I actually enjoyed Jaspers. My server Molly was awesome. She was truly attentive and she was knowledgeable about the menu. I went on a Saturday afternoon, so the place wasn't packed. It was quite pleasant. I ordered the spinach dip for an appetizer. It was the best I've had. For lunch, I had a black bean burger with tiger sauce and some "interesting" mayo. I strongly dislike the mayo-ish sauce. The patty was undercooked, and I'm a vegetarian so I know. For sides, I got the broccoli and sweet potato casserole. My sides were awesome! The broccoli was steamed with herbs. The sweet potato casserole was more of a dessert with the cinnamon and brown sugar. This is what an over well done steak looks like. I went out to eat with two friends. My order was taken for a well done steak. I cut into it and it bled into the plate. I asked for it to be taken back. I was brought back the same steak which was already done on the outside. Now with a thick burned layer. I asked for it to be done over again! The managers comes walking out like The Hulk very aggressive and confrontational, asking if I asked for the steak to be done over. Which makes no sense of your employee brought it back and relayed the message....what's the problem what did you not understand? My friends were done eating before they were even done cooking a new steak. We asked for the manager to work with us, and remove the steak from our bill. He was very rude aggressive and uncooperative. He refused to compensate us in any way for our ruined lunch date. I def wasn't planning on going here on the night I was there! However, I had a great time watching the games and having drinks with my bros. The happy hour appetizer and drink specials are very good! I had an amazing shrimp and crab dip as well as one of the bros had a shrimp and crab cocktail. The food was pretty good bar food! And I was surprised by the strength of my drink. I consider myself a lightweight when it comes to alcohol and I don't know what the young lady did to the drink I ordered, but it was super strong. Brunch-great for when you just want to fill up on decent food. The pound cake and pound cake-like cornbread is delish if you're a big bread eater like moi. The fried fish (when they have it) is great when it first comes out as well as the fried chicken. There's an omelette station as well. My party of three went for lunch on a Friday. My daughter ordered a side of fries and showed me what looked like a fried pork chop in it. I asked for the manager to show him. I questioned if the policy was to share grease since two out of the three people in my party did not eat pork. I was here for drinks and appetizers with a group of co workers. We were celebrating work accomplishments and getting to know each other. Service: F We were a group of 8 and our waiter just couldn't keep it together. We arrived as a group of 4 and then more people were arriving to total a party of 8. He never came to take our drink order when more people arrived and was just plain clumsy! My co workers each had 2 drinks before he came down to our side of the table to take our orders. The service was VERY slow and inaccurate. He kept putting the appetizers at the wrong side of the table. Food: C I had boneless chicken wings and calamari. The calamari batter was tasteless and the calamari was very rubbery. The boneless wings were okay but one of the sauces tasted off. You can tell that this food is frozen and then fried. It's nothing really special. Drinks: F I ordered a mango coconut martini. It looked beautiful until I picked up the glass - it was plastic! The stem of the glass was cruddy and I didn't want to be picky in front of my co workers, so I sipped the drink and hoped I wouldn't get sick from a dirty glass. Horrible..... is an understatement... decided to meet a few friends here for HH after work since moving to the new hospital (UMCRH). Worst decision ever. After waiting for over 45 minutes we finally received our appetizers (warm no less) so clearly they have been sitting out. Still waiting on water after ONE HOUR. WATER... manager finally came over (not sure why) ad he was unapologetic, but finally agreed to comp our drink- ONE DRINK, however since HH is over the others (regular price) is on US... I went on a Sunday and arrived at 6pm. The party that I was with was about 15 people. They did not seat up because 2 people had not arrived yet. We tried to warn them that more people would come if they didn't seat up and the group ended up being 20 people. However because the service was extremely slow 10 didn't order ANYTHING. People were seated before us and they arrived 45minutes after we did. We sat down an hour later and they place wasn't packed. I had not been back to this spot since it was the BET Sound Stage opening night. No one orderd appizters and after hearing the food wasn't good most orders drinks. So today I hosted my sorority sisters 34th birthday party at Jasper's. I originally was only gonna give one star however things progressively got better, thanks to Aisha, Tayo and Mike ( the night manager). Originally I had spoken to Miguel and he was very matter of Fact, rude and just wasn't trying to work with me or my group. Every question I asked was answered with, the night is sold out, there are 4 other parties tonight (25 or more ppl) and we can not accommodate you. After a little more discussion, I asked if I came in 2 hrs before my party time, would I be able to get the tables by the bar if they were open. He said yes but was still very negative about those tables being available. Fast forward.... Got to Jasper's @ 3:45 pm. Was able to hold 3 tables that held 6 ppl each (18). Tayo and Aisha were amazing. My group was very needy and had them all over the place. They did not fret or stumble. They were extremely attentive and went over and beyond the call of duty. I even contacted Mike to tell him about it. I also had to call Mike over due to another matter with a rather nasty waitress however he took care of the issue quickly and efficiently. No one In my party even knew what was happening. I definitely recommend anyone to go to Jasper's and ask for either Tayo or Aisha, their phenomenal and if you want an attentive manager that doesn't make excuses or will take care of your problem, Mike is your man!!!! I've given Jasper's more than one try and to date I still can't give them more than 2 stars and I'm being nice doing that. I went yesterday for brunch and while I didn't order brunch it appears to have been a hit for the others in my party. I will say its reasonably priced $18/adults which isn't bad and it appears to have a variety of foods...meaning there's something for everyone on the brunch menu. I realize the place was crowded...cool, but when you sit down and the waitress doesn't come near your table for 15 minutes that's not a good sign, but ok we stay because we didn't feel like driving to another restaurant. So the waitress finally come to the table and take our drink and food order...well....15 more minutes we still didn't have drinks, flatware or napkins. Now at this point I'm like ARE YOU KIDDING ME...but hey I'm thinking its crowded so I let it go. We finally get our drinks and flatware so we're like ok cool. I think this is what really threw me off...we ordered Mimosa's...and I'm not sure about you all...but I've never had a mimosa with a glass full of ice. Ok really...when did they start putting ice in mimosa's? We asked for another w/o the ice and OMG they brought us a glass with 1/4 of it filled with champagne & orange juice...now we know what all the ice was necessary so it would appear you had a good amount of drink. The only reason I'm giving this review 2 stars is I ordered the lobster bisque soup and IT WAS GOOD. Will I go here again...no...I've given Jasper's too many tries to get it right so I've informed people I know if you're having a gathering at Jasper's I WILL NOT BE IN ATTENDANCE. read more

Just came back from Jaspers to watch my beloved Giants play the Eagles (don't ask me how that game turned out :( Was our second choice after the crowds at another place kepts us away. Sat at the bar since our main intention was to watch the game. It was in the height of brunch time but the food and people were moving steadily and it actually wasn't packed. Had a salmon caesar salad (minus the bacon) for lunch and sat and watched the game with a friend. The salad was pretty good, well as far as caesar's go. I'm not generally a caesar fan, but wanted a salad that was filling with enough to last me for a couple of hours. Yeah after that salad don't even know if I need to eat dinner tonight. Was a good atmosphere in my opinion. Folks around the bar were chatty but it wasn't so much noise that I couldn't concentrate. The bartenders were friendly and efficient, and got my food out speedily. I actually preferred this venue, since I wasn't in the mood for a whole lot of trash talking, yet wasn't in the mood to watch the game from home. My friend had the brunch (which I've had before) She thought it was great, didn't feel for breakfast food this time. The last time I had brunch there, it was uh, ok. Nothing to rave about although I liked that there was a lot on the selection bar. So Jaspers isn't my "oooh I have a taste for Jaspers" kinda place. I just don't think the food is all that great. But its ok, and for a place to catch the game in a semi social semi quiet location, it works for me! read more

My chicken was not cooked properly they were raw with sauce. This is unacceptable to purchase food at your restaurant that was not cooked properly. Today's visit has been one of the best experiences I have ever had at this restaurant. First, the renovations they made were great! More open floor space and seating around the bar! My waiter, Stephon, approached me while waiting for spaces to open up at the bar and offered to have me seated at one of his tables (in the new section) while I waited on my guest and bring me a drink. After I sat down, he came over with my beer and took my food order which came out quickly. He was funny and very personable. After the food came out, he came over shortly after to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the food. He made several stops to refill our drinks as well. I noticed him engaging all of his tables with conversation and laughter. I come here frequently and have had a few less than stellar experiences, but the fun atmosphere & tiger wings keep me and my friends coming back. I am so glad Jaspers has brought on someone who cares so much about taking excellent care of his customers. I will be sure to ask for him whenever I visit! read more

First and probably last time coming back. The brunch direction is sub-par; fruit wasn't fresh and most of the breakfast items were not good to me...except the waffles. My dining companions were in agreement. However, it was well stocked. They also don't offer unlimited mimosas or even an option to order a pitcher Our waiter wasn't that attentive, to the point where we decided to help clear our own dishes.
