Peppah is a rocket
Angela M.

This is a great little dog park! They have an area for little dogs and big dogs and a doggie water fountain. They have two agility sections that of course my retarded dogs won't use. They have a ton of friendly people that are coming and going and all of the little dogs are well behaved...my little rocket Peppah loves it because we have a tiny yard, she can run around and wear herself out pretty good! They also have disc golf behind the dog park, so we played a game there and the dogs loved that even more. Maybe I am too easily pleased, but when my puppies are happy then so am I.

Updated: Dog park is renovated but we couldn't get in today. It was randomly closed due to weather conditions (it was 70 degrees, sunny the last three days) saying that it was closed to avoid damage to grounds and risk for visitors. We tried looking for information on whether it was open or closed online and couldn't find any.

I was up north with a pet I'm sitting and wanted to check out a dog park in the area, and Harris Ridge was the closest with great reviews. I think it is a very well maintained park, with nice grounds. Plenty of grass, hills, and trees for shade. They do have a couple obstacles set up, but not as many as I envisioned, and I expected a bit more seating for owners. There is a water fountain for humans and dogs right outside the entrance, but no bowls fixed in the park so make sure to bring your own if you want to keep your pup hydrated while he's running around. Another plus, for small dog owners the small dog area is huge! About the same size as the large dog area so your little pups have plenty of space to run around. Overall, this is a great park and I'll definitely be coming here in the future

Nice shaded areas.

Not as big as I'd like the area for smaller dogs but it does the job. Needs more obstacles items for dogs and benches.

Our dog LOVED this park! It had a ton of shade for sunny days and lots of room for them to move around to play

Great facility when they open it. Hours are capricious and prone to closure with no notice and even less reason.

We love this park! It can get a little crowded on the weekends. I can't give it 5 stars because it seems to be closed A LOT unfortunately.

This dog park sucks. Seems like it's always closed for some stupid reason or another.

He's a small dog and the small dog area was an adequate size and gave him plenty of room to run and roam.

There is plenty of grass in the large dog area, and the trees give them shade when they need to rest from running hard. Small dog area is too small, and doesn't allow much room to run for smaller dogs. It's is also mostly dirt and prickly weeds. Yuck. They need to make a larger area for smaller dogs that isn't all shade, so some good grass can grow. I'll be going back because it is so close and convenient. But I still have high hopes for some improvements.

The only reason this park gets 2 stars is that it's fenced and has separate areas for big and small…read moreareas. It's in a cute neighborhood, too. That said, my dog-loving friends and I were quite disappointed for the following reasons: 1. SANDBUR (GRASSBUR) whatever you call it. Three times I caught my baby girl limping because the burrs got stuck in/between her paws. :-( They are really painful and they are ALL OVER the big dog side hidden in the grass. I'm never taking her again for that reason. 2. Small dog side is TINY. Seriously, the people who built it must think small dogs don't run or that they only run in circles. I only have a big dog, but my friends who had small dogs were very frustrated. (That said, the small side is fenced properly with no escape room.) 3. It lacks seating area. 4. Water is outside. If you bring your own bowl, it's not a big deal. But it's a con. 5. It's kind of boring... No agility. And it seems like hardly any people go there - probably because of the burrs! Suggestion - Go to Stoney Creek Dog Park (AKA Harris-Ridge Dog Park) at the border of Pflugerville/Austin instead. It's way better for both big and small dogs!

The hubs and I were syced for a power walk. First we take in the Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park…read more We hear the birds chirping, tree branches whistling in the wind and the rippling of the creek in the background. Their appears to be softbal fields on one side of the park. This park is massive! We see other leisurely morning walkers, folks with their fur babies on leashes and even small groups of family members and friends enjoying the park. We did not realize until reading the signage, that Walnut Creek park is a nature park. Totally makes sense given the lush nature of the park. Cyclists ride down the trail with vigor and position. The park is alive! Really enjoyed our power walk.., This family friendly park has an array of playground equipment for children. The is also a large empty swimming pool in background...unsure if it's operational. Picnic tables are strategically sprinkled throughout the park.

Great option for hiking -- large park with lots of trails…read more According to my quick research, there's only one paved trail -- Northern Walnut Creek Trail. We had our kids in a wagon stroller so needed a stroller-friendly trail. It's a long trail (not a loop) so we just walked it to the creek and turned back. Trailhead is to the right of playground. Playground was pretty nice (with an area for smaller toddlers) but parents could have been more conscientious (some kids were throwing rocks down the slide).
