My husband and I stopped in at Telsaan for lunch and tea while in the area for a long weekend trip…read more I make a point of stopping in tea shops whenever I'm visiting a new town that has one. But I was also very intrigued by the tartine and couscous options on the menu. We ordered a couple of the specialty drinks - I got the toasted marshmallow tea and my husband go the chai coffee. We ordered two of the tartines and split a couscous entree. All of the above was delightful, fresh and well-portioned. Though I will add that the toasted marshmallow tea drink really does have a toasted, campfire flavor to it. So prepare to be transported in that respect. The owner helped us and kept a tab open for us, as I knew we would be leaving with at least some loose leaf tea. She also instructed us as how things in the shop work: there are large tins of loose leaf tea lining the walls of the space and small samples to smell each of teas. We settled on an almond oolong and a mint green tea to add to our home collection. We've brewed the almond oolong since and it is delightful. Not to mention, the prices were very reasonable - with a discount the more you buy! Oh and a helpful tip - they only accept debit or credit, no cash or check! The space is also very cozy and sweet. The owner brought us our drinks first, while we waited for lunch. There was a fairly sizable selection of board games, so we played Parcheesi while sipped our tea/coffee and awaited lunch. She apparently hosts game nights fairly frequently, which sounded really fun. We had a great time getting to know the owner a bit more on the way out. And I even bought a darling vintage tea cup and the perfect mid-size tea infuser. Money all well spent! I highly recommend stopping in for at least a flavorful cup of tea, if not something to nibble.

We picked up a few items and I enjoyed that the store has the non-caffeinated items separated from everything else. Store was clean at the staff here was very friendly and easy to work with. Not a lot of foot traffic either but expect to find some unique finds here. Overall I thought it was a great store worth checking out.

This place is right off a bike path and bikers were stopping by and grabbing a drink. The outer patio was pretty packed too even though it was pretty hot outside. They had a food menu and it was pretty comprehensive though my only complaint about the food was that the menu price didn't reflect what was actually being charged when the server rang it up. The menu says $20 for the wagyu burger but you get rang up for $22. I didn't try to fuss. Anyways, the bird absolutely blew me out of the way so it's a rare case where I will let water go under the bridge. Their version of the fries that they call potato smash was very phenomenal and probably some of the best fries I had though it looked pretty easy to possibly make if i were to attempt this at home. We got other food items like chips and salsa which were also really good! The team was very knowledgeable about their side of selection because my wife can only have the vegan options. Most of their ciders were pretty good too. They had a dessert cider that was featured as well and they let me try a sample. It was phenomenal and I ended up taking plenty of cider home with me. The staff here were a pleasure to chat with and wait times for the food weren't bad either. I didn't even mention that the theme of this place is absolutely phenomenal and beautiful too. Overall, i don't know if I'll be back to this part of town but I will come back here strictly for the hard cider from This place. Thankfully they also sell their products in Janesville which to me is close enough.

We were waiting for our table at the Grumpy Troll Brew Pub next door, so I got a cider flight. These ciders were very refreshing. A fun spot to stop if you're in the area!

It was an excellent recommendation. We ordered a variety of items from the cases. The cherry cobbler was especially memorable, but everything was good. Not to mention it was quite popular! I loved the selection of hot chocolate options and the translation for each. However I wasn't very impressed by the French one I ordered (dark chocolate plus vanilla). It was good but not as decadent as I was anticipating and even with 30 min to close I asked to dine in but they gave me everything in Togo containers. I also got a Swede sandwich- which was ham, Swiss and Dijon mustard. Nothing to write home about. It was very very average. However I did get an almond cookie with chocolate ganache which was fantastic. Sitting at a table in this shop and looking at all the treats was great. I have a feeling if I come back at an earlier time this place could really blow me away, but as of right now. It's mid. I'm not impressed and what was left at the end of the day was just average. Also the three items cost me about $20 so I would say this place Is on the pricer end

We didn't get immediate seating, but for a Saturday at lunch time that makes sense. They did get us in about 25 minutes later which I didn't think was too crazy. In total we were there for 90 minutes. We were seated upstairs, so we all got to take the elevator up. That was fun. We were kind of seated in a corner booth behind a wall, so I feel like maybe we were forgotten about a little bit by our server. I also think he was the only one working upstairs, so he might have been a bit overwhelmed. But he was very nice and took care of all of our requests. All of our food was decently good. Three of us got the bbq bacon style burger, one got a salad, the kids got the Mac bites, and one of us got the brisket sandwich. I was happy to see that one of the side options was carrots and celery, and they were big pieces of veggies for the sides. Would I come back here again? It's certainly not out of the question. This is my first time visiting this area so I'm sure there are other places to try as well.

Our server was attentive and was happy to take a couple photos for us.
