If the dog park is closed due to rain(or Covid) usually the rest of the park is open and we just hit the trails! There's a great Facebook group of dog parents for the park that will post if there have been any observed changes to hours/openings/dog birthdays etc.

The park itself is big and lovely with waste bags filled and trash can conveniently located at entrance - both at the ready to be used. As I walked my dog around the park for the first time, I was appalled to see Pet parents leaving piles and piles of dog poop all around the park. The city is spending money to create a safe environment for our pets, and those of you who use the parking do not pick up your dogs poop or to be reprimanded. As I took one lap around the park with my dog I literally picked up 40 piles...4-0! For those of us who are looking for large safe and clean place for our pets to play and socialize, why do we still in this day and age have to put up with pet parents who will not take responsibility for their pets? I did what I could for the next visitor this morning, but will think twice about coming back again. It's a shame - because I've been looking for such a lovely place for my pet for months now. I thought I had found it. If you don't mind your dog running and stepping into dog poop or you stepping into it every other step. I recommend a park. But for those who are fussy like me, consider self warned. And finally a warning to those who will visit during the summer when the grass is not quite so full. My pup got so many burrs in his feet that he could not walk home. A trip to the vet was required to pull those really tricky deep ones out. My advice to avoid incidents is if your dog doesn't know the dog that it's being introduced to keep your dog on the leash until a proper introduction has happened. Even though your dog may be good you never know the habits of others. Talk to people and get to know them and you'll know what kind of dog parent they are by the way they speak about their dog. And please don't take your dog if they are reactive to people.

This appears to be a public park, but it looks like a parking pass is required. This park even has a small splash pad for your pooch to play in and plenty of picnic tables, some of which are covered. This doggy paradise is pretty much hidden from the main road but when you find it, you and your dog will enjoy this space.

The main stage is nice and there is a pavilion for you to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere while reading a book or just taking a moment to chill. I always enjoy coming here to cycle or walk but really appreciate the playground upgrade for the children.

It's nicely tucked away from all the noise of I 35 and just barely removed from the town center. This park has many amenities starting with the swimming pool (which already has several reviews). You will also find a kids playscape, two sandy volleyball courts, a large basketball court area, public bathrooms, and two separate dog parks. The dog park for the larger dogs is very spacious with lots of covered seating and room to run. Another nice attribute is the wide paved sidewalk that runs along Lake Creek for quite some distance which is perfect for biking or hiking. The park itself is about 8 to 10 acres in size. There's lots of covered and uncovered picnic tables on the property and plenty of green space. You can park at the pool or drive past it where you'll see much more parking in back. Definitely a very nice public park to visit for a picnic or to bring the dog. Plenty of pictures included for more insight.
