Overall, it was a nice experience, with good variety in the sushi options and the added benefit of happy hour pricing. The Vegas Roll had an appealing golden, crispy exterior and a generously filled center. The crunchy coating paired with the creamy seafood filling made for a satisfying option, especially if you enjoy sushi rolls with a little extra texture. The Sun-Kissed Roll was a colorful alternative, featuring salmon and avocado that gave it an attractive presentation. It offered a nice contrast to the fried Vegas Roll, making the two a good combination to order together. One of the highlights was visiting during happy hour, which made it easier to enjoy multiple sushi options at a more approachable price point. It's a good way to sample different rolls without paying full dinner prices. The restaurant had a lively bar atmosphere that worked well for a casual sushi outing. The only real downside to our experience was the flies, which were a bit of a nuisance and took away from what was otherwise an enjoyable meal. Aside from that issue, we had a good overall experience.

Came in with my partner for late night happy hour on a weekday. Upon walking in, the hostess did…read morenot greet us and waited for another staff member to seat us. We sat at the booth closest to the front door - the interior is cute, but looks cheap. The wooden tables are not high end and we were disappointed with this restaurant before we even ordered anything. We ordered miso soup to start - so salty, mushy tofu, did not finish. We ordered two rolls. Both seemed to be a decent serving size, but the pieces were rice heavy. The fish itself seemed.... fishy. Definitely did not taste like real salmon or tuna; we're from a city with fresh seafood, and I'm not surprised that this fish did not taste right. I doubt they get fresh fish flown in and likely use previously frozen items, where you can taste the difference. The wasabi obviously came out of a tube instead of fresh wasabi, another red flag. The only saving grace was their cocktail menu. Come here for drinks and skip the meal, save yourself the disappointment. Based on other reviews, some of their other menu items might make up for the poor sushi, but we will not be returning.

The first thing that stood out was the beautiful interior design. The space feels modern, stylish, and inviting, making it perfect for a date night or even a solo dining experience. The aesthetic bar area creates a great atmosphere, and while we chose to sit inside, they also have a lovely covered patio for those who prefer outdoor seating. The food and customer service were both excellent. Portions were generous, flavors were on point, and every dish we ordered was enjoyable. We started with the Heart Attack, garlic edamame, and shrimp tempura appetizers. The garlic edamame was especially memorable--I loved the addition of sesame oil, which added so much flavor and made it stand out from the typical version. To drink, we ordered green tea and a Sapporo on draft. The Sapporo was light, crisp, and airy--definitely something I would order again. For our main dishes, we enjoyed the Sensei Roll, the Screaming "O" Roll, and a nigiri plate from the happy hour menu. Everything was delicious, but the Screaming "O" Roll was the clear highlight of the meal and a must-order in my opinion. Between the beautiful ambiance, attentive service, generous portions, and flavorful food, Haru Sushi delivered a fantastic dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

So happy to have found a legitimate place for real & fresh sushi in the West Valley!!…read more Previously I would be subject to driving out to Sushi Sen in Scottsdale for sushi/Japanese food. Haru is a nice alternative that is much closer and offers an omakase plate that rivals some of the best sushi you can find in Torrance/LA. The pricing of this omakase is steep at $70 for 8pcs of premium fish plus a toro roll but worthwhile for a special occasion or to get your fix. Pricing on their happy hour seems pretty reasonable as well which is most weekdays until 6pm. Pricing on the rest of the menu is fair but doesnt quite exceed expectations in terms of value for money, especially compared to Sushi Sen. My mom, who is an incredibly tough critic, really enjoyed the soft shell crab tempura and said it wasn't oily or greasy. I have to agree. I enjoyed their "tuna cracker" which is like spicy tuna crispy rice at most other restaurants. I've already been back a second time within the same week and will probably be back again within the month. Highly recommend!

The regular menu is pricey depending on what you get. The AYCE menu has a premium ($35.99) and deluxe ($47.99) section. We chose the deluxe menu. The food for AYCE was good. The fish tasted fresh and rich. I loved the salmon, Wagyu, and toro nigiri's. The salmon carpaccio was also delicious. My boyfriend liked the short ribs because of the sauce. He also liked the Takoyaki and my mom had that for the first time which she thought was really good. All the other foods were delicious even the sushi rolls. But unfortunately there were a few cons. First we had to wait 20 mins for a table because they were busy. There is no place inside to sit to wait so we had to stand outside but it was windy that night so it was cold. The host took us to our table but we didn't have anyone to greet us or explain what to do for our first times here. When we called for our waitress she explained the menu that we order from the tablet. Some items you had to order from her and not from the tablet. Some special items you had a cap on order like the Wagyu nigiris. It took a while for our waitress to come to our table because we were sat on the far left of the restaurant and she was busy waiting on tables on the right side. So we constantly had to search for her if we needed something. But this is where my mind was changed. The waitress was very sweet. She apologized for her lack of attention because of how busy it was and recognized it. We saw the sign in the front that they were doing a 10 year anniversary special where if you roll two dice's and get a number 10 the whole meal was free. If you do the math that's a low chance of 8.33%. We told the waitress that we wanted my mom to roll the dices for her bday. We finished our desserts and gave it to her. We were able to record for fun. To our surprise, my mom won! She rolled two 5's which was unbelievable! We were so shocked and excited that our $170 meal was FREE (we provided cash tip of course). The waitress said my mom was lucky. Even though we won, the waitress still was kind enough to give us a pair of nice Yama chopsticks. That was very sweet. From those series of events I decided to give this place a 5 star. The general manager was a funny tall guy and took photos with us after too. I had a wonderful time here despite the cons.

We were seated at our reservation time. I opted to forego the "show" ... being seated at a community table for the chef show. But clearly this is the primary focus of this restaurant. The 5-10 smaller individual 2 and 4-tops are adjacent to the bar. The place was packed, and so noisy I couldn't even hear the other person at my table. But on the flip side, it looked and sounded like the people at the community "show" tables were having a ball. Lots of birthdays and celebrations. Anyway, great menu. Started with a couple inspired cocktails, and moved on to the fish taco's and lamb chop appetizers. Outstanding. Only nit, our server disappeared, and the app plates were left on table when our main courses showed up. We were also never serviced for another round of drinks. For our mains I ordered the Wagyu filet with asparagas and fried rice sides cooked medium. My dining guest ordered the salmon roll and a side of fried rice. My steak came out gray and rare, no sear crust at all. Very disappointing. On the flip side my dining partners portion of fried rice was astoundingly large, and good. Never did see our server again until the check was brought over. We were not even offered the dessert menu other than the small pineapple sherbet that came with my meal. Parking is brutal here. Very crowded area on weekend. Had a long walk to restaurant entrance. Don't think this will be on my repeat list.

1 Star - Very Disappointing Customer Service…read more I had a very disappointing experience here, mainly because of the poor customer service I received from an employee named Alice. From the moment I tried to get assistance, she came across as rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping. What made the experience even more frustrating was that every time I needed assistance, Alice seemed to suddenly become busy with something else, making me feel like I was being intentionally ignored. I understand that employees have responsibilities and can get busy, but there is a difference between genuinely being occupied and making a customer feel like they are a bother. A little courtesy, acknowledgment, and basic professionalism go a long way. Unfortunately, none of that was present during my interaction with Alice. No customer should have to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome simply for asking for assistance. I hope management takes customer service more seriously and addresses this kind of behavior. Customers deserve to be treated with respect, regardless of how busy an employee may be. Based on this experience, I left feeling extremely disappointed and would think twice before returning.

The place is pretty busy, we came around 7pm on a Friday night and waited about 20 minutes for a table of 4. I do have some notes for the restaurant, for one the tables inside are arranged sort of awkwardly so that it was quite difficult to get out of our table in order to use the restroom, and I had to ask someone in a different party to move their chair. In addition the timing of the dishes coming out is somewhat random. We ordered shrimp and veggie tempura in addition to some sushi, and even though they were appetizers both the tempura dishes came out after the sushi. In addition there was a decent gap in between the veggie and shrimp tempura, so long that we thought maybe they forgot about the shrimp but they didn't. These are just small improvements, still giving 5 stars for the quality of the food and overall service.
