We were seated right away, and the friendly staff made us feel instantly welcome. My husband had the smoothie, and it was spot on--just as delicious as the ones we make at home. I had the Sunrise Burger on an English muffin, cooked perfectly to a medium and bursting with flavor. The crispy, hot, perfectly seasoned French fries that came with it were the ideal side. This place is like an old school dinner/coffee shop. The service is great and you can tell locals come here and tourists return. This was our second visit. The drinks were ok but mostly juice, not much vodka. I had to add water to my bloody because it was too tomatoey. . The food is good, not great. Came with company from out of the country to our favorite place for breakfast. Everything about Jan's Place is done with precision. Each of us ordered something different. Our guest had the California Benedict, my son had the meat lovers omelette of which it was so large he could only eat half and I ate my fave the egg's Neptune Benedict of which I ate the whole breakfast and loved it all. Sat outside, had the BLT on sourdough instead of a croissant and salmon, crab, and asparagus eggs Benedict. Good food all around. My wife loved the poached salmon, the eggs were cooked perfectly too. My BLT was a haphazardly thrown together but who cares? Tasted good and fresh - works for me! The REAL treat? Sweet potato fries. These are the most unique and tasty sweet potato fries I've ever had. Probably the worst meal in 3 weeks in Florida . The so called Stacked Corn beef sandwich was nothing but a mess of minced corn beef with sauerkraut and cheese . We came Sunday morning and there was a wait. The hostess was very friendly and while we waited, we shopped the gift shop next door. We found some cute earrings for $1. They also had coffee at the front, which was so nice to sip on while waiting. When we finally sat down, our server was very friendly and attentive. Their menu was very reasonably priced. Jan's Place has been a favorite since my childhood, especially for breakfast. But after being away for ten years, my recent visit didn't live up to my memories. The eggs were spot on, but the ribeye was disappointing - no proper sear, tough, and overcooked to a dull grey instead of medium-rare. Even with lots of salt and pepper, it lacked flavor. The hashbrowns were cold, and the coffee was just okay. The rushed service didn't help either. We felt pushed to leave quickly, even though it wasn't busy. I hope it was just an off day. I'll give Jan's place another shot someday in the future as this had to just be a bad day. read more

While visiting Jensen Beach, we decided to get breakfast at Jan's Place. The restaurant was bustling and we waited about 15 minutes for a table. Our respective breakfast choices came out hot and delicious...well worth the wait. My husband loved his omelette and my eggs were perfect with crispy bacon. We chose the homemade biscuits and they did not disappoint. Our server was so efficient and friendly. The restaurant was well lit and full of life, but not loud. I rarely write reviews but everyone there were very friendly. My eggs coukd have been a little softer but everything else was very good. The music was perfect, the wait staff were so nice and the prices were very reasonable. An added benefit that it's also a bakery. I had the blueberry muffin and the key lime pie. If we lived in the area Jan's would be a place we would visit regularly. The portions were enormous! They offer a variety of cocktails and beer. The breakfast and lunch choices re available all day. Our server was super friendly and I believe the owner or at least the manager checked on us several times (as we were outside) to make sure our dog was ok. My husband had the tuna salad sandwich, and I had the key west salad. The pictures do not do them justices we are eaters and had to take half of it home. Even in the heat of the day the outside seating was comfortable. Umbrellas were available. They also have a huge bakery selection but we were too full to check them out. The only think I would recommend is that they have some sort of fly catcher. Eating outside with our dog I realize is a privilege that we so appreciate. The flies just make it challenging. read more

Jan's Place is our go-to breakfast spot when we are in Jensen Beach. It is always crowded, yes, but the wait isn't bad and there is sometimes availability at the bar. Plus, they have a cute gift shop to browse while you wait, as well as complimentary coffee. I went there this morning with My Wife and two kids. We ordered the corned beef hash, and the ultimate French toast. The food was amazing especially the drinks. I ordered something called a Coco Loco rum drink and I also ordered a hot macchiato coffee to go with it and the drink was amazing. My Wife also ordered a smoothie and a smoothie was the best smoothie I've ever had better than the stuff that tropical smoothie makes we also got the kids food as well. My food came with a side of French toast My Wife upgraded hers to sausage and eggs and the amount of food we bought for the price is also very good on our pockets. Overall, the service was good. The waiter was amazing. Everyone was friendly and the food was also very good. The drinks were also very good. I recommend if you go there try out one of their breakfast drinks alcohol or nonalcoholic all of them seem to be made very well. Sunday around 11.30 and 40 minute wait. Was a nice day out so sat outside and chilled, no worries. There was some coffee for when you waited, but they seemed to run out quickly. Folks working here couldn't be nicer, really mean that. And the place is old but in a good way. We ordered a cinnamon bun as they are known for these; Quite good! Between the 4 of us: 1) Corn beef hash omelet. really liked this 2) Chicken and waffles. Didn't care for. Didn't taste homemade at all. I am a huge fan of C&W, and this one didn't fit the bill. I arrived 20 minutes before they closed. I mistakenly thought they were open a bit later. Paul greeted me warmly at the door and asked if I'd like a table inside or outside. I preferred inside. He walked me to my table, pointed out some daily specials, asked if I was local or visiting and once again thanked me for dining and introduced me to my server Lisa. Lisa had wonderful energy and took great pride in her job. She repeatedly visited each table checking on guests snd making sure they were comfortable and happy with their food. I ordered the Country Fried Steak and Eggs(scrambled with cheese) with a side of Pancakes . I also ordered the Meat Lovers Omelet with a side of Biscuits and Gravy. I washed all down with a glass of the sweetest freshly squeezed Orange Juice I've ever had. This was a truly exceptional Breakfast Diner dining experience. This place takes 'diner breakfast' to another level! This was my first time coming here, but based on pictures from other reviews I believe they recently updated the menu. I had never had an eggs Benedict before, but the people in my party told me THIS was the place to try it. They were 1000% right. I ordered the Neptune from the Sea--two poached eggs over an English muffin with Shrimp, Crab, and Scallops drizzled with Lobster Sherry Sauce. Yea, my stomach is growling just typing that out. Our waitress (so friendly!) happily obliged my substitute of no scallops for more crab, which made it even more perfect in my opinion. You could tell the seafood was absolutely fresh (no imitation crab here!) and generously buttered and seasoned. I added a side of cheese grits (they don't skimp on the cheese!) and enjoyed bottomless coffee, which our waitress was prompt with coming by and topping our table off. There's indoor and outdoor seating, mostly booths. They waited until our whole party was there to sit us. Since there was 9 of us we had to be split into two tables, but at least they were next to each other. We had two waitresses serving us, and even with the restaurant being relatively busy our food came out in about 15-20 min. Decor inside is cute and kitschy. Nautical theme, very easy vibe. I really liked the neat variety of coffee mugs. My boyfriend's mom had a Busch Gardens mug from the 90's while I had one from a doctor's office.
