Bad service at the bar area. The Caucasian lady with tattoos on her arm is not the nicest and her customer service is very poor. On the night I was there she looked me over and did not even ask if I needed anything. She offered up several bad facial expressions and mostly talked to the men while flirting on the job. I went for Happy Hour, which only saved $1 off cocktails ($2off beer), & offered discounted food options. My Mega Margarita was weak for $11.25. I would only recommend this place during the week during lunch time. I came tonight (on a Friday) around 9pm and the service and food are poor. There was also hair in our food. We asked for bread and it came out with our food, not fresh or warm. It also took the waitress 30 minutes to bring the check and we barely saw her the entire time here. read more

I've always loved Jaspers. The crab dip is the main reason for going. However, this past Sunday, I was astounded by the staff. I took a friend out for their birthday and we went to Jaspers for Brunch on 11/3/19. Well, after a fabulous brunch, I went back across the bridge to VA and realized I left my money pouch in the restaurant. I called and someone had turned it in. They kept it safe and when I went to pick it up, my money was still in there. That says a lot for our waiter (her name was T, I believe), the bussing people and the overall staff. Anyone could have taken that money but they didn't. Jaspers might've been on of the most concise eye places tO eat around my house. Jasper serve great food, well I thought they did. I ordered the spicy shrimp and mushroom pasta got my husband salmon for myself and chicken strips for my son. My husband don't eat meat so all he ate was the pasta and a bite of my salmon. My son chicken strip dinner had too many pieces of chicken so I took two out and ate it... who told me to do that??? Now my son and me is suffering from food poison! All weekend it's coming out of both openings. My son is 8 he jumped out of bed and dashed to the bathroom where he was in there for about an hour complaining about his stomach! Many reviewers give harsher than necessary reviews for this place. I think many expect it to be a ritzy, high class dining experience because of the decor, but they arent trying to do that here. They are a solid food option thats a step about Applebees and the such but a step below some of the premier DC area restaurants. Jaspers had the good fortune to purchase the old BET Soundstage so they have a gorgeous space. I think that raises expectations a little higher than they should. Often the service is the main sticking point here. Food prep times are usually long and on busy weekends you should maybe bring your patience. Once you do get your food though.....its good. There arent a lot of restaurants in the Largo area and besides Outback, Applebees, Fridays and Ruby Tuesday, this is it. The bartender is THE WORST. The daytime bartender has an attitude, never smiles, hardly speaks, and NEVER BRINGS BREAD when you ask. I asked the 3:00 pm bartender for some bread and butter and he got it to me in literally 2 minutes. Why couldn't she? We spend 120.00 at the bar and you can't bring me some bread. The service was below average - casual (as if we were best friends) instead of friendly service, slow service and servers recommending other local restaurants. The desserts were/are great. The drinks were good. But, the rest = just okay. What we do know is that there is a robust social scene there - especially for urban professionals. Horrible service! Jasper's in Largo Md you must do better!!! I was very disappointed in the quality of service I received tonight. My friend and I came in around 6:40 pm and was seated right away but everything went down hill from there. We sat almost 15 minutes before we were greeted after having to ask for our waiter which caused me to miss any last min happy hour I could take advantage of. Throughout the night we continued to get neglected because our waiter Nicole had one large party and was helping out with another party of 25. We asked for the manager (Carl Jones) and he was very rude and uncaring once the situation was explained to him. Never offered us anything, although he claims he did. I asked him if he could comp my appetizer that I orderd to go and he tells me no. And when I asked him why he has no explanation. I asked him what could he do about our dissatisfaction and he tells me nothing but refers me to the GM (phil mottley) Needless to say I won't be going to this establishment again. Both appetizer and entree delivered barely lukewarm. At the entree, I asked for the manager. He acted as though I was bothering him by explaining the food was cold. He did redeliver it and offered a dry apology but I was expecting a bit more, when a customer explains that 2 out of 2 of their dishes arrived cold. First time coming to Jasper's to eat and service was horrible. First, our server (Marquel) felt unbothered and did not give his best service. He approached the table without identifying who he was. I ordered the Caribbean Beach Party because of the fresh slice pineapple; however, my drink came out without it; therefore, I asked Marquel about the pineapple, he asked oh would you like it? I mean was that a serious question it clearly states on the menu it comes with a pineapple. Second, I ordered the chicken Jumbalya entree with linguine and my plate came with rice instead (not the biggest problem). When I said something to Marquel, he responded like ohh it was the kitchens fault cause he put in linguine but he was clearly walking away from the table. The service was decent. However, when it came to drinks, the service was horrific. Only asked for water with a lemon, yet had to wait about 40 minutes just for another waiter to come and order again. The wait time is also another issue. After being told we will have a 45 minute wait, me along with my family decided to wait in the car for 30. Use to come to this place when I was under thee tender age of 18 but only came for their brunch which always hit the spot. I came here once after that for dinner but I barely remember it so I feel as if that does not count. Came here with the boo thing and had a great time. The bartender was good and prompt and the crowd was pleasant (Maybe because I'm from literally around the corner I'm use to the crowd. But they are way far from bad aren't even rowdy). Only reason I give four stars is because the calamari was very greasy and they sauce they provided was smooth and did not contrast the grease stuck in the batter. (Marinara sauce anybody!) blah! This review is for Sundary brunch. Was dragged here by the hubs last Sunday, it was his bday weekend, so I had to suck it up. We got here early so there was no wait (thank goodness) but the place quickly filled up. The buffet is ok, not a big fan of any of the "lunch foods." I basically ended up eating some waffles, cheese eggs, and fruit (which was not the best). A meal I could have gotten from Bob Evans for much cheaper. Hubby seemed to enjoy his food, but he'll literally eat anything. Would have gotten 3 stars, but the lines for the breakfast food/waffles were ridiculous. Ok, let's be super honest- if you ever had their tiger wings you know that's the REAL reason why you return. Usually, if I order wings from anywhere I have to emphasize "well done/really crispy/fried hard" but JASPER's gets me !!! OMG from first bite, I was in absolute admiration. The wings were so crispy on the outside but succulent and moist on the inside that I almost ordered more to take home for later. Let's talk about that tiger sauce -- perfect balance of sweet heat. Like a good Asian zing or General Tso... I could drink it by the gallon. In addition to my wings, which came as a lunch special (8 wings and a side) I also had mashed potatoes loaded (with no upcharge). The potatoes were "eh" not cheesy enough if you ask me but my friend DEVOURED hers. Service was about the same as well, nothing to rave about.
