The place itself is large, but the ceilings are high and everything is spread out which makes it really hard to hear anything when it gets loud-and it was loud the whole time I was there (despite not a lot of people). The seating also did not look very clean. The service was fine, but I don't like people watching me check the box as to whether or not I'm going to tip. Seriously tacky. Prices are ridiculous. I spent nearly $10 for hot chocolate and a horrible cookie. If you can't get a chocolate chip cookie right, please don't bother selling baked goods (this is coming from a baker). I threw the cookie out after attempting it to improve it by dunking in my cocoa. Cocoa was subpar. I did not want to go here, but a friend suggested it. Convenient location. The parking lot out front was full when I got there but there is an additional lot across the street. There is plenty of seating indoors but they do have a drive-thru as well. The vibe is cozy with couches, plants and wall art! The pastries looked so tasty, but I went with the Everything Croissant Sandwich with bacon, with cheesy hashbrown bites on the side. The sandwich was bigger than I expected, and SO DELICIOUS! The hashbrown bites were good too. I got the chipotle aioli on the side and it paired great with the hashbrown bites and the sandwich. I asked a vendor to meet me at this coffee place because it was a local business and I preferred it to some of the chain he had mentioned. When I ordered, they first asked me if I was a member and I said no. I ordered and the drink came up right away which was great. Since I've been sitting here, the first question the waiters have asked anybody is "Are you a member?" One person actually left because she felt so uncomfortable. I think it is a horrible way to greet a guest and it makes people very uncomfortable. They should rethink that strategy. Overpriced food & coffee I'm sorry guys I've really tried to like your coffee and food but your menu always seems to disappoint. Your breakfast menu is absolutely disgusting. No flavor or salt in any of your breakfast/brunch items (yes I have tired them all). I'm going to give an example of what I'm talking about- I ordered the "Everything bagel with sausage" and I couldn't believe how you think it's acceptable to add no salt to items just because you put everything bagel spice on your overly buttered croissant....the eggs were also slightly over cooked and there was no salt added to them or the burnt sausage patty. The chorizo burrito I had was one of the worst tasting burritos I've ever had in my life which is pretty impressive given the fact that I travel often and eat out a lot. Overall, really gross tasting food, what spared you the 1 star rating was the fact I like your cold brew but you can't really mess that item up. I got the American breakfast. My bacon was so burnt and dried out. It looked like they took burnt bacon and dehydrated it. The eggs were scrambled and didn't seem to have any seasoning on them at all- not even salt and pepper. The only thing giving this review two stars are the cheesy hashbrown bites, and my boyfriend liked his London Fog drink. He got the berry French toast and said it was very dry and seemed like it was made, frozen, and then thawed. They didn't give him enough syrup to combat the dryness, either. For the price point you pay for the food here I'd say skip it. Stick with drinks and pastries here (if you aren't put off by the fact that they aren't covered and there have been flies on every single Grace Coffee I've ever been in), at least at this location. Ordered a salmon avocado toast on the mobile app for pickup on a Saturday. The app is quite slow and takes multiple steps to get to the ordering page. You have a reserve a pickup time in 20 minutes which doesn't make sense since the cafe is clearly not busy. Once I got the cafe, the staff seemed to have some difficulty getting my order. One person doesn't know where my order was but another person handed me my food. Doesn't look like they have the mobile order figured out yet. The salmon toast was pretty good, liked the microgreens and the side salad that comes with it. Definitely very healthy! The cafe interior is very spacious and relaxing with sofas and tables for your choosing. A lot of pastries to choose from and they're HUGE!!! I went for the chocolate croissant and it was good only thing is it wasn't warm and the chocolate was just a strip of it. But overall it was still good. Drink wise, I got iced lavender latte which is good. Recently, I have been avoiding this location. The past 3 times I've gone here were all very disappointing. I ordered the breakfast wrap and it was hot on the outside and freezing cold on the inside. It felt like it was premade, sitting in the fridge, and was not properly heated. I got an acai bowl recently and the taste was so off. To me, it tasted like food that had been left exposed in the freezer.... and you can taste the freezer. The furniture is super cute as well. It has a cozy chic vibe to it. The food is absolutely incredible! Last time I went, I ordered the street corn avocado toast and it was DELICIOUS! It was one of the best avocado toasts I've had. Their pastries and beverages have also been incredible every time! Grace has the potential to be a five star but I really struggle with the rating. The service is 5/5, ambiance is 5/5 and the food is a 5/5. However, I'm pretty concerned about the health code issues. My biggest issue was all the flies and bugs flying around the place. I know they've had some issues with being up to code in the past but I was hoping it got better like they promised on social media. Hopefully they're trying to put their efforts towards sanitation. Surprised by the lower star rating of Grace as I thought very good and not expected in Wisconsin! The ambiance and space in general deserve 4 starts! We had a Turkey sandwich and a breakfast wrap. Both were very tasty. They Turkey wasn't spicy but maybe Midwest spicy. The potatoes with the sandwich were great. For the wrap we got the cheese hash browns which were amazing! Hands down, the best Madison coffee shop. As Starbucks morph into Dairy Queens, local options are super important. Unfortunately, local chains can struggle with quality and consistency. I've had 100 cappuccinos and lattes at Graces and not one has been subpar. For the review complaining about waiting for pancakes at the new Cottage Grove store, enjoy the coffee and give it a minute. Now Starbucks has some competition at this busy corner and Sun Prairie. Grace coffee has already garnered a great reputation at its cafés in Madison. Now they have brought their BoHo chic café, their delicious food, their presentation, and their inventive coffee drinks to the suburbs. This place really is in a level of its own. Starbucks looks like the McDonald's of coffee compared to this place. You have to see it to believe it. The owners seem to always be on site and are very attentive. The drive-through is exceptionally speedy given how custom-made and delicious their coffee is. I even spotted some former Starbucks superstars now employed at Grace. The pricing is a notch more expensive than Starbucks, but it is definitely worth it. They even offer delivery service. On our way out of the café We passed by the kitchen staff rolling in on a BMW, bringing in some supplies. I have been to every other Grace Coffee location so I was destined to check out this one!! I went here as apart of my Birthday "week" which is celebrating things I like to do, such as visiting local cafes. I was very excited too! I brought a book a long and read while waiting for my order to arrive and sat at window bar table with stools. This location is quaint, quiet, and plays a variety of music. In addition, the iconic artwork is displayed throughout the space. I knew what I wanted to order and got my favorite item off the menu, the Avocado toast with an egg! It's simple, but delicious! As I waited for my order, I noticed other customers arrive, order food and drinks, and receive their food orders in minutes. It had been over a half hour since I ordered so I decided to check on it. Turns out my order was lost and thought to be an extra avocado toast. They made me a new one right away, refunded my money, and gave me a free pastry. While it was frustrating in the beginning, the staff was quick to fix the issue. I chose a blueberry scone! All the pastries are iconically large!
