!! I will be putting this on my list of coffee joints every week!!! The decor is clean and stylish, blacks and white decor and the vibe is fresh. We sat outside and it was quiet and beautiful! I am impressed! The owner mentioned she is looking to get outdoor heaters so I am hoping this is one place I can go and enjoy coffee outside on a snowy day :)

Love the staff and owner! Nice local spot with coffee made with passion (other drinks and pastries). Great for meets up or just a place to collect your thoughts. Plenty of parking and reasonable prices. The location is cute and has a cozy vibe. Come check out a local spot on the east side of Madison.

    Entry

Such a nice coffee shop, lots of seating options including an outdoor patio area. I appreciated the allergy awareness & considerations-they were happy to answer my questions during my drink selection. The spiced pumpkin chai is so Delicious! Go grab a cup with a friend, great place!

PARKING: There is a decent size parking lot, so it should be easy to find parking. ATMOSPHERE/SPACE: It has a vintage, industrial, bookish vibe to it. Typical of popular cafes. It is the typical size of a local cafe, so I wouldn't recommend having too large of a party but maybe up to 6 would be okay because there is a larger section in the back. You can also reserve that room which is something you might consider. FOOD: I have tried the Turkey Chipotle & Roast Beef sandwiches, the Pumpkin Latte with oat milk, the Berry Good smoothie, the Salted Maple Latte, and their chocolate chip cookie. The menu and drinks are typical of a cafe. There are mainly sandwiches, coffee, and a small selection of baked goods (cookies, muffins, etc.) They also have smoothies if you're not into coffee. I am usually not a coffee drinker, but the lattes were just the right temperature, so they were easy to drink and enjoy. I enjoyed the Salted Maple more than the Pumpkin. The sandwiches themselves were good. Nicely toasted, fresh, simple, and flavorful, but nothing super special. The smoothie was light and had that "healthy" feel that fresh smoothies tend to have. The cookie is meant to be eaten with coffee or a drink, but it isn't too dry either, so it is still easy to eat on its own. OVERALL: The service is decent and seems to be a hotspot for locals. My first attendance (Mon @10am) was not busy but the second time was (Fri @11:30am). My wait wasn't long and it was nice to sit and work. I did feel pressured to finish quickly because it was busy, but it has potential to be a nice location to do schoolwork/projects. It is not a location I would regular since it can get quite busy and I am not a consistent coffee drinker. However, my experience was still decent and I would like to try their smoothies and other items. I would recommend giving this spot a try and see how you like it.

I dropped into Mercie's a week or so ago, while I was hungry and undercaffeinated. Immediately stepping in the doors, it was a welcoming, nice environment and atmosphere. I grabbed a latte and a few of the breakfast options (breakfast burrito and beef sandwich). The latte was so delicious, with tasty espresso! The sandwich and burrito were also tasty, with great, local ingredients (Stalzy's bread...yes!). The mission behind Mercies is also great. They are looking to bring awareness and dollars to awareness of sex trafficking in the Madison and Wisconsin area. They work with local non-profits to bring awareness to the cause. Overall, solid experience and I will surely be back!

They threatened legal action if I shared what I experienced. The email that I'm still speechless about they directly insinuated i have mental health issues - all bc I asked to speak to a manager about something that was making me uncomfortable and would make anyone uncomfortable. This entire email is the clearest example of destructive gaslighting i have ever see. I have never spoken a word to them about my personal life, I have never said a word about 'metal health issues. I was not given any opportunity to speak or defend myself. They made sure i wasnt called only emailed to control their narrative of me. I made the decision to never come back days ago. I go almost every day. I am unbelievably nice. I dont say anything besides my order and small friendly talk. I say thank you every time i get my drink and smile. I am not someone that would randomly make things up. I explained a situation that happened 5 months ago but as you can see in the email they've apparently 'looked at all the footage' and have made their conclusion in less than a day. There's no way you can go over 8 months of footage in less than a day. There's no way to make an accurate fair conclusion in less than a day. As you can see in their response they accused me of trying to make employees look bad. Here was the incident: I came out of the exit door to the bathroom and two employees had been so close to the door that I hit them by accident. I asked 'can I help you?' And they ran away. Even then I didn't say anything. It was invasive, inappropriate, and incredibly rude. I should have said something as anyone would but I didn't. Somehow I knew this would happen if I said a word. They usually have one or two at the front and are very often alone but bc the employees didn't see anything that means I'm lying. Make that make sense Their false accusations and threats of taking legal action is laughable. They even had the balls to give me the number of a mental health line. It is absolutely despicable and condescending. It's hilarious to me that they set these rules and conclusions that I must follow as if not following it is doing something illegal. I'm not an idiot. I feel so sad for people that are actually like this bc it only shows how many issues they have and how unhappy they are. It shows the type of people they are and their morals and values and indifference. To know a collective group of people, a well known and popular coffee shop, handles a customer telling them something is making them uncomfortable is in reality the direct opposite of how establishments are as a norm. It makes me very concerned for customers. Lastly The email written to me said how'd they they don't have cameras in the bathroom or stalls so they don't know if anything happened. The incident was not inside the bathroom and stalls. I said that many times and made clear. They lied to make me look even worse. The moral of the story is don't speak up when you feel uncomfortable bc it's your fault you feel that way. Keep spreading that message my friends. I was told it was inappropriate to contact any employees or go into the store as if I had already done something or was going to. I do not behave in that way nor have I ever.. I dont have any contact info for any of them. Ive never seen any of them outside the coffee shop or spoken to them. I don't even know their names.. The emails are not in order - yelp has been mixing them up when I put them in order. Sorry about that

The food hall had a lot of seats, and was neatly maintained. It was never crowded. Kawasaki is close to the entry of Global Market. So the first time I was there, I went straight to this place. I had a Chicken katsu rice bowl. It was one of the best food I had in the food hall. Display had some very delicious and cute cakes. Next time I should try some of that. I went for 3 donuts - Oreo, honey dew and churro. The flavors were all interesting. May be oreo was my favorite. Donut texture was more chewy. From S&B Hmong Kitchen, I went for a fried rice from this place. It was flavorful. Cilantro and scallion on top gave a nice flavor kick. From Poké Mì, I went for a drunken noodles as my entree. It was not as good as I expected. Flavors were off. May be I should have gone for bahn mi. I haven't seen sugar cane juice anywhere else in Madison. So went for one. I thought it was just ok.
