Old Settlers has been our go to park to walk or attend an event going on here. There are some wonderful places here to take photos at. There are athletic fields here as well. Don't make a rookie mistake like I did. I booked family photos here not knowing that they were hosting cross country there. Whoops! My most recent visit here was to Yonders Point inside the park to see the 9/11 Memorial. Thank you for bringing this memorial here and offering a clean park.

I love this park. My family and I frequently visit this park to go on walks. They have different walking tracks to choose from and they are pretty immaculate. The town has invested a lot into this park over the past few years. It is definitely more busy than it used to be and parking is slowly becoming an issue. I suggest checking out the different free events the town hosts at Old Settlers. They are always really top notch events.

Such a great event for family fun!! FYI-- free entry.

Yesterday I visited Yonders Point at this location for the first time with my family and wow!! This place it huge, well kept and beautiful: soft grass, wooden platforms for seating in an amphitheater-style seating area (perfect if you forget to bring lawn chairs or blankets), poles for hammocks, etc. We came for the Go Wild Friday Fun Nights event where they offered an organized schedule of events and activities for families. Some of the events and activities included: a birds of prey and reptile show, petting zoo, a movie and more! They also offered free snacks, drinks and beer. The family and I had so much fun and I'm so glad that we decided to come! We will definitely be back for this event and more in the future.

So we finally made our way out to this park and I'm glad we did. It's a nice park that has several different areas, a water park and some soccer fields. There's a few different parking lots throughout the area as you drive down the road. There's a pond that has different types of birds and some shade trees. The playground is epic and nicer than anything we had as kids. This is a great park to walk especially early in the morning before the heat of the day.

As always a great experience! The park is well maintained and has everything you can ask for.

This park area is a great place for summer fun for family and youth. It is very clean with a variety of activities for children to be active!

Such a well maintained park in every respect. They have camping, fishing, located right next to the Dell Diamond and some great barbecue at the Salt Lick and they have all these wonderful baseball complexes as an aside. They support so many sports teams here! Baseball, Football, Soccer. Fields in amazing condition. Many with lights for night games. Restrooms clean and stocked. Unbelievable for all the activities that go on here-mass volumes on the weekend !!! Concession-open long hours. Coffee-soda-water-sports drinks-hot dogs-of coarse, other snacks-reasonable prices-and profits return to teams. Overall this is really a fantastic park.

I've really enjoyed Old Settlers Park during COVID-19. Great place for a run, picnic, etc. Personally, I love the 3.5 mile jogging route. Two laps and that's a nice workout.

Bluebonnets bloom is upon us. Focus on the good!

There are chimes to sound and drums to play, The children really enjoyed this area. They had a zip line made for children. They have a shopping area for them to pretend -- along with their own personal H-E-B! My granddaughter really enjoyed pretending to shop. I think that's a secret word here, there's a lot of pretending going on here! I highly recommend this park. It's important to know that animals are not allowed unless it's a service animal. There's a lot of kids running and yelling and playing and laughing. This is not the place for you if you're going to a park to read a book. The grounds are well-maintained and landscaped. There are paved trails that run along Brushy Creek where folks fish, feed the ducks, and relax along the water if not hiking or walking. It's dog-friendly with poo stations throughout. Dogs must be leashed. Water fountains throughout. The baseball field is state-of-the art. There's a modern playground for kids. Picnic areas with tables and grills. Veterans memorial onsite. Ducks and squirrels all around. In fact, a squirrel climbed the netted parameter around the ball field to watch us. I posted a lot of pics-that's a cute one to check out. The 14-acre park is surrounded by trees. In the middle of Bushy Creek is a large round rock for which the town was named. Next to the ball park is a spiral ramp connecting the upper and lower sections of the Heritage Trail West (which runs through the park). You can walk up it or bike for amazing views once at the top. This is a lovely park for getting out and enjoying nature.

Let's start with the cons: it's seriously off the beaten path- there's nothing out there. Bring everything you need- water, food, sunscreen etc. Secondly, there is literally no beach- just rocks, lots of rocks. Lastly, it is not dog, kid, or "out of shape" friendly. You have to climb around and over all those rocks to get to the water. (Oh, and there is a fee per person, if there's someone on duty). Now the pros- it is seriously off the beaten path, which means there's parking and very few people. Secondly, the water is clear and beautiful as are the views. It is near a marina, so boaters give nice waves every so often. Lastly, I loved sitting in my float just listening to the water hit the rocky shore. Very peaceful. I enjoyed it, but it's not for everyone. Let me know if you go- enjoy!

It's great in theory but I found it a bit lacking. There's a rudimentary playground that's labeled as 2-5. And a crunk playground (3-tiered, with gnarly slides) labeled as 5-12. Don't get me wrong -- this big playground is awesome for older kids. But it's a bit too advanced/scary for a 3-year-old. Meanwhile, the little playground was too simple/easy for her.
