California Benedict with Hollandaise on the side
Martine K.

This place is like an old school dinner/coffee shop. The service is great and you can tell locals come here and tourists return. This was our second visit. The drinks were ok but mostly juice, not much vodka. I had to add water to my bloody because it was too tomatoey. . The food is good, not great. The cinnamon rolls which they tout were very disappointing. Doughy and the icing didn't have great flavor. None of us were really impressed and probably will not make a third visit here.

Neptune Omelette and scrambled eggs for my dog Ed

I've been coming to this place for years as I found it on the first time I went to the Stuart Florida area. They always have the best breakfast which I get on a daily basis when I'm in town. Always friendly to my dog and make him his scrambled eggs along with my usual Neptune omelette. Do yourself a favor and visit

Rib-Eye Steak with Eggs

Our gang of 4 enjoyed our return to Jan's Place. Brief wait, mid-day, off-season. Enjoyed Rib-eye Steak and 3 Eggs with potatoes and rye toast, breakfast tacos with chorizo, Fosters French Toast, and potato cakes on the side. All delicious. Funny, attentive service. Small gripe: Starting in November, switching to mandatory service fee in lieu of tips because of Florida's new minimum wage law. Expect other restaurants to follow. Credit card surcharge...now standard in Florida

Neptune Benedict

Came with company from out of the country to our favorite place for breakfast. Everything about Jan's Place is done with precision. Each of us ordered something different. Our guest had the California Benedict, my son had the meat lovers omelette of which it was so large he could only eat half and I ate my fave the egg's Neptune Benedict of which I ate the whole breakfast and loved it all. The lobster sauce is second to none! The service is very special because everyone is happy and pleasant and really treats the guests with a special kind of caring and professionalism. The restaurant has a steady stream of customers and we received our table in order of our position- moves steadily and fairly!

I AM back- and glad I am! Breakfast doesn't get much better than this. Freshly prepared food served in a great place. Love the handmade art pieces that are everywhere and are for sale! Can't wait until next year's visit!

Salmon, crab, asparagus Benedict. Good!

Had another good experience at Jan's. Arrived late on a Friday afternoon - just before closing. Sat outside, had the BLT on sourdough instead of a croissant and salmon, crab, and asparagus eggs Benedict. Good food all around. My wife loved the poached salmon, the eggs were cooked perfectly too. My BLT was a haphazardly thrown together but who cares? Tasted good and fresh - works for me! The REAL treat? Sweet potato fries. These are the most unique and tasty sweet potato fries I've ever had. Thick cut, almost steak fries. DELICIOUS! Server was Drew - he was pleasant, helpful, and efficient. No complaints!

A year later and the food was still unbelievable. Service was spot on and still affordable. Had the Crab Cakes Benedict and they were great with nice cakes covered with a very smooth hollandaise. Nice visit again.

Was a casual diner vibe for breakfast. There were a lot of menu options to choose from with some unique specials. Service was quick as we went during the week so it was not very busy. Overall an enjoyable experience

Homemade cornbeef Hash and eggs

Visited here this morning and found the place to be very clean and inviting. I had the Crab Cake Benedict and enjoyed it, my friend had the cornbeef hash and said he isn't accustomed to fresh homemade Hash but liked it. The service was very very good and friendly. Try it, and let us know what you think.

The chicken and waffles you really have to try the chicken and waffle in this place. It's a small place. Staff is very friendly. You met with a great smile. Waiters are happy. Food is great just all around great atmosphere love this place.

Steak and eggs

Jan's Place has been a favorite since my childhood, especially for breakfast. But after being away for ten years, my recent visit didn't live up to my memories. The eggs were spot on, but the ribeye was disappointing - no proper sear, tough, and overcooked to a dull grey instead of medium-rare. Even with lots of salt and pepper, it lacked flavor. The hashbrowns were cold, and the coffee was just okay. The rushed service didn't help either. We felt pushed to leave quickly, even though it wasn't busy. I hope it was just an off day. I'll give Jan's place another shot someday in the future as this had to just be a bad day.

Sister trying to decide what to eat off the varied menu.

First, the food was beyond our expectations! The servings were big and food delicious. We prefer mom and pop restaurants and this was welcoming and relaxed. We would love to return!

Ask the Community - Jan's Place

Are the dog friendly?

Jan's has a small seating area outside the front of the restaurant. I believe dogs are OK there. TO be sure, just call the restaurant.

Good espresso coffee?

A rich, smooth, French roast coffee and excellent cocktails. I don't recall expresso.

Great food, great vibe, and consistently satisfying from start to finish. If you're looking for legit BBQ in Jensen Beach, this is the place. Five tails up--we'll definitely be back.

I was disappointed that they don't bring you water when you sit unless you ask for it so that kind of stopped me from giving 5 stars. Also the fryer wasn't working so when they brought our food we didn't get to try their fries or fried cheese curds. However I would so then to take is back their on another visit so hopefully we will get to try them then. Atmosphere is nice with plenty of seating and they have a chalkboard with their live music appearances. I'm not a big country music fan but if you are, you probably want to visit this place sometime. Crabby's is so consistent I like to say, "The worse meal I've ever had here was excellent" Tonight was no exception. This was our second visit on this trip. On our first, we ordered grilled Tilefish and blackened Mahi Mahi. Both were outstanding. Flavorful and moist. (in my opinion , overcooked seafood is nothing more than cat food) I've never had an overcooked meal here. On this visit, I ordered whole belly clams. My wife opted for clam strips. Both were also outstanding making another perfect visit. With our meals, sides offered include Cole slaw, hush puppies, fresh vegetables and plantains. I especially love the plantains and usually get them each time. Service remains flawless. One change we notices this year is a "service charge" of 18% its added to the bill and is a gratuity shared with the wait staff. I generally oppose service charges that are often labeled 'not a gratuity" but this is not the case here. Service is so good, it is appropriate to add to this service charge when we check out. Again, hats off to the owner/management. Maintaining excellence at the level they have been able to is not all that common from my experiences. Keep up the great work!

I have rated ALL of the other locations no less than 4 stars. The scene: Sunday evening with another couple. Arrived 15 minutes before the end of happy hour. The place was not crowded. The bartender/server/official apologizer took drink orders and a smoked fish dip starter. The dip arrived with drinks, including an unexplained cloudy draft beer. The dip was just meh- nothing special. Nothing made in house. The jalapeño slices and pepperoncini were standard and the packaged crackers were broken. It was 6:10 when our orders were taken. The place was starting to clear out but we noticed a large number of take out orders being picked up from food deliveries. Could this be causing our delay in getting our food? Our fish dip plate was never bused. We were finally offered a refresh of drinks. I asked for an iced tea. Nope. The machine was down. Another apology. About 7pm the manager/chef dashed out and...apologized for the delay. Said the kitchen was getting slammed. Yes, from the take out orders! Maybe they should take care of the seated diners first and give a realistic wait delivery time to the call in orders. Oh, and the manager....apologized....and said they couldn't serve the chicken piccata special because they were out of the egg wash. Read THAT again. Egg wash is eggs and water or maybe milk. It's a simple recipe. And. they. were. out. Our eye rolls made clicking sounds like a doll's eye sockets. By 7:35 our entrees arrived. Not with jubilation but with that sickening feeling you get when the doctor re-enters your exam room without a smile. My entree was cold. Another's burger was undercooked and came with the wrong side. The piccata replacement of fish tacos was okay and I forgot what the other entree was because too much time had passed. The bartender/server suggested dessert like she knew our answer. 8:00pm we paid a slightly reduced bill, bumped into some Door Dash guys and left very disappointed. Oh, the one star is for the ambiance: in the old Jensen Beach Hotel. Summary: Not THIS location.
