The ambiance is early 2000s decor with arcade games, pinball, and mood lighting. It seemed cool enough, but I came on a Saturday night and the place was deserted. Not sure when it would otherwise be vibing. The burger itself was very oily, dripping wet, and unseasoned. It had almost soaked through the bottom bun. Not much flavor. The fries were thin-cut in the spirit of McDonald's, and pretty good. Overall I don't think I'll give this one another go. read more

Definitely a dive bar and it was pretty good. I ordered a bacon burger with fries. The burger was above average good, but a bit too small for me and what I paid, but the burger was good. I thought I could have gotten a bit more fries for the price too. The service was very good and friendly. I ordered a draft beer while I waited and it was served in an ice cold glass, which made the beer very good. I love the chilled glass. Great burgers, truly gluten free bun and fries. We both had the Holy Mole; beef burger, bacon, home made guacamole, Ortega chili, cheese and red pepper all on a tender flaky gluten free bun. (Not the frozen microwaved bun) Only thing that would have made this better is home cut fries. Service was outstanding, very positive and informative about the gluten free options and friendly. Glad I found this gem of a place! Their burgers are DELICIOUS. The menu is simple, which is appreciated and given how great their burgers are, they do not need an extensive menu. I also had a side of tater tots, which were good. The staff are uber laid back, welcoming, kind, and accommodating. The inside decor is soooo cool...mostly music-related decor. A solid burger. Had the bacon and cheese (cheddar) burger (beef). Asked for my onions to be grilled and no pickles, and my modifications were kindly made. There are a variety of fountain drinks. The fries are crisp. I really like the sauces provided (ketchup, ranch, mayo, I'm not a fan of mustard though). I want to try the biscuits another time. The menu doesn't overwhelm you with choices but you can still customize your burger to be vegetarian or chicken, and a few choices of cheeses. There is a bathroom for women and one for men in the back. The decor is interesting and full of posters of old classics. Casual location and reasonable price. Located in downtown Medford. read more

We were traveling south to California and this looked like a great place. It was mid-afternoon and they weren't at all busy. We had to review our order several times before the person at the counter got it right. We expected fantastic burgers, but they were nothing special except for being freshly made. Condiments are served on the side. We had to wait for one root beer float and killer onion rings. The rings are described as killer, they were huge but sorely lacking in flavor. All in all a bit pricey and disappointing. The atmosphere is fun with nostalgic art and record labels on the walls. There is live music some nights. read more

I've been here twice and really liked it. The first time I came, my burger was pretty much perfect, but the second time, it was a bit burnt. Also ate in the second time and found that the bathrooms really needed some work and the tables felt kind of grimy, which in these times is unfortunately kind of a big yikes for me. Fast food didn't sound good but a burger did, so thought I'd give this place a try as we passed through town. Maybe my review would be better if I dined in but my order was to-go. Ordering was easy and I was happy to order a beer at the bar while waiting for my food. The restaurant was not busy so the staff pretty much stayed by themselves chatting, with no interaction with the few patrons. My food was brought to me and I was asked if I wanted fry sauce or ranch. I said yes to the fry sauce. When I got back to the motel and gave my wife her burger, she opened it up and said there are not any condiments on it. I looked at mine and it was the same way. Good thing I had some fry sauce to add. Also there were no napkins in the bag. While the burgers were tasty, they do need to do more work for the to-go orders. Not everyone taking food to-go are going home. I'm sure if you are dining in, you can get all the condiments and napkins you like. If I'm back this way again, I'd give it another try but probably more likely to just go to the Red Robin down the road. read more

this was our last stop in oregon on our way back home to california , we met up with a friend who recommended this place to us for lunch & we had just got some really nice burgers in portland (lay low tavern check out my review !) so at first we weren't too enthusiastic for burgers again but we were pleasantly surprised with great customer service very personable you can tell there are real genuine regulars who come in daily. i got my usual burger order which is a western bbq burger & i was happy there were onion rings on this , they were thiner than usual which made it a new experience i enjoyed a lot , my partner got the pineapple jalapeño burger which he said was delicious you got a good bite of jalapeño & pineapple each bite & we each got sweet potato fries with our order no additional cost which was pretty nice , definitely was a perfect way to end our trip here :) read more

Best burger in town (even beating In-N-Out). Cooked to order fresh burgers with lots of customization options, plus great fries and onion rings. The walls are decorated with a cool old-school rock theme. We were here at the end of April, right before Medford restaurants got shut down again by the governor. Hopefully they're back to normal now (though you never know when yet another lockdown is coming, with the way the authorities keep moving the goalposts). I picked my son up from the airport in Medford and we stopped at this place before heading to Roseburg. My only regret is that we could not dine in due to the pandemic. We ordered the bacon burger, the cheeseburger and two burgers with jalapeño and pineapple. The jalapeño and pineapple burger was the bomb. The burgers weren't over cooked and the sweet paired with spicy is always a great hit. We ordered the combo meals that came with a small drink and a side of tater tot's, shoestring french fries, sweet potato fries or you can upgrade to onion rings for a dollar more. If you like onion rings, you must have these ones. I read in another review that they were homemade. They probably are the best onion rings I've ever had. They are very large and you get a generous portion. The batter is nice and crispy. They offer homemade fry sauce for the fries and ranch as well. Sorry there are no pics of the food but we had to eat in the car. Maybe next time since we will definitely be back. The staff was extremely helpful answering questions about the burgers and had A laid-back vibe that reminds me of a ski hill. The formula is generally pretty straightforward and simple here, and that's a plus. There are some nifty configurations too. You can swap out the burger for a grilled chicken breast. Swap out fries for tater tots. Don't just jump for the basic burger before considering your options here. Definitely get the fry sauce. I have no idea what it is exactly, but I like it better than ketchup. Some type of orangey mayo hybrid of yum. A good intro choice is their double cheeseburger lunch special. No configuration options with that, but it's a really good value deal. My experience with service has been outstandingly friendly. Sometimes a little slow, but they make to order, so don't expect a fast food experience. I wouldn't recommend the chicken biscuit options...they might sound good, but they are a little messy, and I find the biscuits a little dry too. Otherwise, good stuff, so go for it! read more

I finally got around to trying a burger at Burger Spot, a restaurant that has been in downtown Medford for years. For decades now I have been causing serious injury to my palate by choking down cheaply produced hamburgers from national chain restaurants, all the while foolishly believing that I was dining in style. It turns out that Medford has some of the best hamburger joints around that leaves places like McDonald's and even In-N-Out with a lot to be desired. I have discovered four solid hamburger restaurants in the Medford area including Jasper's Cafe, Barney's Burgers, Krusty's Pizza and Deli and now, Burger Spot! I recently discovered that Burger Spot is Medford's second highest rated burger restaurant, according to Yelp. But as usual I like to see for myself if the reviews are accurate. I like that Burger Spot is a quaint little eatery housed within one of Medford's historical buildings. I tried to find out more information about the building or at the very least uncover details about the business, but I haven't learned anything about any of that. What I can tell you is that the quarter pound burgers are juicy, and they have an irresistible char broiled flavor. The ingredient are fresh, if not sourced from a local garden. Even the buns are baked from scratch, or so I have read. The ambience is cool, too. Much like other restaurants located downtown, the walls are decorated with rock n' roll memorabilia. You'll see numerous pictures of Bob Marley, Jimmy Hendrix, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson along with their most popular vinyl records proudly on display. The restaurant music is provided by an antique radio and today they played music from my youth. I ate my burger, which was topped with grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and jalapeños and last but not least, crunchy bacon strips while listening to the strains of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit. I felt like I was back in high school watching MTV in the cafeteria with my friends. For that experience alone I am already endeared to Burger Spot. I just realized that all of the world's most talented musicians died at a young age. They didn't live very long but they changed the world forever. I had to choose between sweet potato fries and onion rings for a side dish. Fortunately I knew from consulting Yelp that I needed to try the onion rings. They were huge. The onion rings are hand made, and it shows. The onion slices were thick and the batter was light and crispy. After eating my food I was quite full. So full in fact that I unbuttoned my shorts and held my stomach the way a pregnant woman does, I suppose. Still, I couldn't bring myself to leave Burger Spot until I tried their signature Root beer float. Even this usually mundane beverage was a sight to behold. It was served in a real glass mug that was chilled. It was beautiful. I don't know how they did it, but they managed to use the sweetest, creamiest and smoothest vanilla ice cream that I have ever had. I thought perhaps they churn their own homemade ice cream right there in the restaurant. The root beer was also better than I'm used to. I swear that it too was the real McCoy, made from scratch. True root beer is made from sassafras root bark, winter green leaves, sarsaparilla root, licorice root, ginger root and many other herbs. I don't know for absolute certain if my root beer float was 100% made from scratch but I have a sneaking suspicion that it was. Could it be that Burger Spot's root beer floats are what beat out Barney's Better Burgers? They offer a comprehensive list of milkshakes. If that's the reason, well I'm not surprised and I can't help wonder if Burger Shot deserves to be number one! They deserve high marks for everything that they create in their kitchen! Burger Spot, I am impressed! This goes without saying but the service is great too. The food servers are friendly and it doesn't take long for the burger to go from the grill to my plate, and finally to my stomach. Man do I love this sandwich shop! Luigi's has been a Medford institution for many years. All but one small shop unfortunately went under. I am glad this one place I'd trudging on. The Luigi's "garbage grinder" is world famous. Often imitated but never perfected! My favorite sandwich is the Hawaiian grinder with extra cheese and extra bake. My Lord is it so good and such a carb overload! Be ready for a nap afterwards. Hahaha. But in all seriousness Luigi's is a great place and it affordable for what you get. A full large grinder feeds my wife and I both 2 meal. Its only has like 4 seats inside and 4 more outside so take out is the best, especially with the Covid issues...but go support them, keep the doors open to this special little sandwich shop! read more
