If you want absolute quiet and a nice place to relax, this park might just be for you.
While you won't find sandy beaches and a roped off swim area, you will find:
-Quiet places to set up day camp with LOTS of space between you and others
-A very quiet lake (it gets a bit more noisy on weekends, but still nothing compared to Lake Belton.
The "beach" is made up of large white limestone rocks which can make it tricky to set up for the day, but this is what keeps most other people out. :)
Bring your own shade as there are NO large trees or shaded picnic areas. A beach umbrella can be set up near the water and a pop-up shade tent can be set up-at a level picnic table.
There is a small, brick-sided restroom house on the premises.
The best part about this park? IT'S FREE! There is no fee for using the lake area or the boat ramp. But, shhhhh! Don't tell everyone. :) read more
