    Splash pad, toddler.

This park is a hidden gem, from the play structure to the splash pad to the placement of the facilities. They thought of all the ways that would make it fun for a kid, and convenient for a parent. The play structure isn't your typical one, with a more obstacle-like feel, perfect for older kids. The swings were a hit for my toddler and my tweens, with them being so high off the ground. And the splash pad was so fun for all of them, with its variety of pour outs. We'll be back, with friends.

Well maintained modern dog park partitioned for large and small dogs. This was our first visit today. Two paws up!

    Great dog park.

Really enjoyed taking our girls here. Enough wide open space for them to stretch their legs and water fountains with built in dog bowls. The best thing about the fountains is there's one outside both the small and large dog areas and one that's nestled within the fence that divides the two areas. That way you don't have to unnecessarily take your dog in and out just to rehydrate. The folks in this area are friendly and courteous. I think the only downside is we noticed that a bunch of dog poop was along one side of the fence (opposite from the entry). Come on people, do your DD and clean up!

Brand new park right down the road! Have you seen the ultimate beast master tv show? Well this park has rope courses and areas that are just like the show... for kids. The park just opened a couple of weeks ago and they really put some time and effort into building it. Picnic areas, nice bathrooms, landscaping, dog park areas, and paths... nicely done! We had a good time... my oldest was trying to take the beast and my youngest couldn't get enough of the new swing. It is very clean and very well done.... all of the play areas are covered so they don't get overly hot. We really enjoyed it!

But it was pretty hot out, and once the sun went down the party really started- there was upwards of 10 dogs when we left! The property is located out in Leander and is pretty rustic- the park is all dirt with lots of seating scattered throughout for humans (a fun vibe with mismatched chairs and tables of all styles and heights) and cute playground furniture for the doggos to run and jump on. There is plenty of tree shade as well, and water bowls set out for the pups. You check in at the bar and then can order drinks directly from a window in the dog park so you don't have to leave the fenced in park, which is nice. This dog park is super casual- no food served here, or cocktails. Just a nice straightforward (and reasonably priced) beer and wine menu. But really, what else do you need? Just some dogs, music (they had music playing) and a cold beer that comes with a cute coozie. The staff was so nice and really good with the dogs- they were there managing all the interactions and ensuring that nothing got tense. I really appreciated that. They do have doggie ice cream that you can purchase and have your dog eat outside of the park (no food allowed inside, makes a ton of sense). This place may not have jumbo screens and margaritas like some other dog parks- but that's fine by me for the relaxed and friendly vibe, reasonable prices, and staff that ensures all the dogs are safe and having fun! We can't wait to come back again- especially for one of their cool events! (pet psychics!)

My dad and mum take me here when we are in town and this is my favorite place to run around. Even though I'm just a pup, the grownup doggies teach me new things like how to play chase, sniff and aimlessly run around. I haven't totally braved the water park just yet, but watching the retrievers jump in and fetch has started to build my interest. I did get in the pool up to my chest and got dirty enough to need a bath, but not fully committed to jump in yet. I think if I play it wisely, I'll milk it for all it's worth and probably will get a few more trips in before I take the plunge. Luckily, the park has multiple wash stations on the way in/out, so my humans can clean me up nicely before our ride home. Not my favorite thing to do, but since it's a doggie dog world, I have to live by their rules. Now that I'm 7 months old and weigh 30 pounds, I can play in the large dog area which is much more fun for me. When I was under 30 pounds, I used the small dog area which is overall a bit smaller in size, and the grass is a bit "ruff", so not as much fun. Also too many yapping pups there for my taste. So if you have the zoomies and are in the area, come by and say hi, or come play with me as I'm looking for new friends all the time. I'll be the black /white pup with the one blue eye, the Australian accent and hanging out next to the pool.

There is plenty of grass in the large dog area, and the trees give them shade when they need to rest from running hard. Small dog area is too small, and doesn't allow much room to run for smaller dogs. It's is also mostly dirt and prickly weeds. Yuck. They need to make a larger area for smaller dogs that isn't all shade, so some good grass can grow. I'll be going back because it is so close and convenient. But I still have high hopes for some improvements.

That said, my dog-loving friends and I were quite disappointed for the following reasons: 1. SANDBUR (GRASSBUR) whatever you call it. Three times I caught my baby girl limping because the burrs got stuck in/between her paws. :-( They are really painful and they are ALL OVER the big dog side hidden in the grass. I'm never taking her again for that reason. 2. Small dog side is TINY. Seriously, the people who built it must think small dogs don't run or that they only run in circles. I only have a big dog, but my friends who had small dogs were very frustrated. (That said, the small side is fenced properly with no escape room.) 3. It lacks seating area. 4. Water is outside. If you bring your own bowl, it's not a big deal. But it's a con. 5. It's kind of boring... No agility. And it seems like hardly any people go there - probably because of the burrs! Suggestion - Go to Stoney Creek Dog Park (AKA Harris-Ridge Dog Park) at the border of Pflugerville/Austin instead. It's way better for both big and small dogs!
