Repaired a broken pipe at a fair price. Can't beat it. Very responsive and explained every step of the way.

Following my terrible experience and that of my neighbors, I doubt it will last much longer. Called for a leaking carbon monoxide (CO) issue with an existing steam boiler that was promptly addressed by the company. However, after their visit, the CO continued to be emitted from the boiler through CO detectors, prompting the fire department and PSE&G to intervene, who also detected high readings. Today, I called to inform them that CO detection was still ongoing. The owner, an angry, short-tempered know-it-all, cut me off and yelled, "NO, THERE IS NOT, THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS MY ENTIRE LIFE. WE FIXED THE PROBLEM. PAY THE INVOICE AND WE WON'T HAVE ANY ISSUES." I firmly told him that his attitude was unacceptable and that I would not pay until the issue was resolved. He laughed manically and said, "THANKS FOR SAYING THAT YOU WON'T PAY, BUDDY. THIS CALL IS RECORDED" before hanging up. I called back and calmly reiterated that I will not pay without resolution and that following his anger and yelling, I wasn't sure I trust them to touch the boiler again. The owner laughed again, said "GREAT, WE DON'T WANT YOUR BUSINESS", claimed that I didn't have to pay the invoice, and hung up again, likely because he realized he was in the wrong. It's unfortunate that the company's initial kindness turned sour when there was any potential for accountability or conflicts with their labor. I will recommend this company only to people I hate. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Although he argued that I was not charged twice for a service, I absolutely was but having dealt with his temperament in the past I decided not to argue with him and just paid him another $204 for the toilet to be unclogged again when it hadn't been unclogged during the first visit. I WILL NEVER USE THEIR SERVICES AGAIN. I will also make sure to warn my friends and community members as well on all social media outlets and review boards. I really don't know how they are in business after 114 years?! Scammers.

We have a toddler, and he would need to walk through our child's play area where our son is barefoot, so this request was made for basic cleanliness and sanitation. When he arrived, his attitude was extremely poor and unfriendly. Despite the prior request, he did not remove his shoes. When we politely reminded him, he sighed and left the house without informing anyone. The job was never completed. Throughout the interaction, we were polite and courteous, and there was no justification for his behavior. This was highly unprofessional, and I would not recommend his services.

Michael was quick to respond to my inquiry and visited the house to check out the problem. He was very knowledgeable and explained where the leak was coming from. He answered any questions I had and came back the following day after discussing with my family. He was quick and efficient, very respectful of the property, as well. Pricing is very reasonable too! Side note.. I found out he had previously done work at my family home because he was familiar with the downstairs bathroom. He had helped with a clog and I wouldn't have thought there was any issue to begin with because he did such a good job! Highly recommended.

If he doesn't answer your call directly, he will return your call well within 24 hours if it isn't an emergency and within minutes for emergency calls. I have been using him since 1996 for various plumbing jobs and just this past month I gave him the business of converting our old oil burner to a natural gas one. He personally came for the estimate and even measured our radiators to put the perfect sized boiler in. He and his staff had the entire job done in 2 days. We were out of heat for only hours. I recommend this plumber for all your plumbing needs for people in the Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, Montclair and surrounding areas.

Scott Lowe has serviced our home and has arrived on time and works fast. Sometimes when you call you do get a voice mail but the calls are usually returned that day. What I appreciate is that their business has been in the area for decades (I believe Scott is the grandson of the founder) and he is very honest, and will not do work that is not needed immediately. He even told me to wait on one repair and save the money for now. Many plumbers would not do that (at least ones I worked with in the past). I would highly recommend Franklin Lowe and Sons, good service and honest work.

Hire this company if you want your house to go on fire…read more We hired this company to come out and perform routine maintenance on our steam boiler. This boiler is less than 10 years old and was in perfect working condition as well as our thermostat. The first minor issue we encountered is that Chris Stamp and his assistant arrived to our home 3 hours after they were supposed to arrive. I assumed they were busy so I decided to give them some slack. After an hour or so of the two men banging things in the basement, they came upstairs to ensure the heat would turn on. As they turned up our thermostat, a red glow and smoke fumes soon emitted from the thermostat. Chris Stamp's assistant began immediately yelling to turn off the power since the thermostat wires appeared to be on fire. Chris however, did not seem enthused and simply stated "its ok its low voltage." As I write this review I will admit I am not a licensed electrician but it does not seem normal nor safe to have a fire in the wall since it is only "low voltage." After a while of fussing with the thermostat and ripping it off our wall in the process, Chris decided he would just change the thermostat. Chris did not know how to install a simple thermostat and had to phone a friend for this simple endeavor. This seemed strange for a plumber who does HVAC...But okay the saga continues... Of course, this did not solve the problem as our boiler still was not turning on at this point. At this point, Chris and his assistant began yelling at each other and could not figure out what to do. As the mystery fire and electrical issue ensue, Chris decided this is no longer his problem to solve and we need to just contact an electrician for the problem he created. Chris then happily demanded $340 dollars for boiler maintenance. I asked Chris how are you going to charge me for "cleaning a boiler" when all you did was break the boiler and start a fire in the wall? Chris then told me he did me a favor by "installing a thermostat" which he did not know how to install lol. Chris and his assistant then happily departed with their check in hand as we are left with a recent fire in the wall and no heat. We then hired a competent plumber who diagnosed this issue immediately. The wires in our pressure valve box shorted due to moisture which shorted the rest of the unit, likely due to incorrect servicing of the boiler by the previous plumber. At this point, the LWCOV, pressure valve, and other wires needed to be replaced entirely. This resulted in an unfortunate bill of $1000 to fix the previous inept "plumbers." All in all, I seriously doubt Stamp Plumbing and Heating are even a real company, let alone licensed professionals. The reviews on here have to be largely fake. I urge you to steer clear of these scam artists as the only heat you'll have is from the fire they started in your home instead of a functioning boiler.
