Don't get your expectations up for the sights on the train ride - it's not much. A soccer field and then it's just dry brush / trees. One of the most disappointing elements was that there was no info given on the ride (saw speakers so the conductor could have talked). According to their website, the train takes you through the hideout of Sam Bass (outlaw that died in Round Rock) so that would have been cool to hear about. The only times I have been here are with Things Ones' troop to go camping. There are many sites for rent to go camping here. When camping, visitors may come into close contact with deer and other wildlife. So much space, beautiful scenery, and tons of options for kids to run wild . My son had the best time celebrating with his friends. Between the playground, splash pad, and shaded picnic areas, the kids were entertained the entire time. No one was bored, not even for a second. There's something really special about this place. The park is actually a little tricky to find without a map. You can see, and especially hear the I35 traffic that is almost a stones throw away. Its amenities include play scapes, a large covered picnic area, paved trails, public bathrooms, and lots of green space. It also has a large disc golf course. This property has a very nice pond, surrounded by a paved trail with benches and water fountains. At one end of the pond sits a large gazebo with I 35 behind it. There is also a paved trail that leads under I 35 and continues on to Chautauqua park and beyond. This park is a real asset to those who live nearby. If you want to visit this park, there is a parking lot with about 25 to 30 spaces. I included lots of photographs to entice you.
