This is a fun coffee shop with yummy drinks/snacks and seating if you want to work from coffee shop :) I got a toasted cheese sandwich, reasonably priced, and it was yummy too. The service was fast and there was plenty of seating and wifi available too. It's pretty busy on Sunday mornings, definitely a bit harder to get work done if you need to really put your head down. This morning we ordered two medium vanilla lattes on the way to work and got in the car to find that neither had vanilla flavoring. Unfortunately this is not the first time this has happened at true coffee. If you're going to charge $9 for two drinks they need to be made as the customer asks. Seems like the wait staff need a better ticketing system so that they can visually see what the client has ordered and the ticket should be printed exactly as it appears on the POS register so that the client can validate the order when swiping their card and then the barista receives that EXACT order. Very kind staff, great quality coffee, nice ambiance. They just gotta get their consistency up or else I gotta find somewhere else to go. read more

This is my new favorite coffee shop in the Madison area that I just discovered. I love the vibe of this coffee shop and everything I have tried here tastes fresh and homemade like my grandma cooked it for me. The interior as well feels very homey. I purchased a lemonade and it is the best lemonade I have ever had, they make it homemade in house with fresh lemonades (I saw them making it with about 20 lemons or so in a pitcher). I also had a chai tea latte and it had a nice spice flavor to it. We ordered the pumpkin cranberry muffin and it tasted as if it was made that day, with fresh cranberries and nut garnish on top. The biscuit breakfast sandwich was also very good. The prices are very reasonable given how fresh the drinks and food are, about 0.75 to 1 dollar less than Starbucks menu prices I would estimate on average. I cannot comment on the coffee drinks as I am not a coffee drinker but they have a wide variety of coffees from many locations around the world, including: Brazil, Colombia, Kenya, Mexico, Ethiopia, Guatemala, and Papua New Guinea. These are all available for sale by the bag along with nice small other gifts including coffee mugs and some outdoor game items (including airplanes and more). This is perfect as right outside the coffee shop out back there is a nice courtyard area with a big open space for kids to play while families can sit enjoying the nice weather on the patio. read more

True has such a great space and great people. They're coffee is good too. I love the seasonal flavors they offer on top of just generally good coffee. Service is super fast and accurate. Staff is wearing masks and social distancing is enforced. Hopefully someday soon I'll be able to enjoy the space more. Went here to grab coffee on a Sunday afternoon. Staff was very friendly and patient in letting us look at the menu. We ordered a drip coffee and a "chorizo" burrito. The burrito was full of vegetarian chorizo, black beans, eggs, and cheese and came with a side of salsa. Overall pretty good burrito, but maybe could have used some cilantro or something green with it. The salsa also could have used a little heat to it, but then I'm a fan of spice. Overall good price for what I got though. I'd definitely come back to try out some of the other food. The place also felt very safe with people distancing throughout the space. read more

What a place! I had a warm apple cider and a breakfast egg and bacon wrap. Both, fantastic! The cider was not to sweet and came with a pleasant spice packet. The breakfast wrap used real eggs! I can't tell you how many times I've been somewhere for breakfast and have been served carton eggs or some kind of manufactured patty of sorts. None of that here. Stopped her with a friend for a cup of coffee. They had non dairy mills, which is great. I got an oat milk latte, which was really good. They roast their own beans, so one of the staff members walked my friend through the differences in the origins and roasts so that he could select a few bags to take home. Overall they were very friendly and knowledgeable. Glad they were open for us to have a quick, socially distanced pop in. read more

I've been here before. I like the location , food and coffee. I n the past, I often worked in the coffee shop. Today I sat in the front and the staff were extremely loud. It was hard to work. Many people were working but 1 by 1 people left since it was extremely hard to concentrate. They had 3 to on duty with little to do so the staff talked loudly about various topics. Was put off by the "militant" stance of the woman barista this morning. Before taking our order, we were warned that we could only stay for 75 minutes. We knew that from previous visits. I noted the time and continued with the order. We sat, finished the coffee and pastries and read for a while. The barista must have noted the time too. She approached the table and again warned us that we had 5 minutes left in our stay. We were surprised about the manner of the announcement and immediately decided to leave. Indeed, she was about right about the time and I had Just noted that we should be on our way. I am not taking issue with the policy - the business has every right to set time limits, dress code, etc. My annoyance is how she handled the policy. Not impressed with customers relations this morning and we will probably not return. read more
