Spark Handyman is brilliant. I initially called Sam to mount a 55" television to the wall on an ergonomic mount - he was friendly, respectful, and had it done in no time. Later, I had bought six bamboo curtains that are ceiling mounted, but didn't realize that my ceiling was reinforced with concrete. I bought a rotary hammer but still wasn't strong enough to drill the holes myself. Turns out there was more than concrete reinforcing that ceiling! Sam came over in the evening less than half a day after I reached out (30 minutes out of the way on a workday) and stayed for two HOURS trying several different methods of puncturing that forcefield of a ceiling. It was evening and he didn't have access to the drill that was needed - I got the wrong one. When it was clear it wasn't going to happen, he insisted that I not pay him since he didn't get the job done (he reluctantly accepted a tip eventually). Weeks later he sent me a message of wooden curtains he had just put up in another home and offered me a discount to get mine up with the right tools this time. I had already found a solution at this point, but learned it had really bothered him he hadn't been able to complete the service. Sam is a man of his word. He works quickly, he's affable and kind but I could not for the life of me get him to stop calling me "ma'am" or apologize. He's the man for the job!! read more

I've hired NYC Emergency Repairs on two separate occasions, and both experiences were outstanding. The first was for a major electrical project where they replaced my electrical panel and upgraded the system. They took the time to explain everything, completed the work professionally, and left everything clean when they were finished. I felt confident knowing the job was done correctly and safely. The second time was during a plumbing emergency at the property I manage. Our regular plumber was unexpectedly unavailable due to an illness, and NYC Emergency Repairs stepped in on very short notice. They responded quickly, diagnosed the problem, and resolved it efficiently, helping us avoid what could have become a much bigger issue. In both situations, they were professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and dependable. It's hard to find contractors who consistently show up when you need them most, but this company has earned my trust. I highly recommend NYC Emergency Repairs for anyone looking for reliable electrical or plumbing services. I'll definitely continue calling them whenever I need help. read more

The experience was fast and efficient, and yeah I requested a service and received service Nothing was draining in my shower, then sink, and finally the toilet, then it overflowed - that's when I finally called - should have called earlier. Didn't know what to expect. Was impressed with the shoe covers like they wear in hospitals so that nothing got tracked around, literally that's what was on my mind, was having someone I didn't know do this and in my place. Probably could tell talking to me that it was a big thought on my mind. Literally the inspiration for this review was the cleanliness precautions I saw and doing the plumbing without the place being in disarray. So yes, a great value. Will recommend and would use again read more

My A/C stopped working entirely early on a Saturday morning, after tripping out the circuit breaker several times during a heat wave. I contacted Yelp, and Sam sent a response to my request within an hour. I got back to him just before noon. He asked for some photos of the breaker box and outlet, did a quick assessment of what seemed to be needed, and he was at my apartment before 1 PM. He completely fixed the problem before 2 PM. This was absolutely the fastest response from any contractor I've ever hired. He did a great job at a reasonable price. I highly recommend him and would hire NYC Emergency for other jobs in the future. read more

Sam is an excellent handyman, and I highly recommend working with him. His work on my first project last month was professional, timely, and well executed. Because of that experience, I immediately brought him back to handle several additional maintenance items that had been sitting in the backlog at my rental property. His communication is outstanding. Even while managing multiple projects, he consistently keeps clients updated on progress and delivers exactly what he promises. I would gladly work with him again on future projects. read more

Sam was fantastic! My water heater failed on a Sunday, and he responded quickly to my emergency call. He arrived on time, replaced the water heater professionally, and made sure everything was working perfectly before he left. He was knowledgeable, honest, and respectful, and his pricing was fair. Hired Spark Emergency Repairs via instagram. I needed to install an ac and heating unit in my shed. The tech was polite and did a great job with cutting a hole on the back wood wall of the shed for the exhaust. He hooked up hoses for drainage and sealed it. The shed is now cooling properly. It took about an hour and half. I recommend them and would hire them again. Thank so much for the quick turn around, just in time for the heat wave. Angela read more

Very quick to come to my apartment and check on the HVAC/AC issue. He was so thorough and very respectful. The best part was the communication throughout the process - letting me know what he was working on, potential causes, potential solutions, timing etc. Hired for a second opinion after another guy came through and they went above and beyond compared to the first guy!!! read more

did not use. could not agree on the price for the job . After spending the better part of the day exchanging texts about the job with him he quoted me a price that was outrageous for the amount of work that needed to be done for this repair. That's all I have to say about this experience with Mr Sam. read more
