I have some of the worst service here. The waitress asked if we are ready to order 1 minute after sitting down. We said we needed another minute to decide. That was the last time we saw our waitress. She did manage to take the order of 2 tables that came after us. It wasn't till our third time complaining that another server had taken our order. By this time one of the tables that came after us had ordered, got served, ate, packed up their left overs and paid. We were told that they were low on staff and that was the reason for the horrible service. I stated that I understand this, but it would take 10 seconds to come by the table to apologize. The bad service still continued. We were told that they are still making our milkshake as they delivered one to another table that came after us. After the bill came they finally delivered our milkshake, but this also had errors. We asked for it to be split, which it wasn't. Everyone else in the restaurant was served in the milkshake tin (and filled to the top). Ours was in a paper to go cup and 3/4 full. They did upgrade our fries from a small to a large at no charge and the food tasted good, but after this horrible service I can't imagine ever coming back. read more

Nope. Ordered to go, The classic burger with swiss and extra onion: 7.5. Large order of onion rings: 6. Joe rang me up at $18! I didnt even think anything about it until i got back to work and looked over the menu more in depth. What happened to the difference in price? Soggy onion rings, burger that had quite a few unchewable crunchy pieces. Extra onion on burger? Was there an extra amount of onion at $4.50? Hardly. 2 people that arrived and ordered after me, were served before me. So much for open orders on the board. After paying and almost a 25 minute wait, I think i got ripped off. read more

The food has been amazing each time I've come and have not been disappointed in that aspect. Love the burgers, love the shakes. The place is always pretty busy when I come. The service has been a bit lacking each time I've come in. Inside is so small the servers can barely move around. I got a buffalo burger (great portion and moist). They have very exotic burgers, elk, buffalo, camel, kangroo. I wanted to try them all but didnt have time. Get a shake too! We are always looking for amazing food off the beaten path. We we more than pleased with Jaspers Cafe! Our server Matthew was incredible! He literally kept us all laughing, including 4 kids ranging from 8-14! My son even asked him to come open a Jaspers in California for us! Everyone loved the food, drinks and milkshakes! Be adventurous and try something new, you won't be sorry! It was even cold and rainy that day but using some of our baseball watching setup and Jaspers nice canopy and heaters we were happy and comfortable outside dining! I tried to go there my first time today but got kicked out of my table to seat people that arrived after us. My son and I arrived before my wife and sat at an empty table perusing the menu. The manager asked us if we were waiting for a to go order and I told him no we are waiting to order. He asked us to get up to move the table I said no we're fine and said he needed to move it to the sun. We compiled and he moved the table to seat the two women that had just showed up. I didn't flip out even though I was shaking (and still am) because I am so furious. My wife arrived and since our table was gone I didn't get to try the food. I do not believe I will go back and am curious if any one has ever tried the kangaroo burger? It would have been fun to try something new but when a one legged guy gets kicked out of his chair for two blonds......well I did not loose it and just wrote what happened before we went someplace else :( read more

Oh Jaspers. Such potential. So many accolades, and oh, so so much hype. And oh, so completely undeserved. For the unfamiliar, Jaspers is crammed into a tiny, tiny building. Their dining space is equally as small, and their kitchen can't possibly be more than a 10x4 space. And the place is packed full of people, so if you're the claustrophobic type, forget it. The entire time we were there, the line was at least 3-4 people deep, and often times longer. Given that, I appreciated that an employee was taking orders and prodding indecisive patrons into logical menu choices as they stood in line waiting to pay -- nothing more annoying than having someone stand there picking his nose trying to decide between a small fries or a large fries. But given the aforementioned lack of space, the line was often rubbing their butts onto your back as you tried to enjoy your meal. It was 45 minutes total from the moment I first stood in line to the point our food was delivered. I don't know that there's many places I'd tolerate that long of a wait to eat. We're regulars at Pine State in the PDX, and the wait is never that long. Nor is at Roscoe's in LA. Or San Tung in SF. There were just as many people at the Grill 'Em All truck, and we were served in less than 20 minutes. And guess what -- their burgers were exponentially better and certainly worth the wait. And it's the food truck factor why I won't cut Jaspers any slack. Food trucks are utilizing just as little kitchen space, yet they're consistently more efficient at getting orders out. I mean really dudes. Almost an hour to serve fast food burgers? Get out of here with that nonsense! What's too bad is the food is actually pretty decent. I appreciate that it was fresh beef and not frozen. And while they did go a little overboard on the yellow mustard, it was still seasoned pretty well. It's a decent burger -- typical mom & pop burger joint fare. And let's not forget these are greaseball patties that are cooked on a flat-top, and not char-grilled. But let's get real dudes. This is Medford. "Best of Medford" of course means essentially mediocre, but the poor neglected folks here just don't know any better. Sure, they've got some "gourmet" varieties here, but it's nothing that's worth waiting through the ridiculous lines. It's a firm, "meh, I've had better." Check it out. I reserve my phantom 5-star for the rare treat of having something edibly incredible in it's category & extra-effort overly accommodating service. Delicious and welcoming. My friend and I wanted a burger and started asking around where we should go and everyone we talked to said Jaspers. We split a Smokey and the Bandit and got an order of tumbleweeds to share. I also had a glass of their house red, a generous pour and went well with the burger. It was busy, the staff is amazing! They were all helpful and attentive and kind. The burger was cooked perfectly and the bun was delicious and the aioli just right. How can you go wrong with a pace that serves a burger called the "Hotel California?" My husband and I just completed a 2 week road trip through Oregon & Washington and we ate at Jaspers twice! Both times I had the pleasure of ordering the Hotel California & hubby tried a different burger each time. All burgers were superb.... definitely not a fast food joint! Been here over an hour for a to-go order. Wanted to dine in, but they said 45 min wait. Meanwhile they told us to wait in the roasting asphalt parking lot for our order. Found Jaspers on a chowhound thread that discussed decent diners just off of I-5. I was on a roadtrip from Seattle to Sacramento and Medford seemed like the right place to stop. We got in there around 1pm and it seemed like the lunch rush was still going on. Ordered a veggie burger and an antelope burger...managed to snag one of the inside tables after about 10 minutes of waiting The fries were pretty greasy and soggy..... I enjoyed the veggie burger, but it really was a mess to eat. Home mad patty was loose and just kind of smooshed onto the bun. Husband did not like the antelope at all...don't knwo what his expectations were, but it didn't impress him. Yesterday my salon girls and I door dashed jaspers. Our order consist of 3 burgers with fries. All three burgers were the Classic burgers with cheese once add bacon, once without lettuce and tomato add pickle. All three arrived with No lettuce, onion or tomato. No pickles. Clearly they were super busy but when I called to let me know our order was al made wrong all I got was a rude response from a girl saying "I don't know how that would happen considering al order get double looked by 3 people, I will have to take you phone number and call you back" She made me feel like I was making it up that our burgers were not made the way it said. It's super frustrating when you don't get what you ordered let alone no returning phone call. This burger has peanut butter, raspberry chipotle sauce, and bacon. This isn't the first time I've heard of peanut butter on a burger, but it is the first time I have tried it... Wow! These burgers are amazing! There are so many options to choose from that I'll have to schedule another dozen trips to get a handle on the variety. Today I had the Ghengis Khan. It was supposed to be antelope, but they were out so I had elk. Then it has pork potstickers on top with a sweet chile sauce and a chile mayo. There's also some carmelized onions on there. I can't get over how bizarre I thought it was on the menu and how tough I thought it would be to eat. Man, was I wrong... The flavor was great and the potstickers stayed on the bun as easy as an onion ring would. All in all, it was fantastic! Very disappointing. I love their burgers but when we went in there others were served, other people had their orders taken and we were kind of ignored. After we were finally acknowledged by the waitress, she continued to clear other tables and walk by us. Still not taking our order, no water, nothing. When she continued to start washing tables I waved at her to ask that our order be taken and she shouted that she had to clean the tables first. When we rose to leave she said "that's ok, leave."
