My nephew was extremely excited!!I noticed that everything was thoroughly thought out. The entrance gate is slightly heavy (two to pass through. Other area were the same (heavy gates to prevent kids from entering the paved areas without permission & help. There were several areas to play: sensory areas, sand box (large), agility, strength training for the littles, and a cute township area where kids can ride (provided mini bikes) bikes or scooters in the "city". The imagination stations were adorable. Most areas were covered well. They had several restrooms and water stations. Seating for birthdays and such. I didn't have time to take pictures. But it's true to the website. I highly recommend it!

One of the most disappointing elements was that there was no info given on the ride (saw speakers so the conductor could have talked). According to their website, the train takes you through the hideout of Sam Bass (outlaw that died in Round Rock) so that would have been cool to hear about. Overall, kids love trains so this is a good way to entertain them.

First of all, it appears the playground has been redone. There are photos here from a few years ago -- looks completely different now. In most cases, these are clear upgrades but I'm not so sure here. The old playground looks pretty nice -- with more equipment for younger toddlers. Why they chose to redo it is a mystery. The current playground equipment is decent with some nice climbing options. It's a little awkward for grown-ups to access (when accompanying really small toddlers who can fall off) since the steps can only be reached via tunnel. So if your young toddler climbs up, you either have to go through the tunnel or climb up some of the ladders. Not a huge deal although if you're an elderly caretaker, take note. The playground does have two small canopies that offer partial shade. One of the biggest deficiencies is the swings. Only two belt swings for older kids. No bucket swings for younger toddlers or babies. Oddly, the pics of the old playground show baby swings -- why did they get rid of them? Weird. There's quite a bit of space like I previously mentioned but I'm not sure if it's being utilized well. There's a small gazebo but it seems a bit pointless. There's nothing in it (no seating) so it looks like a bus stop. I wish they made it into more of a pavilion with benches (there's space). Ultimately, a decent park especially since Georgetown is a bit lacking in playgrounds (when compared to Round Rock especially).

We have gotten so used to overbearing lifeguards this summer who blow their whistles and yell nonstop and this was a nice change of pace. They were very patient with everyone, using normal speaking voices and only using whistles if someone was doing something dangerous. It made for a very relaxing and fun experience. The entry for kids is about standard ($3 each) and a bit higher than usual for adults ($6 each) but one of the benefits of this is that the place wasn't very crowded so we were able to have a good time without feeling cramped. We'll definitely be coming back again, kids and adults had a great time.

One time I jumped in the water at Lady Bird Lake, and I got morbidly ill for days and could not get out of bed. I would highly not recommend getting in the water there. That being said, Lake Georgetown is quite different and it would seem that the water is pretty clean there. It probably goes without saying it is much less crowded than Lake Austin/Travis or anything near downtown, and it has plenty of space for picnicking, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Usually I will go running around Lake Georgetown because it is much less crowded than Lake Austin, and there are shorter routes depending how far you want to run. I guess the one thing I will say is that the trails to "hike" or walk around the lake are not as established as some other hiking trails I've been on, so just be prepared for that and maybe don't wear short shorts if you're going to try any hikes around the lake.

My kids love going here...from age 3 to 12, they all find something entertaining! We can spend an hour here and they still get sad when it is time to leave. Inside the park is a huge parking lot making it great for housing Hutto residents for big events like Fourth of July, but there's also a large pond (or two large ponds) which are usually well stocked with fish, an amphitheater that is used for park events though sadly Brushy Creek Amphitheater is not currently booking events, and plenty of other space for roaming. The gazebo area is very nice and gives you beautiful access to Brushy Creek itself. There's not much pathways for running though, so I don't recommend this place for working out I do think this place will become less populated once Fritz Park is completed as that park is going to be fantastic, but until then, this is a great spot for Hutto. The field is beautiful and always well maintained - great place to take your dogs! The trail leads to a very tiny creek/marshland with tadpoles but you may only see this after a rainy day. Yellow wildflowers bloom all along the field and it's beautiful to visit in the spring. There is a nice outdoor pavilion for hosting picnics or parties. A grill is also available for barbecue. Parking is found along the street or on the small back lot near the renovated bathrooms.

If you wish to visit this park, it does have 10 parking spaces and it's a good jumping on point for the paved trail. Definitely a nice asset to the neighborhood and joggers alike. Plenty of photos to round out the review.
