We went two days in a row during our weekend stay in town! Ambiance (5/5): Plenty of seating indoors and some outdoor as well. Classic diner set up and ability to onlook where the wait staff prepare the finishing touches to the dishes. Service (5/5): The service for this joint is very much which made my experience. The wait staff women were a delight-- sweet, friendly, and eager to help! They provided updates, refreshed our beverages, sincere when an error was made, and provided recommendations too. Food (5/5): There is so much on the menu to try! Huge portions for an affordable rate. Don't miss out on their freshly baked goods. We loved the cinnamon bun over the coffee cake but both were very good and served warm. The pulled pork benedict special was very tender and had loads of flavor. I enjoyed the corned beef but liked the benedict more. The second day, we enjoyed omelet and brioche bun French toast. read more

I decided it was time to try out the Jensen Beach downtown experience. The Ambiance: With a view of the ocean actually a side view from afar, the downtown area, although not as cute as Stuart's downtown, is pretty nice. The only issue is the traffic noise, which is considerable. The inside restaurant area is your typical breakfast restaurant with booths and tables. The outside dining area features several tables on the sidewalk with that side view of the ocean and a frontal view of all that previously mentioned traffic. For my dining experience I chose the outside. The Service: My server did a great job taking my order, making sure my drinks were replenished and actually getting my somewhat unusual hot tea with steamed milk and honey correct on the first try! The Food: Besides the traffic, here's where the restaurant falls on its sword. I ordered corned beef hash topped with poached eggs a side of "crispy" home fries and buttered sour dough toast. The Good: The highlight of the meal was the "homemade" corned beef hash. I'm always hesitant to order "homemade" corn beef hash because it's often full of items it really doesn't need. However, this corned beef hash was absolutely excellent and it was clear that it was really "homemade". The sour bread toast was also done properly and was amply buttered instead of what you get at so many places which provide a dash of butter, brushed on by a butter brush. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends. The Bad: My poached eggs were overdone featuring not a hint of runny yolks and those "crispy" home fries that I made a point of asking for, were about as far away from crisp as you could imagine. In fact they were probably the most mushy home fries I've ever had. The Price: I must say, the price was not bad but, I'd prefer to pay a bit more and get a better breakfast anytime! read more

Jan's Place is always a definite stop whenever we're in Jensen Beach! From the moment you walk in and smell the cinnamon buns baking, you know you're in for something special. We were seated right away, and the friendly staff made us feel instantly welcome. My husband had the smoothie, and it was spot on--just as delicious as the ones we make at home. I had the Sunrise Burger on an English muffin, cooked perfectly to a medium and bursting with flavor. The crispy, hot, perfectly seasoned French fries that came with it were the ideal side. Service was amazing too--someone was always coming around to top off drinks, and my tea stayed piping hot. Every visit here is consistently wonderful. Great food, great people, and that unmistakable small-town charm keep us coming back year after year read more

This place is like an old school dinner/coffee shop. The service is great and you can tell locals come here and tourists return. This was our second visit. The drinks were ok but mostly juice, not much vodka. I had to add water to my bloody because it was too tomatoey. . The food is good, not great. The cinnamon rolls which they tout were very disappointing. Doughy and the icing didn't have great flavor. None of us were really impressed and probably will not make a third visit here. read more

Our gang of 4 enjoyed our return to Jan's Place. Brief wait, mid-day, off-season. Enjoyed Rib-eye Steak and 3 Eggs with potatoes and rye toast, breakfast tacos with chorizo, Fosters French Toast, and potato cakes on the side. All delicious. Funny, attentive service. Small gripe: Starting in November, switching to mandatory service fee in lieu of tips because of Florida's new minimum wage law. Expect other restaurants to follow. Credit card surcharge...now standard in Florida read more

Came with company from out of the country to our favorite place for breakfast. Everything about Jan's Place is done with precision. Each of us ordered something different. Our guest had the California Benedict, my son had the meat lovers omelette of which it was so large he could only eat half and I ate my fave the egg's Neptune Benedict of which I ate the whole breakfast and loved it all. The lobster sauce is second to none! The service is very special because everyone is happy and pleasant and really treats the guests with a special kind of caring and professionalism. The restaurant has a steady stream of customers and we received our table in order of our position- moves steadily and fairly! read more

After finding that our favorite breakfast place was no longer, we tried Jan's for a late breakfast. I had fried eggs and ham. Eggs are eggs as is toast. The hasbrowns came crispy as I asked and the ham slice was huge. I brought half home. My husband ordered the French Dip with fries. The crazy man said it might have had too much cheese but it was very good. He brought half home and I ate another day for lunch and heated in the oven it was still very good. We will defiantly visit again the next time we are in Jensen Beach. read more

Had another good experience at Jan's. Arrived late on a Friday afternoon - just before closing. Sat outside, had the BLT on sourdough instead of a croissant and salmon, crab, and asparagus eggs Benedict. Good food all around. My wife loved the poached salmon, the eggs were cooked perfectly too. My BLT was a haphazardly thrown together but who cares? Tasted good and fresh - works for me! The REAL treat? Sweet potato fries. These are the most unique and tasty sweet potato fries I've ever had. Thick cut, almost steak fries. DELICIOUS! Server was Drew - he was pleasant, helpful, and efficient. No complaints! read more

Probably the worst meal in 3 weeks in Florida . The so called Stacked Corn beef sandwich was nothing but a mess of minced corn beef with sauerkraut and cheese . It was highly buttered and grilled on a flattop making it a greasy mess ! Took it apart and ate it with a fork . There was so little corn beef that we couldn't even taste the corn beef . read more

Totally over rated. The place is like zoo inside, not very relaxing after you have to wait 1/2 hrs for a table!

We came Sunday morning and there was a wait. The hostess was very friendly and while we waited, we shopped the gift shop next door. We found some cute earrings for $1. They also had coffee at the front, which was so nice to sip on while waiting. When we finally sat down, our server was very friendly and attentive. Their menu was very reasonably priced. I got the seafood benedict- it was delicious. Husband got the seafood omelette - it was equally as delicious. We had a really nice experience here- every town needs a Jan's :) read more

Jan's Place has been a favorite since my childhood, especially for breakfast. But after being away for ten years, my recent visit didn't live up to my memories. The eggs were spot on, but the ribeye was disappointing - no proper sear, tough, and overcooked to a dull grey instead of medium-rare. Even with lots of salt and pepper, it lacked flavor. The hashbrowns were cold, and the coffee was just okay. The rushed service didn't help either. We felt pushed to leave quickly, even though it wasn't busy. I hope it was just an off day. I'll give Jan's place another shot someday in the future as this had to just be a bad day. read more

If we lived in the area Jan's would be a place we would visit regularly. The portions were enormous! They offer a variety of cocktails and beer. The breakfast and lunch choices re available all day. Our server was super friendly and I believe the owner or at least the manager checked on us several times (as we were outside) to make sure our dog was ok. My husband had the tuna salad sandwich, and I had the key west salad. The pictures do not do them justices we are eaters and had to take half of it home. Even in the heat of the day the outside seating was comfortable. Umbrellas were available. They also have a huge bakery selection but we were too full to check them out. The only think I would recommend is that they have some sort of fly catcher. Eating outside with our dog I realize is a privilege that we so appreciate. The flies just make it challenging. read more

3.5 for sure. Always wanting to try Jan's since we moved here a few years ago, we finally remembered and had the opportunity to try this past Sunday. Usually we go to Berry Fresh. Sunday around 11.30 and 40 minute wait. Was a nice day out so sat outside and chilled, no worries. There was some coffee for when you waited, but they seemed to run out quickly. Folks working here couldn't be nicer, really mean that. And the place is old but in a good way. We ordered a cinnamon bun as they are known for these; Quite good! Between the 4 of us: 1) Corn beef hash omelet. really liked this 2) Chicken and waffles. Didn't care for. Didn't taste homemade at all. I am a huge fan of C&W, and this one didn't fit the bill. Was over sauced as well. 3) Pancakes and eggs and sausage. Can't go wrong here. We left saying we liked but...... May try again. read more

Always have a great breakfast at Jan's place for years. I wish fresh food, great service, friendly, and attentive.

Jan's Place is our go-to breakfast spot when we are in Jensen Beach. It is always crowded, yes, but the wait isn't bad and there is sometimes availability at the bar. Plus, they have a cute gift shop to browse while you wait, as well as complimentary coffee. They have the best country fried steak (my fav!) and my husband fell in love with their Cajun Ribeye Benedict. Lovely staff and a great homey atmosphere. read more

This place takes 'diner breakfast' to another level! This was my first time coming here, but based on pictures from other reviews I believe they recently updated the menu. I had never had an eggs Benedict before, but the people in my party told me THIS was the place to try it. They were 1000% right. I ordered the Neptune from the Sea--two poached eggs over an English muffin with Shrimp, Crab, and Scallops drizzled with Lobster Sherry Sauce. Yea, my stomach is growling just typing that out. Our waitress (so friendly!) happily obliged my substitute of no scallops for more crab, which made it even more perfect in my opinion. You could tell the seafood was absolutely fresh (no imitation crab here!) and generously buttered and seasoned. I added a side of cheese grits (they don't skimp on the cheese!) and enjoyed bottomless coffee, which our waitress was prompt with coming by and topping our table off. There's indoor and outdoor seating, mostly booths. They waited until our whole party was there to sit us. Since there was 9 of us we had to be split into two tables, but at least they were next to each other. We had two waitresses serving us, and even with the restaurant being relatively busy our food came out in about 15-20 min. Decor inside is cute and kitschy. Nautical theme, very easy vibe. I really liked the neat variety of coffee mugs. My boyfriend's mom had a Busch Gardens mug from the 90's while I had one from a doctor's office. I can't wait to go back and try literally everything on the menu. Definitely want to try some of their drinks too--they have Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, and signature coffee cocktails. read more

While visiting Jensen Beach, we decided to get breakfast at Jan's Place. The restaurant was bustling and we waited about 15 minutes for a table. Our respective breakfast choices came out hot and delicious...well worth the wait. My husband loved his omelette and my eggs were perfect with crispy bacon. We chose the homemade biscuits and they did not disappoint. Our server was so efficient and friendly. The restaurant was well lit and full of life, but not loud. I would highly recommend a visit to Jan's Place and will definitely return if I find myself in Jensen Beach again! read more

I arrived 20 minutes before they closed. I mistakenly thought they were open a bit later. Paul greeted me warmly at the door and asked if I'd like a table inside or outside. I preferred inside. He walked me to my table, pointed out some daily specials, asked if I was local or visiting and once again thanked me for dining and introduced me to my server Lisa. Lisa had wonderful energy and took great pride in her job. She repeatedly visited each table checking on guests snd making sure they were comfortable and happy with their food. I ordered the Country Fried Steak and Eggs(scrambled with cheese) with a side of Pancakes . I also ordered the Meat Lovers Omelet with a side of Biscuits and Gravy. I washed all down with a glass of the sweetest freshly squeezed Orange Juice I've ever had. This was a truly exceptional Breakfast Diner dining experience. Every box checked from the MLB theme and atmosphere to the greet and service all the way till I walked out the door. Bravo Jan's, world class establishment in Jensen Beach read more
