The restaurant was huge inside and it was a little dark inside with nice lightening. The wait was stated as a 30 minute wait to 45 minutes. However, 15 minutes later they came to grab us. Keep in mind I went around 9pm so close to their closing time. So make sure to plan ahead since they served us close to closing time. The waiters/waitresses were scrambling around they attended us pretty quickly. We got the food less than 20 minutes. Their menu was extensive, the choices that we made were so delicious. I have been going to Jaspers's 30 years since they were located in Greenbelt Maryland. I ordered a salmon and crab dinner from there along with tiger wings with calamari. I got this from curb side I'm sad to say it was terrible too much sauce on calamari and salmon dry tasted terrible veggies overcooked for a place I have visited over 30 years this was the worst usually the service is slow but food and drinks on point. The what was not worth it but it wasn't bad! I'm going to go with what I ate and not the service. I will say I had to wait 1 hour which we were told to wait for. So I can't complain about that. Once we got a table it was crazy cause we was told to seat at a small table. Then we looked over at a bigger table. We where a party of 6 with a table to fit 4. I know that's what was given. Do not go here at all!!!!!!!!!! I did curbside pickup Friday afternoon. I had multiple issues. I told them no pecans in my sweet potato casserole because I'm allergic and they still put them in there. I ordered the crab and salmon explosion. They do not cooked their seafood completely. I threw the salmon out because I started to notice it was uncooked. The crab cake might have been uncooked but i took no chances. I wasted $35 just to be suffering from food poisoning all day and it still hasn't stopped. They have lazy chefs! Please do not waste your money. While being seated at our table we were told with a rude tone that we only have an hour and a half to enjoy our meal. We asked the host does the time start when we got our food he said it started when we sat at the table. The bathrooms were DISGUSTING puddles of water in stalls, no toilet paper, and trash overflowing. The drink was very very strong. I guess if you're looking for a stiff drink, this is the place to go. My friend ordered a tropical drink from the menu and she enjoyed it but couldn't finish it. This was our first time at Jasper's. We are traveling for my daughter's track meet and decided to eat dinner here. It was a great atmosphere and the food was amazing. What I loved most about the venue is that it seemed to be the "place to be" for African American folks. Everyone was having a good time, eating, talking and watching the game. I ordered a seafood platter with fried shrimp and scallops. My husband had a jerk speciality platter. It was great. I remembered this place from years ago, as a pretty decent spot! When we arrived and were seated, Mom jetted to the restroom and soon after our waitress Nicole approached, introduced herself and thus began my experience. We were a party of 10, attending on a recent Sunday afternoon. Jasper's was festively lit with Christmas decorations. This brought me great joy. They don't take reservations, so we had to wait, but it was comfortable in the wait room to the left. Our Waiter, Sydney was attentive and responsive, the drinks generous and water glasses stayed fulled. You can imagine, with a party of 10 the orders would be varied. However, I'd like to point out a few dishes. The spinach dip was delicious and served eith tortilla chips and fresh crusty bread. The crab meat egg rolls were amply stuffed with very, very fresh crab meat. Order it! The shrimp and grits with andouille sausage rendered an OMG response. It's creamy, savory and infused with flavor throughout. I ordered the fried shrimp platter, replaced with cole slaw instead of fries. Again, very, very fresh seafood and a nicely crisp slaw. I went to Jasper's yesterday for curbside service during lunch time. I had 3 separate orders and gave the server 3 separate payments. What I can't seem to understand is how he charged the other two people for their meals and still managed to charge my card 6 times totaling in $92.40. My lunch special meal was $10.34. How? Even if he put all three meals together it still would not have came over $50 dollars. This establishment is clearly corrupt and should not have people handling money if they do not know what they are doing. Training is clearly needed because basic math is out the window at this point. There was a receipt right in front of you that tells you what to charge and I even handed him sticky notes with the totals on them and wrapped it around the cards. And he even handed me a receipt for $10.34 as if that's all he charged my card. I tipped the guy in cash so that can't be the excuse. I'm so glad I'm one of those people who checks their accounts daily when they purchase something. If I wasn't I may have never caught this. I used to go to Jasper's all the time but AFTER THIS I am not going back. They are just too careless. If you do go bring cash but they may mess that up too! Let's make it very clear, I enjoy this place a lot. In fact, I'm there sometimes twice a week. It clearly ain't for the superior quality or the rude ignorant manager. Yes you, short, dark skin, beard, and let's not forget ignorant with an attitude. The drinks are good and the food is predictable. The crowd and the drinks are what keeps me going to this place. Definitely not the poor excuse for management that just walks around and does nothing. You would think they would walk around trying to help the servers and ask the patrons if everything was ok. This is a place you go to when you don't feel like getting cute, but you want a drink and something to eat. Its basically like a step up from Friday's. I would advise that you only get a salmon Caesar salad. That's about it! The atmosphere is kind of hood. It's a mixture of older people and young. I tried the salmon and grits once, and it was a no. You could taste that the corn was frozen. The grits lacked flavor. This review has nothing to do with food. Stopped by on a Friday since it has been awhile since I visited Jaspers. Food was great, I ordered additional menu items to take home. Unfortunately, after driving back home my daughter pointed out her wings were missing. I called back spoke with "the manager" she stated I had to bring my order back in. I explained I lived in Ft Wash. and it didn't make since would they credit my account- no. I hung up and proceeded to pack up items and return but said I'll try again. Called back and spoke with another manager she took my table number/ receipt number and additional info and stated she would credit my card the $12(rounded). Well as of today- my bank account still reflects a total bill of $140. As I stated before I am working to patronize my community/ County.... for this I've crossed this one off my list. This is what an over well done steak looks like. I went out to eat with two friends. My order was taken for a well done steak. I cut into it and it bled into the plate. I asked for it to be taken back. I was brought back the same steak which was already done on the outside. Now with a thick burned layer. I asked for it to be done over again! The managers comes walking out like The Hulk very aggressive and confrontational, asking if I asked for the steak to be done over. Which makes no sense of your employee brought it back and relayed the message....what's the problem what did you not understand? My friends were done eating before they were even done cooking a new steak. We asked for the manager to work with us, and remove the steak from our bill. He was very rude aggressive and uncooperative. He refused to compensate us in any way for our ruined lunch date. After waiting for over 45 minutes we finally received our appetizers (warm no less) so clearly they have been sitting out. Still waiting on water after ONE HOUR.
