    Coconut crema latte
    Sho R.

I stopped by during lunch time and had a nice breakfast. The place was almost full. Had I came during breakfast time, I would have to wait. I went for a fungus scramble. That was a nice flavorful scramble. As a side I got a single pancake. For a $1 upcharge I got it upgraded to blueberry pancake. The pancake was really good. I also went for a coconut crema latte. It was a nice flavorful latte.

We had lived within spitting distance of this place for over four years but I had never been here. Not being a coffee drinker it didn't hold much appeal for me. Finally some friends invited us to meet for breakfast so we walked over. I am glad we got there by 8am because it soon got very crowded on this Saturday morning. After a short wait in the line we both ordered their breakfast sandwiches. My hot chocolate I ordered was just OK - not that chocolatey and less than hot. After a short wait they delivered our sandwiches. Both were very tasty and hot! I really enjoyed mine. Though I don't go out for breakfast very often I will definitely pop in here again.

The restaurant is clean, spacious, and well lit. I ordered at the counter and in under 10 minutes, my order was brought to me. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The potatoes, toast, and bacon were delicious. I will return again in the future and suggest you give this place a try.

Ham and Jam Breakfast Sandwich description
    Chad O.

Simple yet satisfying. The ham and jam breakfast sandwich was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had!! I travel quite a bit for work, so that is saying a lot.

    Receipt screen shot.

I ordered (online) a simple "Smash Burger" and substituted the salad with hash at $2.00 as an alternative given on the webpage. I placed the order by paying through "Toast" as they require. I drove there less than 10 minutes each way to pick up my order around noon and took it back to my work. I found that there was no hash, but the salad had been given to me instead. I had already entered a 15% tip adding $2.31 to my total. I found out from my receipt there is a service fee of $0.38 for paying using "Toast". The total was $18.53 of which $4.69 was for the substitute hash, tip and 2.5% service fee not including tax. I am disappointed in the whole exchange after calling to let them know the error. The person I spoke with only said they were sorry and would I like to come back to pick up the hash substitute. I said no thank you and the person did not say anything else so I hung up.

It may not look like much from the outside but its what's on the inside that matters! The casual atmosphere on the inside is where its at. My breakfast, the 'Lake Edge Scramble' was tasty and filling, the bacon was defiantly worth the upcharge! The selection of fresh baked pastries was great for how small that kitchen must be!!! Refills on Iced Tea were cheep as well! only thing that I had a hard time with was it could get difficult to hear the baristas calling out drink orders because of the layout, but thats not a reason not to go back!!

What a wonderful little find. The sandwich listed is called the Roman and let me say I was tempted to go back for lunch as well. Staff was friendly and clean environment. I have to be in Madison again the end of the month and cannot wait to visit again! Not certain if I will get the same thing or try a new item.

I was skeptical when I realized we had to order our food at the counter vs. being seated and served. I didn't like having to pay gratuity prior to being provided any service. We ordered Chilaquiles and the French Toast. The chilaquiles was not authentic but we really liked it! Would definitely recommend. Same for the French toast! Yummy. The fruit was so sweet and fresh. The almonds were a nice touch. 5 Stars for the food. I liked that the water was self service. I liked that take out boxes were readily available. I didn't have to ask or wait in either case. I think the only negative of our visit was having to find parking.

The service was absolutely great, and the restaurant has a lively, charming vibe. It does tend to get busy, so I'd recommend arriving at a reasonable time. I ordered the French toast, which was clearly their own elevated take on the classic. The flavors were good, but the texture was a little different than I expected and threw me off slightly. It felt more like a chic, creative version of French toast rather than the traditional style, which is the only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five. Everything else was fantastic, though, and I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

It was Thursday evening and they had a ribs/pulled pork special. We waited about 10 minutes at the bar for a table. The bar and atmosphere is great. Pretty bar lights and an old wood bar. We were seated by the window with a great view of the capital. My daughter and I shared the rib dinner and had plenty of food for us. Our waitress was new and learning but was doing a good job. I'd definitely come back.

I had the wedge salad which was over a half head of fresh crispy lettuce. Two dressings combo so refreshing. The cheese tray was nice for $14.00. Overall service was great and the food was good.

We had reservations, so we were seated right away which was a plus. Also, I will say I don't think any of the issues we had were because of our waitress. She was super friendly and quick enough to take our orders on a day when there restaurant seemed full enough, but manageable. We got our drink orders in and our food at the same time to speed up the process for getting little kids food, and the waitress even took note of that. We also ordered an appetizer to help during the wait. It took a while for the drinks to come out, but they were all rather tasty. I think my apple cider mocktail was the best and refreshing since it was getting hot in the restaurant with the sun beating in. Our food however took forever and the kids meals did not come out any earlier than everyone else. One person in our group also initially didn't get his meal, which the waitress apologized and said there was a mixup in the kitchen. That's fine, it happens, but then the staff running meals tried to bring him the wrong order 3 times. The rest of us were all finished eating by the time he finally got his food. Overall, the food was fine. I got the eggs benedict which was a little underdone on the eggs for me as the whites were too runny for me. The kids chicken nuggets were pretty tasty with a flaky breading. I heard decent reviews of the breakfast burger, but the thing that was the best to us was the breakfast sandwich. It was quite messy, but the messiness of the sauce was worth it. We also got an appetizer of the cinnamon roll. I feel like it's a little mislabeled though, as it was more like a morning bun with some frosting/glaze over the top. Tasted pretty good and helped keep kids entertained for a while. Overall, the food was fine, but the experience wasn't great. With the multiple mixups in orders and getting a little green house effect going with the sun shining in, there wsnt a great feeling when leaving. Again, I don't think it was our waitresses fault, so not sure what was going on in the kitchen.
