This Starbucks can be found on the 151 opposite the East Towne mall. As usual, the drinks here are just as you expect them to be. I order a soy latte and wherever I am in Starbucks it tastes the same. This is very satisfying. Although the floors here are not always spotless, the coffee is delightfully flavorful. Sometimes the bathrooms are a little messy but the chairs are comfy and you can sit here and relax and savor your coffee. Most of the baristas are excellent, efficient and personable. The drive through is crazy busy all the time! I mean super busy with almost never a break. There are usually at least four or five cars lined up to order. The parking lot is adequate even though it is shared with Dr. Butts! Worth a visit as it is relatively close to downtown on the east side and you don't have to think about parking. read more

We were visiting here in Madison for a week and this became our "local" Starbucks. It has a crazy busy drive thru, but walking in can be busy too with limited seating or it can be calm depending on the time of day. I brought my cup in daily and had my usual Americano except on our last day when I needed a few more calories and my cup was already packed. I asked for a latte with cinnamon powder infused in the milk (something that my local Starbucks in Washington state introduced me to). This location doesn't do infused cinnamon powder because it causes a problem with the machine. Interesting. But. no worries... I ordered a mocha instead. During our time here, there were days when they seemed understaffed and days when the baristas were unsure of their jobs and other times when this location ran perfectly. I'm sure I'll be back to this location again during future trips to Madison! read more

I regularly stop at this location during errands for a quick pick me up, quick being the operative word. They always get my order correct and also give the best suggestions when I'd like to switch it up a bit. The parking lot and outside of the building are always well groomed and clean. I haven't gone inside to be able to comment on the conditions of the cafe itself, but get the impression that the inside would be held to the same standards as outside. The staff has always been very friendly and polite in my interactions with them, which in my opinion can make or break an experience. This store has been hit and miss for me in the past. Slow service. Running out of stuff. Not really apologetic for lack of good service or products. It is a very small store so I usually go through the drive thru. The last two times I have gone through the drive thru, I have had very good service. Smiling staff who have made small talk with me. Really that makes a lot of difference. I still hesitate to order complex items in case they are out of supplies but a simple latte or Frappuccino is good. Typical Starbucks so I'll comment on the setup. Difficult to get to if you miss the frontage road turn at the lights. Poorly set up for the drive thru as it has entrance from both sides and a fight nearly broke out with someone jumping the drive thru line. Entrance is in the rear with ample parking but with the extremely busy drive thru the lot was a mess to navigate. read more

I love going to this Starbucks. I treat myself once or twice a week after working out at my gym. Love the blonde roast coffee and the scones are great, not too sweet and not dry like some. Staff has gotten to know me which is definitely a plus. A special shout-out to my favorite barista Shannon who takes care of everyone there. Tiny complaint -- the scone I speak of, I always request it on a plate with a fork since I enjoy eating in. That must be rare because often times it's served to me in a to go bag then I have to trouble them once again for that plate and fork. They are always super busy in the morning so I can see why it happens. And although I love the morning crew that hasn't always been the case at other hours. Certainly not enough to keep me away and as I've said in other reviews, I can't hold it against them too much because I'm sure working in the service industry is hard. I'm not a drive-thru person so I can't comment on the service received there. In the morning it's always backed up though which means sometimes it might take me longer to get into a parking spot. I always order from the drive-thru so I'm not sure what service is like inside. The drive is always pretty fast. I've never had a problem with my order at this location. I normally order the cake pops for my kids but I didn't this time because they still have loads of Halloween candy. I'm sure Dr. Thompson at the Children's Dental Center wouldn't be too happy with that! Anyway, they have pretty good pastries here as well. My macchiato isn't the best but I'm not picky. I'm so happy they opened a Starbucks! The only ones around were either in Target or in Barnes and Noble at the east towne mall. I love how they added the drive through, it makes it quick and easy for me to get what i want and get on with the rest of my day. The staff is superb and very friendly. The only downfall i had was that sometimes the staff is a little chatty with the customers which can delay how quick they can be. But overall it was an awesome experience and I'm so happy that Starbucks has it's own building that's easily accessible. read more

A sailor such as myself is forever dealing with the seductive advances of sirens and succubbi. That's just a fact of my life. But, friends, let me tell you a tale of a particularly harrowing ordeal. When I say "a sailor" I mean "a middle class white guy" and when I say "sirens and succubbi" I mean "coffee places." I feel that disclaimer is important. So I was sailing along with me vessel and me crew, and the lads (just me) were starvin'. As ye tend to be after many a fortnight at sea (an afternoon of laying in bed). Just then, we began to hear a gentle song floatin' o'er the breeze. Now, a seasoned captain such as meself (I'm 26 and sort of went to college) recognized these lilting notes as that of a succubus immediately. But the lads (nope), they was taken. Positively taken. I had to risk a mutiny or follow the call, friends, and I had no choice a'tall. We (I) sailed into the port o' Starbucks and I was immediately taken by the number of other sailors. Surely this must be one of the busier ports for this mighty succubus. The succubus chose a simple decor and 'er minions are always quite friendly even amidst the chaos of so many enchanted sailors (middle class white people). Seating be limited, though, so batten down ye hatches if ye lookin' to settle for a spell. The minions, forever enslaved to her call, peddle reasonable quality goods and do so with speed. I request a bean drink over ice and the minion, with it's Cheshire Cat smile, produces. The lads (again, I am friendless) be lovin' this oasis but only I know I am being taken. None of this is as it appears, friends, and the mighty succubus surely awaits in the murky shadows a-ready to plunge us all to our doom. But that mix o' reasonable quality an' reasonable speed, me hearties, it's a falsehood this sailor (boring white guyyyyyy) could get mighty comfortable in. Mighty comfortable, indeed. read more

Every single time I come to this location my drinks are always made incorrectly. On crisp Tuesday morning it was nice to drop in on this warm Starbucks. This location is on a major road and what was different right away is you park behind the building and enter from the back. There is not a street entrance. The Starbucks is at one end of a small strip mall which is typical. The atmosphere was good. Some people working, some people popping in for their mobile order, and then people like me that do it the old fashioned way of ordering and waiting. I did like the layout of the place. They had some big windows on one side letting in light and had the high tables and comfortable chairs in the section. Towards the back they had more the "work" area with the normal chairs and plugs. After a terribly long day, I just needed some coffee. I seriously debated going to this location because it is a maze to get back there. No regrets. This location is hands down the BEST Starbucks I have ever been to. The line is always long because they are making your drink the way it should be made. Whether it is a Frappuccino or just a regular cup of coffee this location stands out above the rest. It was on this day that I ordered my standard Grande, Hot, Skim Milk Caramel Mocha with light whip. It was superb. No burnt taste, it was fresh, delicious and that sip saved my day. Yes, it does sound a little dramatic. I have been studying for the bar and just needed caffeine. This place gave me flavor and happiness all in one cup. They've made my drink wrong every single time I've ordered here, and I don't order complex things at all-- very standard menu stuff. I'm also a former SBUX employee of 5+ years, and there's a lot of stuff not to standard happening behind the line-- not cleaning their steam wands or pitchers correctly, etc. Espresso doesn't taste like they're properly cleaning their machine. I ordered sweet cream foam with an iced americano and got the most disgusting thing they have ever made which is the Salted caramel foam. I do not ever want a salty coffee.
