Had a very terrible experience! I dined here a few nights ago my server was very friendly and attentive. The problem was their food! I ordered their honey bbq wings as an appetizer why would I ever be served food with a deep fried roach mixed in my wings. I was disgusted, disappointed and very frustrated! The server let me know they do have roaches but it's usually not in the food. The manager Carol was very rude and was no help at all to the situation, as he tried to put blame on the guests versus giving me a free meal for the day. After seeing such I didn't even want my entree anymore, I ordered the Crab Bomb :/ I will ever fine here again! Terrible food and management was even worse. read more

Out of the Jaspers, this is the most packed especially at brunch and Happy Hour. It's a newer than the others as well and used to be the old BET Soundstage Club which may have much to do with the crowds. The brunch is slightly better here than at Greenbelt. Casual place to eat that serves standard, American, TGIFridays-type food. It can get a bit sceney during happy hour and weekend nights so be aware. Good place to go and hang out with friends. People go to pretty much be seen during these times and it can be crowded. The people watching is great though. Happy Hour specials are pretty good and the portions are huge. The BBQ Chicken Sandwich was a go to favorite and I liked the Buffalo Wings, Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls (!), and Chinolatino Eggrolls. Crispy fried fatty goodness. Depending on the bartender, drinks can be good and strong. This is a place you'd go to for the aforementioned times and for sporting events if you want noise and atmosphere and entertainment. read more

Today, I wanted to try something different and try out Jasper's brunch. Umm... All I can say is that they tried. This place is great otherwise but the food today was underwhelming. The food is served buffet style. They have you typical breakfast food (bacon, eyes, sausage, grits... Etc), omelette, fajita, and waffle station. There is a fruit/salad section. The fruit was definitely old. The kiwi was extra slimy. The desserts need to be vastly revisited. I tried their chocolate cake but it was not too tasty. The highlight for me was the mimosa. I've never had it was ice but it was cool. Also, I will ask for the manager to verify the spelling of words on cakes before sending it on the floor for customers. Hard to beat a $20 brunch buffet in this area. But I still dreaded coming to Jasper's with some friends after church for the first time in years after never having been impressed and was pleasantly surprised I didn't want to flip a table by the end. They don't take brunch reservations (we'd tried the week prior) and the hostess stand was a hot mess quoting a 1.5 hour wait to scare us away but we waited anyway and were sat within about 25 minutes. Imagine if we had left? Clearly a retraining is needed, I understand managing expectations but don't miss out on customers because you're afraid. Our server was friendly but perhaps a bit in the weeds, she forgot flatware, drinks, etc. The buffet staff (mainly waffle man) was surly as hell but maybe he was having a bad day. #notmyproblem. I actually enjoyed Jaspers. My server Molly was awesome. She was truly attentive and she was knowledgeable about the menu. I went on a Saturday afternoon, so the place wasn't packed. It was quite pleasant. I ordered the spinach dip for an appetizer. It was the best I've had. For lunch, I had a black bean burger with tiger sauce and some "interesting" mayo. I strongly dislike the mayo-ish sauce. The patty was undercooked, and I'm a vegetarian so I know. For sides, I got the broccoli and sweet potato casserole. My sides were awesome! The broccoli was steamed with herbs. The sweet potato casserole was more of a dessert with the cinnamon and brown sugar. I def wasn't planning on going here on the night I was there! However, I had a great time watching the games and having drinks with my bros. The happy hour appetizer and drink specials are very good! I had an amazing shrimp and crab dip as well as one of the bros had a shrimp and crab cocktail. The food was pretty good bar food! And I was surprised by the strength of my drink. I consider myself a lightweight when it comes to alcohol and I don't know what the young lady did to the drink I ordered, but it was super strong. Ok so, the waitress was less then friendly she did not have an attitude however...no smile, no customer service skills. That was bad enough but, to top it off the resturant had a company come in to reupholster the chairs during dinner time so while we were eating all we kept hearing was the sound of an air gun while they were stapling the upholstery back to the chairs it was so annoying OMG I cannot believe they had construction going on during restaurant hours, unbelievable only in certain of neighborhoods this would happen. read more

Brunch-great for when you just want to fill up on decent food. The pound cake and pound cake-like cornbread is delish if you're a big bread eater like moi. The fried fish (when they have it) is great when it first comes out as well as the fried chicken. There's an omelette station as well. My party of three went for lunch on a Friday. My daughter ordered a side of fries and showed me what looked like a fried pork chop in it. I asked for the manager to show him. I questioned if the policy was to share grease since two out of the three people in my party did not eat pork. I was here for drinks and appetizers with a group of co workers. We were celebrating work accomplishments and getting to know each other. Atmosphere: B This place is clean and has a nice casual bar-like feel. Crowd was friendly. I could do without the mirrored walls, though. Service: F We were a group of 8 and our waiter just couldn't keep it together. We arrived as a group of 4 and then more people were arriving to total a party of 8. He never came to take our drink order when more people arrived and was just plain clumsy! My co workers each had 2 drinks before he came down to our side of the table to take our orders. The service was VERY slow and inaccurate. He kept putting the appetizers at the wrong side of the table. Food: C I had boneless chicken wings and calamari. The calamari batter was tasteless and the calamari was very rubbery. The boneless wings were okay but one of the sauces tasted off. You can tell that this food is frozen and then fried. It's nothing really special. Drinks: F I ordered a mango coconut martini. It looked beautiful until I picked up the glass - it was plastic! The stem of the glass was cruddy and I didn't want to be picky in front of my co workers, so I sipped the drink and hoped I wouldn't get sick from a dirty glass. My chicken was not cooked properly they were raw with sauce. This is unacceptable to purchase food at your restaurant that was not cooked properly. I attempt to contact the restaurant and its a answering service stated leave a message for the the manager and someone to got back with the customers. I went on a Sunday and arrived at 6pm. The party that I was with was about 15 people. They did not seat up because 2 people had not arrived yet. We tried to warn them that more people would come if they didn't seat up and the group ended up being 20 people. However because the service was extremely slow 10 didn't order ANYTHING. People were seated before us and they arrived 45minutes after we did. We sat down an hour later and they place wasn't packed. I had not been back to this spot since it was the BET Sound Stage opening night. No one orderd appizters and after hearing the food wasn't good most orders drinks. I orders a cup (yes...a cup) of lobster whatever..... I was one of the last to get it and it was luke warm with what tasted like some one tried to fool me with crab meat in a lobster soup. I've given Jasper's more than one try and to date I still can't give them more than 2 stars and I'm being nice doing that. I went yesterday for brunch and while I didn't order brunch it appears to have been a hit for the others in my party. I will say its reasonably priced $18/adults which isn't bad and it appears to have a variety of foods...meaning there's something for everyone on the brunch menu. I realize the place was crowded...cool, but when you sit down and the waitress doesn't come near your table for 15 minutes that's not a good sign, but ok we stay because we didn't feel like driving to another restaurant. So the waitress finally come to the table and take our drink and food order...well....15 more minutes we still didn't have drinks, flatware or napkins. Now at this point I'm like ARE YOU KIDDING ME...but hey I'm thinking its crowded so I let it go. We finally get our drinks and flatware so we're like ok cool. I think this is what really threw me off...we ordered Mimosa's...and I'm not sure about you all...but I've never had a mimosa with a glass full of ice. Ok really...when did they start putting ice in mimosa's? We asked for another w/o the ice and OMG they brought us a glass with 1/4 of it filled with champagne & orange juice...now we know what all the ice was necessary so it would appear you had a good amount of drink. The only reason I'm giving this review 2 stars is I ordered the lobster bisque soup and IT WAS GOOD. Just came back from Jaspers to watch my beloved Giants play the Eagles (don't ask me how that game turned out :( Was our second choice after the crowds at another place kepts us away. Sat at the bar since our main intention was to watch the game. It was in the height of brunch time but the food and people were moving steadily and it actually wasn't packed. Had a salmon caesar salad (minus the bacon) for lunch and sat and watched the game with a friend. The salad was pretty good, well as far as caesar's go. I'm not generally a caesar fan, but wanted a salad that was filling with enough to last me for a couple of hours. Yeah after that salad don't even know if I need to eat dinner tonight. Was a good atmosphere in my opinion. Folks around the bar were chatty but it wasn't so much noise that I couldn't concentrate. The bartenders were friendly and efficient, and got my food out speedily. I actually preferred this venue, since I wasn't in the mood for a whole lot of trash talking, yet wasn't in the mood to watch the game from home. My friend had the brunch (which I've had before) She thought it was great, didn't feel for breakfast food this time. The last time I had brunch there, it was uh, ok. Nothing to rave about although I liked that there was a lot on the selection bar. So Jaspers isn't my "oooh I have a taste for Jaspers" kinda place. I just don't think the food is all that great. I arrived and was told I could sit anywhere in the bar area for Happy Hour so I sat at a booth and waited 25 mins to be noticed. My friend and I finally called a waiter over and he said I can't seat myself at the booth. I said well someone could have acknowledged me and asked me to move. We then move and a waitress immediately walks over and I asked her what kind of vodka is on the happy hour menu and she responded probably Smirnoff so I asked her to check and she rolls her eyes and says probably Smirnoff again which means she has no clue what probably means. My friend and I ordered Apple martinis which tasted like melon cough medicine. The waitress asked if we wanted something else, no we want an apple martini. She says well it's going to taste the same, rolls her eyes and walks away. She goes to a group of coworkers standing around and about 6 mins later a waiter arrives and says he'll be serving us.....so she basically decided she didn't want to serve us anymore! I requested a manager who came over and had the drinks remade after stating they used the wrong pucker which didn't matter because the drinks still were horrible! We finally gave up and left. I've been twice. The food was delicious. Got the blackened chicken and shrimp pasta. Very delicious and spicy how I like it.
