A wonderful park that I really did not explore until I moved into the area. As others have noted the Veterans' Memorial is beautiful and represents all those who served their country. Be sure to view the Gold Star memorial especially the rear side that faces the benches, Spend some time viewing the memorial bricks as there are a few names that you will recognize. There is a play area for the kiddos once they get bored at the memorial as well as a pool and tennis courts for the neighborhood. If you feel like a short walk a nicely maintained trail or loop will give you some additional steps. Adjacent to the park is a very large dog park with sections for large and small mutts. If you have a water lover there is a small pond. The entire park complex is very well maintained and the only nit I have is not with the park but with the ignorant MoFos who believe it is OK for their dog to defecate on the trail and not pick it up. CP even provides stations with doggy doo doo bags but apparently, it is too much of a bother for some folks. If you are in the area the memorial is a good take. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed exploring Veterans Memorial Park that I stumbled across during one of my runs. It is a very well designed park that has a nice dedication area to service members. There is a very large dog park with separate areas for different dogs as well as a seasonal pool that is open during the summer months. The park is always very clean and people are respectful. I hardly see anything out of the ordinary every time I have been, and it is good to see parks like this in the community. Having previously lived in a state where it is commonplace for tent cities to occupy a "park" it is refreshing to visit a place that is taken care of nicely and people can enjoy the outdoors in a pleasant setting. I will certainly be back to the park often to get some cardio in or to visit the memorial. I wish the pool would be open later in the year because of how hot Texas is even during the fall, but perhaps they do not have enough lifeguard staff by then. read more

Where did Spring go and why did Summer take its place so quickly?!? This pool at the park became necessary all of a sudden. It's clean and fairly cheap to get in: $4 for kids and $5 for adults. It just gets insanely busy, but understandably so. There's lots of shaded picnic tables if you come early enough to snag one. It's a pretty nice park that pays thanks to those that have served our country. As far as parks are concerned there are a decent amount of things to do here. They have a nice pool, a playground area which is mostly those rope net types. It has a basketball court that look ok - nets could be replaced. It also has some easy crushed granite trails that connect to park that are connected to near by subdivisions. Not much in the way of trails at the actual park They are doing some renovations to the park, but no sure what they are all. One look like a retention pond with a fishing pier. read more

Pros: diving board and a short enclosed slide that people can use with a 12 foot water depth. A water bucket that fills up and dumps out lots of water - kids love getting soaked! Wading area and small slides for the tiny tots and preschool aged kids. There's a basketball hoop and an obstacle course. There's quite a bit of shade. You can bring your own drinks and food inside. Lifeguards are diligent in making sure kids aren't running or acting inappropriately. It's small enough for parents to keep an eye on their child. Cons: besides the 12 ft area which is reserved for jumpers and divers who must immediately exit that area, and the wading area of 1 ft for the tots, the rest of the pool only goes to 3 ft 6 inches. My well over 5 ft tall and we've yet to find a pool with a 5 ft + free swim area around here. They would make a lot of money for the city, county or Veterans charity if they sold non-alcoholic beverages and food. I forgot drinks and food were allowed and a concession stand would have been a welcome site! read more

This is such a nice area with in Cedar Parks city limits. The Dog park is ok if people would take care of their dogs and scoop the poop. We did quit using it with our dogs for that reason. The Veterans Memorial is beautifully designed! Flags representing every branch of the Military as well as the United States Flag are flown. The statuary is very nicely done as well. It's a very dignified property. There are celebrations of many of our National Holidays and tributes paid to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, those that have served and those that are still serving to allow us our freedom. There are also several sports courts-I have observed the tennis and basketball areas. Hard to believe in the high humidity we've had recently that the courts are rarely empty! Last but not least the Swimming Pool ‍ with a nice large area surrounding it, a high dive or jumping platform, large water slide, basketball hoops for water ball, a huge dump bucket that fills and then spills much to the delight of the children et al that are standing close enough to be drenched. There's a small but challenging water ropes course that the kids attempt to get across using their upper body strength and a lot of coordination to delicately find the pads that sit in the water for feet to find. The majority don't make it across and end up splashing and swimming, only to get out and try it again!I As mentioned, the area surrounding the pool is very pleasant with several pavilions providing shade for multiple picnic tables. I was kind of surprised to see some patrons with their instant pots having an early supper picnic-pretty cool!!! I took my grandson last week. We don't go enough to take advantage of the season pass so I paid the $2 senior and $2 child fee for entrance. Very reasonable. There are several Red Cross Certified Life Guards providing constant vigilance. The pool hours are noon to 7PM. We always have a good time when we go! read more

Best dog park I've ever been to, anywhere!! Often small dogs are shorted on space and amenities when it comes to big dog parks, but not here!! My little guys love this park! Not only is the small dog park spacious, there are water fountains/dog water stations and benches throughout the generous treed space. You will also find poop bags and cans as well as a pooper scooper if needed. Big dogs really score here with their own generous space and for the retrievers and water lovers there is a man made lake!!! Did River get dirty plying hard? Give him a bath on the way out - put him up on the wash bench and give him a good shampoo. Seriously- this place is great. We met a couple that drives regularly from South Austin to bring their dogs here!! Check it out! Or don't - it's really one of our best kept secrets! read more

Great place to come for some extra excitement. The kids love the high dive and drop slide. Get there early or late to get a shady spot otherwise it's wide open and a guaranteed sunburn. It's a nice way to end the day after work and let the kids burn off some energy. The lifeguards are wonderful and interact with the kids. They make it even more fun!! read more

i live in central austin, and i hate to drive. but this pool makes it worth the drive to cedar park. my 4 yr old son and i met some friends (who live in cedar park) at this pool last week. the kids had a blast, and it's easy to see why. there are about 6 different distinct play areas, all for varying ages / level of swimming abilities. there are 3 different water slides, the smallest of which is littel tykes level and the largest of which drops you out 4 feet above the water into a 12 ft deep pool. the shallow area (1 to 3 ft.) is large enough to accommodate a good crowd, and the deeper areas are close by, but clearly sectioned off. there is a fair amount of shade (out of the pool) but not too much. i don't remember exactly what the entrance fee is, but i think it's around $2. if you're anywhere in north austin with little ones, this is worth checking out. read more

This pool opened at noon when I came here. But I'd agree that even noon is a little weird... 10 or 11 would be better. It get's pretty busy around 2 or 3, and we came on a week day. It's incredibly safe, and there are lifeguards EVERYWHERE! This is a perfect spot for very small children. They provide nice life vests for you. I do not like the massive water bucket that drops 800 gallons of water on you, but I'm sure the kids love it. Just be warned if you need to walk your kid up to the slide, you'll get dumped on a lot. And slide down on your bootie not your tummie. Why IS that anyway? They reinforce it pretty hardcore. There are a ton of lawn chairs if you want to relax. I'd say the $5 admission for adults and $2 for kids is worth it to keep a bunch of kids entertained under supervision from several lifeguards. There is plenty here to keep kids happy for hours. My only issue is it's in cedar park... but then again I only babysit, so if I was a parent that probably wouldn't be a huge issue for me. The long drive is kind of relaxing on the way home anyway. read more

Great pool to cool off in the summer. Only negative thing I have to say is the lifeguards blow their whistles too much, no one even pays attention to the sound of it because it's constant. Also, several will blow their whistle and not even tell the person/s why, and some will and it does no good. Partly the parents fault for not watching their own kids. Lots of good shade places to sit though, and the bathrooms are usually pretty clean. They also have a platform to dive off of that the kids really enjoy! read more

This is a great public pool that is well maintained. The pros: --Plenty of parking and spaces for disabled. --Reasonable prices! Adults are only $5 for the day, seniors $2, kids under 3 free, students with ID $4. --Clean bathrooms and outdoor showers available for when you are getting in the water and out. --This place caters to groups! Plenty of lawn chairs. Picnic tables available, most in the shade. Families are also welcome to bring in their own cooler and picnic supplies! --Lifeguards are friendly, kind and vigilant! They do a great job of rotating between areas regularly and of letting children know when their behavior could hurt them or someone else. For example, no running, no horseplay on another's shoulders, and no diving in shallow areas. They also give the children swim tests to determine which areas they are able to enter. Those lifeguards are awesome! --Perfect for the young ones! There is an obstacle course, three small slides, a large mushroom, multiple fountains and sprays, even a large bucket that overturns, dumping gallons of water every so often. The kids love it! For the bigger kids, there is also a deep area for diving and a tube-like water slide. The cons: --Hours could be longer. The pool doesn't open until noon and it would be nice to take advantage of this pool a little earlier, around 10 AM. The pool closes at 7 PM Monday-Saturday and at 6 PM on Sunday. --The biggest con, in my opinion, is that this place is geared more toward children and there is no deeper area for adults to swim. Don't come here expecting to do laps! The deepest area for swimming is only 3 feet, 6 inches. There is really no place where you are safe from kids splashing you directly in the face. So if hanging out with a bunch of screaming kids who are having a great time and splashing all around is not your thing, this pool is not for you. I am happy to have this community pool available for cooling off in summer! There's also a nearby playground and dog park (where dogs can play in a lagoon and are separated by size), so there's a lot to enjoy in Veteran's Memorial Park. read more

Hey fellow yelpers just an update!!! So if you've read my prevoiuos review I really love this mini water park. But lately I'm totally not feeling it here. It has been way over crowded. I can hardly move in the water with out getting kicked by some other kid Grrrr!!! Other pools may have less fun pool activities but what's the point coming here when you can't enjoy them.... I need more arm and leg room to enjoy myself and to keep up with my kiddo in the pool! Plus the parking is Annoying Me. They need more parking I get frustrated doing circles looking for a spot! For now I highly recommend find another pool for the time being. It's not worth coming here right now or possibly get here when the doors open maybe then you'll have better luck and get some swim fun in before the big afternoon crowds. read more

Veterans Memorial Park - Swimming Pools Near Me - Cedar Park, Texas

We went for the first time this swim season, and I was very happy to see several safety factors in place that I do not often see at public (or neighborhood) pools. Most of the lifeguards stand where they are most needed rather than stay perched on the edge of a pool in a chair. Veterans Memorial Pool is divided into several entertainment zones. The large, shallow beach pool (under 2 ft depth) has a large play structure, complete with giant water bucket, water sprays manipulated with wheels, netted climbing, and tunnel slide. There was a lifeguard standing up in the play structure, and she did a fantastic job in keeping the (mostly) preteen boys from overtaking the slide and scaring off the little kids who wanted to try. I do have to say that the water bucket dumps an enormous amount of water down so little kids who are easily frightened by noise and lots of water splashing might do well to steer clear of the play structure when the bucket is tipping. In this same area was a slide structure made of 3 chutes, and there was a lifeguard positioned at the bottom of the slide. At the base of the slide was soft padding so kids would not skid against the rough bottom of the pool when they come down the slide. When the slide was congested with elementary aged kids who got a little excited and did not wait their turn before the person in front is done, I saw that a second life guard positioned himself (or herself) at the top to direct the children. This slide was well designed. My petite 4 year old was able to get up and down this slide, wade through the beach water, and climb out by herself. Next to this slide was a gigantic bin filled with children's life vests, all in immaculate condition. I was able to put a life vest on my 1 year old to try the slide, and if I had to take my eye off of him for a split second to attend to my preschooler, I felt better knowing that he had the life vest on. Surrounding this entire beach area were small water sprays and jets coming out of spouts in the ground, and these were small enough to entertain toddlers without scaring them. Just seeing how accessible everything is for my young children, I just think that Veteran's Memorial Pool is well designed for toddlers and preschoolers. Further away from the shallow beach area was a water-crossing activity. There were large floating barrels with netting above for older kids to grab onto as they crossed the water. Next to the water crossing zone was an area where we saw several teenagers playing water basketball. Positioned over here was another life guard. For older or experienced swimmers, there was another area for lap swimming. Immediately next to the lap pool is a deeper area to accomodate a drop slide (tube chute that literally drops swimmers out with gushing water into the pool below) and a dive (or cannonball as we witnessed more often) platform. At the top of the drop slide and diving platform was another lifeguard positioned there. Surrounding the pool were several pavilions, many marked with "reserved today" signs. There are two vending machines on site, and two water fountains with not-so-cool water. The restrooms were clean, and there was a baby changing table. This pool is well worth the trek for those with younger kids in South Austin, if you're looking more for a water park experience (without the water park price) than a traditional lap pool. read more

OMG can you say kiddie heaven?!? Our 2 year old had as much fun as she would've at an amusement park for a fraction of the price! (Then again, she pulled a string off the fabric of her stroller the other day and it kept her entertained for a good 30 minutes.) Great place for kids of all ages! There are both shallow and deep pools, the big bucket of water, a big spiral-y slide, little slides, basketball hoops, a high dive, and one of those walk-across-the-water-on-slippery-plastic-squares-and-try-not-to-fall-in deals. They have life vests available in various sizes and attentive lifeguards all over the place. Plenty of lounge chairs and shady areas, too. Oh, and on the drive in we passed a big playground area which looked super fun too, but didn't have time for both. I could see spending an entire day at this place and never getting bored. read more

My wife and i took our daughter and dog to the Bark Park the other day and saw Veterans Memorial Pool. Immediately we wanted to go there, so we went the next day and our daughter absolutely loved it! Great place to take the family with a lunch for the day, plenty of features to keep us entertained. They do charge an fee to access the pools, but it is well worth it! We will definitely be here a couple times this summer. read more

This is by far the nicest municipal kids pool I have ever visited. Mind you, this is targeted toward kids (don't go here if you are hoping to swim laps). My kids loved it. I've honestly never seen such extensive array of fun things to do at a pool outside of an amusement park. The only thing I didn't like was that there are not a ton of places to sit so if you go when it is crowded, bring a lawn chair. read more

Fun times were had at this place! The slides were tame for the little ones and there's a drop slide and platform for the braver, older kids that ends up in the 12.5 feet deep pool. Fun little kiddie park pool! My daughter had a good time here. I will agree with the attentiveness of most of the lifeguards is admirable in comparison to other pools. My only complaint is: One lifeguard wasn't paying attention to the slide of the tower and my daughter went down the slide not knowing a kid was at the bottom. He told my 6 year old daughter she couldn't slide anymore, which upset her. After that we sort of avoided wherever he went. If you have a park aimed towards little kids; you must learn to deal with them in a fair way. Banning them only makes them feel they've done something horribly wrong when in fact it was just an accident. Kids tend to learn judgement, they aren't born with this ability and it's important that these young lifeguards understand that. Other than this minor incident, the place is well managed and the pool is clean. I will come back and bring my kids here because they love it! read more

A few adults, a few toddlers and we all had a blast. The place was busy with a number of birthday parties, but it didn't feel crowded because people were well spread out over the different sections of the pool. The lines were not longer than 5 kids to get on the small slides. Thanks to the huge bucket dumping water frequently, we really cooled off and started to feel a little cold on a 100degree day. I'll gladly pay the low entrance fee than go to a water park with little kids. read more

It was a nice pool, although crowded of course on a June afternoon. Our experience was good, my daughter liked playing on the slides until my husband had an unfriendly experience with one of the lifeguards just trying to do their job. What really brings 3 stars is the fact that he and my daughter were swimming by the waterfall and were told they could not swim there because a class was taking place. The staff wasn't friendly in doing so either. We didn't appreciated that we paid $10 and drove 30 min to go to a pool and be told we could not swim because a swim class was taking place. Growing up we both took classes at pools that cost a small fee but the classes were before the pool opened to the public. Would that not be more helpful to the instructor, less chaos, more space? read more

Fun for all ages took my 3 and 6 yr old. Very safe for bigger kids to wander away from parents. I didn't have to watch them like a hawk. Not a pool for swimming laps so don't go expecting that. Pretty clean area and the lifeguards take their job seriously and will call your kid out if they are acting up.. Which is good that they're not sitting around talking to each other. Decent bathrooms with a family bathroom, outside showers to rinse off. Several canopies with picnic tables. Parking is limited though. read more

They have a lot of good shade coverage and the price is very good! The staff is very good with handling the "bad eggs". We live in Liberty Hill and I am always looking for awesome pools. I have been driving yo Rock n River in Round Rock. Here a Veteran's the restrooms were clean, the lifeguards were attentive. However it would give me more piece of mind if you could rope the children's area off from where it gets deeper. That's my only complaint. They do a swim test for the kids who want to go down the slide for the deep area. We will most definitely be back. Oh and unfortunately the open at noon why not at ten seems crazy to me but oh well. read more

We just moved to Liberty Hill from Kyle where one of the neighborhoods had a sweet little pool with a nice water play scape, etc for the kids. My boy (4) loved and missed it! - I found Veteran's Memorial Pool on Yelp and the pictures looked pretty sweet; they didn't do it justice. This pool is AWESOME! It's more than just a pool; it's like a mini-water park. My 20-month old even had a blast with all the ground sprinklers and shooting water streams, along with the beach (no sand) and 0-1' deep section. There is plenty for the 4yr old with slides and playscape, etc - The bigger kids love the deep pool which is dedicated to a diving platform and large tube-style slide! It was packed, but even mama with the newborn in a sling had a great time! - Don't even think twice... I really like this pool. As a parent I appreciate that there are always a ton of lifeguards. I always watch my little ones in the water. But with two 4 year olds and a 9 year old it can be difficult. It's nice to know I can watch the two little ones while the older child(who can swim) does his thing while there are tons of lifeguards around. My kids appreciate how fun this place is. There are little water slides for the young ones. There is a water slide for the older one. A mini waterfall for everyone. A water dump bucket. Just tons of fun for the whole family. Yes, it can get crowded. Honestly though it seems I can say that about all the fun family activities in this area. So if you are looking for a fun family pool this is a great choice. read more

I have a 3 and 5 year old who enjoy this pool/splash pad more than other's we've been to. We pay $7 to get in ($5 for myself, $2 for my older daughter and the 3 year old is free). They have drink/ice cream vending machines and you can also bring in food/picnic lunch/drinks. They do check coolers though (saw some parents having to dump their beer!! seriously). Bring snacks, drinks and lots of sunscreen! Your kids won't want to leave. read more
