Learned that the sprinklers were off around 7:45 pm and not 10 like website indicated . Maybe it is only for the Summer? Anyway, I'm impressed! Looks new! Accessible! Large climbing structure to left and splash pad to the right. 3 shaded gazebo's, with double tables and grills (covered so not in use). The shower and water fountains work. My advice to avoid incidents is if your dog doesn't know the dog that it's being introduced to keep your dog on the leash until a proper introduction has happened. Even though your dog may be good you never know the habits of others. Talk to people and get to know them and you'll know what kind of dog parent they are by the way they speak about their dog. And please don't take your dog if they are reactive to people.

This appears to be a public park, but it looks like a parking pass is required. This park even has a small splash pad for your pooch to play in and plenty of picnic tables, some of which are covered. But it was pretty hot out, and once the sun went down the party really started- there was upwards of 10 dogs when we left! The property is located out in Leander and is pretty rustic- the park is all dirt with lots of seating scattered throughout for humans (a fun vibe with mismatched chairs and tables of all styles and heights) and cute playground furniture for the doggos to run and jump on. There is plenty of tree shade as well, and water bowls set out for the pups. You check in at the bar and then can order drinks directly from a window in the dog park so you don't have to leave the fenced in park, which is nice. This dog park is super casual- no food served here, or cocktails. Just a nice straightforward (and reasonably priced) beer and wine menu. But really, what else do you need? Just some dogs, music (they had music playing) and a cold beer that comes with a cute coozie. The staff was so nice and really good with the dogs- they were there managing all the interactions and ensuring that nothing got tense. I really appreciated that. They do have doggie ice cream that you can purchase and have your dog eat outside of the park (no food allowed inside, makes a ton of sense). This place may not have jumbo screens and margaritas like some other dog parks- but that's fine by me for the relaxed and friendly vibe, reasonable prices, and staff that ensures all the dogs are safe and having fun! Unsafe at the moment…read more There have been reports recently that I have heard of men hiding in the bathrooms, including the women's bathrooms. One recent report was that 3 men came out of the bathroom and was headed toward someone's daughter. Another mom called the police recently because men were recording the children at the splash pad, but they didn't have any kids of their own. The bathroom by the playground and splash pad has two directions you can exit.. to the left towards the splash pad or toward the right towards the side wooded area. Please don't let your children go in there alone and always check the bathroom first. Lakewood park, please hire security and heavily monitor the children's area.

There are lots of places to sit as well, if you just want to be outdoors. There are several tables to eat at too, so bring a picnic basket. The trail is dirt therefore less stress on your knees. You can also bring dogs but they must be leashed. There is a small dock and a gazebo that juts out into the water so you can fish off these if you want. So for a relaxing walk with fresh air stop by Mills Pond.
