50 minute wait to get our half our order. Waitress called me "honey" a bunch of times to tell me I never ordered the items that our whole family heard me order. Ordered a chili dog..."honey, you never ordered that". Ordered three lemonades on top of the two that came with the children's orders...."honey, you only ordered two"(which they forgot to give us any lemonade. They forgot our fries. And they forgot one of our hamburgers. They forgot half the order. Told me I didn't order most of what I ordered. Had us wait for an hour for our food. Food actually tasted good. We are so-cal natives so when we dropped down in Medford we were comforted to see an In-N-Out in OR. But LUCKILY we found Jasper's on Yelp instead. I got the Garlic Bleu Outlaw and she got the Little Yellow Jacket. Surprisingly, the Outlaw was smaller than the Little Yellow Jacket. But I think it was more delicious nonetheless. Got the Elk on mine. First time trying Elk and it didn't disappoint. Hers was really good too. She loved it. Tots were also delicious, and that cherry/huckleberry shake... Amazing. Not a bad joint at all. Was passing through yesterday and came across Jasper's Cafe. We stopped as a family, got my kids some corndogs and fries. Corndogs were slightly overcooked but nothing a 3 year old cares about. I got myself The Duke, on grass fed beef. Delicious! Bun was nice and soft, fresh veggies, clean flavor of the meat, etc. We decided to get a small sweet potato fries, and a small tater tots. I'm not a tator tot person. Never have been even when I was a kid. But these tator tots were incredible and the sweet potato fires were even better. The waitresses were very nice, friendly with my kids and it all worked out nicely. The one downside is that it's a small place and there are a lot of outside seating, which is nice except when the wind is howling. Definately will be coming back next time I'm through Medford. read more

There is limited seating inside but on a beautiful day, there is wonderful seating outside. It is on a busy road and so you do hear some car noise. Just tried this place for the first time based on Yelp reviews and walked away disappointed. I had the elk blue cheese burger with regular onions instead of grilled, and fries. 45 minutes later it arrived (I didn't really care about the wait, they were busy and the food is supposed to be good). On first bite I had no idea what all the fuss is about. Cold, dry bun that adds nothing to the meal other than me drinking more water. A LIGHTLY BUTTERED AND TOASTED BUN IS THE FIRST STEP OF STEPPING UP YOUR BURGER GAME! The elk patty was eh. The blue cheese was eh. Way to much lettuce, okay onions. I think it may of had tomato and pickles too. The fries come in a paper lined metal cup, are as warm as you'd expect from a heat lamp, limp, and undercooked mush (if you hold a French fry horizontal it should be able to support itself). The other thing is seating. I don't mind a small place but don't ask me to share my table with strangers. A mouth full of food is a horribly uncomfortable way to get to know someone. An elderly couple came in just after I got my food, sat on the waiting bench, and looked at me like table vultures the whole time I was eating Again, I'm not drinking the koolaid. Hello. Without Hyperbole I would like to say Jaspers is slipping in quality in a severe way. I used to go here all the time. As of late our burgers have been smaller, cooked much beyond "medium well". This time was the last straw. Our fries were rock hard, and sure maybe that was grub hubs fault. Maybe. Our burger though was plenty warm. Only problem was is was tiny, and overcooked yet again. This is extremely disappointing from such a local treasure. I will not be eating Jaspers and will inform anyone I meet to not patronize them any longer. There is just something so depressing about writing this. Here I am though. I am sorry Jaspers, I love you, but what the hell guys. Would you pay 20 dollars for cold fries and a child sized patty drowning in ranch? read more

From Southern California, two week road trip, on the final leg home, it was hard to drive past the chain restaurants/drive-thru's just off the Interstate in Medford, Oregon BUT am I glad we did! As we left Salem Oregon, Medford was the halfway point and a good place to stop for fuel and lunch. Thumbing through social media websites before we set out, I found Jasper's. Just a couple minutes of the I-5, Jasper's Café was well worth the extra time. No franchise/national chain burgers here, rather an inconceivable diverse cacophony of hamburger pleasures from basic classics to extravagant gastrointestinal epicurean delights with meat selections including all-natural grass fed Oregon beef, Canadian Free Range Elk, Wild Boar, Wild Camel, Wild Kangaroo, Dakota Free Range Bison, Texas Beef, Asian Free Range Axis Deer, and Cajun BBQ pulled pork!!! Who doesn't love a place that offers Tater Tots instead of French fries!?! Served with creamy gourmet dripping sauces all fried food at Jasper's is cooked in peanut oil! Besides the "Tots", we ordered a Smokey and the Bandit (Smoked gouda/Swiss, bacon, chipotle aioli, classic style on a Kaiser Bun), a Western Hawaiian Cowboy (Honey-Bourbon-Chipotle BBQ sauce, grilled onions, Texas style BBQ sauce, tomato, bacon & cheddar, with a slice of fresh pineapple), and a Chicago Dog (Kosher beef dog, chopped onions, tomatoes, relish, mustard, a dill spear and a hot pepper). The Smokey and the Bandit was succulent, cooked to perfection, and as HUGE as it was good. The Western, as ordered by my 12 year old Grandson, was tasty and juicy; he could not eat all of it ... which gave me a chance to sample a bite! It was excellent, well-seasoned, and moist. Oh the Chicago Dog. My wife first fell in love with Chicago Dogs when she was pregnant with our second child 30 years ago. She is VERY demanding about her Chicago Dogs having tasted many over the ensuing years/decades since then. She destroyed this one in record time saving her loving husband a small bite. It tasted magnificent!!! If you're Medford bound or passing through, please do drive past the plethora of chains next to the Interstate and give Jasper's a try. I came here because my girlfriend really wanted onion rings. We saw the place was busy so we felt like we should keep the order simple. When we arrived, there were several cars, but not yet overly crowded. We were told it would be 20 minutes for the food. It kind of seemed like a long time but we figured it must be some amazing onion rings. The place within minutes became crowded so we feel like we lucked out...no. I went to check after 20 minutes and it still wasn't ready. It wasn't until 35 minutes in total were they finally delivered the food. Unfortunately, there was only one onion ring that was in the shape of a ring, whereas the rest seemed like they were all apart or soggy. Not to mention the food was barely warm which means they set our food aside and made everyone else's even though we arrived first. Total waste of money and time. When first moving to Medford, everyone suggested trying this place. So I did. It was packed I couldn't wait to try their food. It was really compact inside and didn't have anywhere to sit and wait. You're shoulder to shoulder standing in there. As I was waiting in line, a regular comes in and was greeted by the server. I knew it was my turn to be seated, because the couple ahead was seated. Instead, the regular that just walked in took my spot to be seated. Huh??? I didn't know if this was a thing where you can maybe call ahead to get seated? Oh it was raining and cold outside I just wanted to sit and eat. I ALMOST left because of this. Food was alright, I never returned after that. I've mentioned multiple times that it was my first time here but If you're not a regular, you won't get the same service. read more

We stick to our tried-and-true favorites (basic burgers, jerk chicken sandwich, any of their fries) but to be totally honest we often choose this place simply because sitting outside and being able to let our daughter play on the lawn while we enjoy a beer and lunch close to home is a rare find. They are very kid-friendly and when we have come early before it gets busy, they have let us put out a blanket next to our table for the baby. (Started doing that after we saw a family do the same when we first ate here) Servers are all awesome. My husband always says he wishes he could steal them to work at his business. Haha! I've been coming here since I was very very young. Probably around six or seven. I'm 21 now. So I've been a loyal customer to this place for years, quite frankly, it has the best burgers in town the past couple times, I've went however, I've been a palled by the customer service that I received. We don't need to talk about the last time, but today, when I went to order me, and my friend to burgers, they gave his burger to us, completely smashed, like it was fucking flat lol. And I was super specific about everything that I wanted in my burger, I wanted avocado, tomato, pickle, onion, and lettuce. They didn't put any of the vegetables on there, besides avocado. I had to go back in and they gave me a little box with all vegetables minus the pickle lol. And I also said that I want to catch up and they gave us like every sauce, except catch-up, which was really weird because I don't even eat anything but catch up. Like I was so specific, and they still manage to mess up the whole order, and then on top of that the dumb bitch who took our order named Ashley, she blamed it on the kitchen when I went in there, and I've seen the same fucking people that have been there for years. Just landed in Medford on our way to Eureka, CA we were looking for a good place to eat and that's when I stumbled upon the highly reviewed Jasper's cafe. The restaurant inside is much smaller than I thought and could only maybe serve 5 small groups inside. They luckily had seating outside even though it wasn't the greatest weather for it. We were are all eager to get burgers especially myself because I wanted to try some exotic meats. I always heard great things about axis deer so I had to go with the widowmaker with French frys. The burger was much bigger than I thought it would be but it was a welcomed surprise. I'm not a fan of burgers that when you take a bite into they just kinda fall apart after the first bite but it's alright. The axis deer was delicious and all the toppings went well with it. The French fries were alright but nothing great. My coworker ordered the philly cheese steak and mentioned the sandwich was really dry. I wish I would've spent more time in the area to try some more of the unique array of burgers. read more

The Lone Ranger is what I usually get but when I'm feeling daring I go for the kangaroo burger. It's amazing that you're not limited to just one kind of meat.
