Announcement.....for those who have lost count...this is review sev-in-hun-it!…read more Don't judge me, but I am finishing the draft of this review from 2019 (like I said, don't judge me). If you are looking for a place to take the little ones for some outdoor water fun, this may be your place! This location is a short drive just past ATX to Leander. This Splash Pad was built in 2011 in a former quarry and is surrounded by natural rock, which provides a really unique, pretty atmosphere. There are fountains and sprinklers of all shapes and sizes as well as water cannons, a waterfall, a little slide, a mini climbing wall, a sandbox, and plenty of picnic tables, too. This location offers many foundations that kids can have a blast in. There is ample parking, and the admission is only $2.00! Note* As this location was a quarry, water shoes should be worn by both the littles' and their 'bigs'.

Inexpensive ($2 a person) but it seems like 1/3 of it isn't working so $2 seems fair. Lots of…read moretables and shade and a reasonably clean restroom facility. It seems like it has way too many employees - 4 behind the counter, 1 taking money and the other 3 eating or on their phones. We stayed 90 minutes which I believe is the maximum amount of fun you can have here.

Let me preface by saying I never write bad reviews. But for safety reasons I had to write this one,…read moreand if you don't have time to read it all let me just start by saying please just go literally anywhere else for your child's safety. So first of all, there are 4 larger water slides. And probably 3 or so smaller ones. They have a total of 2 lifeguards on watch. One lifeguard sits at a chair "watching over" the smaller, right side of the park. And the other one switching between the top of the larger water slides every so often depending on which is busier. There are multiple lifeguards but only 2 out on the park floor at a time, all very young teenagers. Not a single adult working there. I think that is a huge problem in itself but let me go on. I watched my 4 yr old like a hawk the whole time we were there because the lifeguards obviously weren't paying attention, lots of older kids running around, etc. I watch my son go down the larger slide. I'm waiting at the bottom for him for 5 minutes. Still hasn't came out. I go to the top to look down the slide where there should've been a lifeguard but no one to be found. I go to the lifeguard sitting in the chair at the front and tell him that my 4 yr old went down and has not came out yet and I think he's stuck in the slide. He ARGUES WITH ME and says "no I've been watching and there's no one in the slide" UMMMM WHAT?!! Obviously realizing they could care less about my child or any children there, and I don't have time to argue because I'm worried about my 4 yr old, I rush back to the top of the slide and go down it and what do u know, my son was stuck in the middle of the pitch black loop of the slide, terrified and crying. This is totally unacceptable, I don't even have words. Hopefully that's enough to let you know this is not the place to go but if not, let me move on to my next complaint. There was a group of older kids constantly trying to climb up the larger water slides in the back that no one can see unless you walk back there. Which in the 3 hours I was there not one lifeguard walked back there or even glanced to check on anything. The first time I notified the lifeguard about the kids going up the slide, she went back there and told them that's not allowed. Then they kept doing it and multiple other parents complained as well. The second time I complained that they were still doing it and almost seriously injured my 4 yr old, the lifeguard said "oh I know I already told them to stop". Ummmm okay??? So you're just going to keep letting them do it putting all the other kids at danger?? At MINIMUM their parent should've been notified but in my opinion they should've been asked to leave after the 3rd complaint/telling them to stop. Honestly I could go on and on but I don't have all day. I truly just hope they increase the amount of lifeguards and hire experienced lifeguards that actually care about children's safety and at minimum have one adult employee on-site.

This place has its potential to be good. However, my first experience was not great. My eyes were…read morebothering me due to the chlorine in the air. But the worst part was my son got hurt on there smallest slides. He thought it was clear. No one told him otherwise, and he went down, collided with some kids that were messing around at the bottom and then proceeded to hit his head on the slide. He had a huge goose egg that resulted in a ER visit. The manager came over and was asking what happened. My biggest turn off was before she really asked how my son was, she asked if we had signed the waiver. I'm not saying this place isn't great for most people, but I personally won't be returning.

It includes a smaller one playscape (toddlers) and one for the somewhat bigger kids (4-12). It has mulch on the ground, and is bordered with a cement lining to contain the mulch, is my guess. It's so thoughtful to find 1 special swing amongst 3 other plain swings, one that you can safely secure and have the child experience swinging also. Not one for the very littles, but one with a disability. I believe it says for 5-12 years old. Close to the smaller playscape is a xylophone, and we were pleased with a play by a random biker who stopped there to play. On Settlers Valley, I see people park their car along the road by the mailboxes. And there is a little path that leads to the playground, but then it ends there. You'll have to go around the grass, or cross the mulch in order to enter the trail that is in the back and goes around the neighborhood. I've biked that trail and it's a cute well-maintained trail. It's not our neighborhood, but I'm glad to find this close to home.

It consists of two covered…read moreplayscapes, swings, uncovered picnic tables, one grill, a fountain that works and a trail that links to Wuthridge Park. This is probably the only park where I have seen four musical instruments integrated into the playscape. I was surprised to find they have a very rich sound. The only thing lacking besides a pool, is the fact that there are no public bathrooms at either park or along the trail. Definitely a great spot to bring the kids or take a hike or bike ride.

There's also a pretty cool slide and one of those "walk on floats across the water" things. My kids stayed for almost 2 hours and the only reason we left then is because they were starting to turn red from their sunscreen wearing off. The lifeguards were also great. We have gotten so used to overbearing lifeguards this summer who blow their whistles and yell nonstop and this was a nice change of pace. They were very patient with everyone, using normal speaking voices and only using whistles if someone was doing something dangerous. It made for a very relaxing and fun experience. The entry for kids is about standard ($3 each) and a bit higher than usual for adults ($6 each) but one of the benefits of this is that the place wasn't very crowded so we were able to have a good time without feeling cramped. We'll definitely be coming back again, kids and adults had a great time.

The process of reserving an umbrella was fairly easy online. When we got to the table they had our last name already in the spot I picked. You bring your own decorations for tables and food (they do have food trucks also). Place has so many people - given that Texas is suuuper hot during summers its not a surprise. They have Splashville: with a blue enclosed slide (goes fast since you cant see what tyrns come up next), and more "tame" slides colored yellow and orange. They have a place there over in Splashville where everyone splashes around. Lots of fun playscape type climbing apparatuses (apparati? Idk haha) for you to climb to where you wanna go. Over near middle of park is a little kid splash pad/very shallow pool that you can watch your littlies wade in. There's a short toy train slide they can go up and down on. Over near the left of entrance there's 2 tall water slides: one blue enclosed slide and a green one thats not. They're SUPER fun to go down. Over in the newest section of the park is a big action/lazy river where one can float to your heart's content. Plenty of tables around - your just have to come early to stake your spot so to speak. Overall place is very nice to play around in. There's no time limit and you can get a wristband to come in and out. Definitely coming back for more rock n rivery fun!!

We returned to the station and looked around, there's picnic tables, and a small playground as well as a small train ride with kiddie powered trains on a short track.
