San Gabriel Park is huge, scenic, and with pristine manicured grounds. There is a little something for everyone - playground for children, walking and cycling trails for adults and fishing for adults as well. Quite honestly, I was surprised to see how many folks were fishing in the San Gabriel River. San Gabriel Park is located along the San Gabriel River. Although the San Gabriel Park is quite large, it has the feel of being absolutely serene simultaneously. The park has picnic tables, places to sit along the river and places to hang out if you want to meditate or take in the park's beauty alone. This park is definitely family-centric with playgrounds, open fields, and shaded areas for picnics or self-discovery.

Dana Peak Park offers many trails, lake side views with fishing, and places to park. The trails are…read moremarked for your reference. The trails are for hiking and bicycling. It is also dog friendly. Pretty much dirt trails, so after rains, it can get muddy, but we are in Texas, so that only happens occasionally. You can get several miles in on the various trails. Others are friendly and willing to point you in the right direction. I've been here a couple of times now and enjoyed both times. I do recommend hiking with someone else in case of emergencies. You never know when you might come across a snake, so be safe!

The atmosphere is peaceful and serene. There is something about walking through nature while deer frolic along side you.... It forces you to reflect on your life and others who may be or no longer may be in your life. There are many trails, waterfront views, and quietness! Go with a friend, go with a pet, or go alone, either way it's a great place to get fresh air, exercise and mental clarity.

We play some Pokémon, grab ourselves a coffee at the nearby Starbucks, which is walking distance or even Whataburger, from across the street and go eat at the park. There's plenty to do and places to grab food, just a walk away. Lots of Amazing people we have met on our walks plus they have a fab playground and community garden. During the warmer months, a pool to spend time on this hot Texas days with kiddos. It's also a fabulous PET FRIENDLY PARK! Basketball area, huge pond with ducks, a pavilion and a plethora of seating areas! Trees to cool you down. Along the walking path are little workout areas with equipment. Ultimately, our favorite go-to location!! I'll definitely grab pics next visit!!

Surprisingly, the river is very large and makes a path through San Gabriel Park up to Leander, TX. The river flows through at least two small towns and creates a peaceful persona. There are carved out hike and bike trails, which allows you to take in the beauty of the river as you enjoy exercise of your choice. Folks actually fish in the San Gabriel River. In addition, you can see individuals and families sitting on the banks of the San Gabriel River totally taking in its beauty. In addition, you could see individuals playing games in the park as well. The park runs along the San Gabriel River, adding to its natural beauty with some stunning views. There's a great playground for kids, well-maintained trails, and plenty of open space to explore. One really helpful feature: restrooms are located along some of the hiking trails, which makes longer visits much more convenient. It feels quiet and tucked away, but still easy to access--perfect for a quick escape into nature without leaving town. Whether you're looking to get active or just relax outdoors, this park is definitely worth a visit.

Playground canopy covers offer some shade. There's a walking trail nearby and we saw a lot of folks from the neighborhood walking their dogs. There was one large dog without a leash so just keep a close eye. Saw a couple doggy poop bag stations which is always helpful (as long as people actually use them). Some covered picnic benches here too. No restrooms. Small parking lot. I feel like this park doesn't get too much action since it's so hidden. I found a bag of Buzzballz in the playground (threw it out) so obviously teenagers are using it. A nice option if you're looking for quietude.

This is a nice little public park in the Georgetown area nestled behind residential homes. You'll…read morefind about a dozen parking spots along with several picnic tables scattered throughout the property, both covered and uncovered. The park has some very nicely designed play scapes with swings and the entire property is ringed by trees and cacti. Towards the back of the park, you'll come across a primitive trail that is flanked by cacti which runs behind many of the homes in the area. However, the paved and primitive trails do not link up to any other trails in the area. There is also makeshift softball field, albeit not very large. What you will not find here are public bathrooms, grills, and a water fountain.

Wow, this is a hidden gem. It is genuinely an "international" sculpture park. In 1976, a local…read moresculptor invited 26 sculptors from 6 different countries to Liberty Hill, where they worked for 2 months and created giant statues for the park. It was originally located downtown but was eventually vandalized (gross). It was subsequently moved to the Lions Foundation Park. It can be accessed through there (355 Loop 332) or through Louine Noble Elementary School (101 Loop 332). There is ample parking on either side. This is a great spot for parents to take young kids. It's a big area with lots of art pieces (26 as previously mentioned). Kids have lots of space to run around and interact with the art, if they'd like (just watch your little ones carefully as they can obviously bump their heads). There is a little tree grove nearby for shade. Plenty of beautiful wildflowers. Last but not least, there's even a public playground. There's a private playground just for the school that's fenced off but there is another one that's accessible (slides, swings, etc.). There is some sort of local museum located in the Lions Foundation Park. We didn't get to see it since it was closed on Sunday. They also host some sort of sculpture festival here (October 10, 2026). Anyway, awesome (free) spot. Highly recommended for parents or anyone who loves sculpture (a lot of interesting pieces here).
