I have no idea why there are so many reviews or why it took us so long to try Janinos. My family and I visited for the first time tonight and had the best experience! Our server, Jennifer, was incredible. So personable, great with our kids and went above and beyond several times with her service. Be wary if you order for a pick up. Because I live a half a mile away, I tried their to-go ordering online. I arrived there a couple of minutes early, and it was waiting for me. At home, I found it was room temperature at best. Okay, give 'em another chance. Same result, except this time it seems they literally just tossed on the pepperoni and it landed on just one side. I then saw how there was a mystery fee of $5 and a default tip for about the same amount. Didn't see the default tip but maybe should have. I messaged them twice to please explain the mystery fee. Both times they sent an auto-response merely thanking me for asking. Nothing more. I found nothing on their website about the $5 fee. Could be there, but it's buried somewhere from what I can tell. I read in another couple of reviews that their attitude there can be rude. Yeah, I'm sure other people have found them excellent etc. My experience, though, was so bad that I will not order from them again. read more

Great little community bar and dining room. In between lunch and dinner, all seating is in the bar area, at least it was the two times I've been during that period. They had a fire but have reopened with the same look and feel. The food tastes good, it's always been hot and fresh. The kitchen has lost our order twice but the server has told us about it and made sure to check in with us and the kitchen until our order arrives. She's pretty talkative and has some funny stories. We usually get their pizza, but everything I've ordered so far has been really good and plentiful. read more

Placed an order online. I went to pick it up and received a text saying my order was ready. The girl at the counter said they were just packing it up. 12 minutes later I go back and ask if it's ready yet. She goes back in the kitchen for a few minutes and gets the manager. I show the manager my text saying my order is ready and she goes and tries to find my order. After another 5 minutes I told them to don't worry about it and just give me my money back. The chef and manager both came out at that point and asked if they could make something for me for no charge. At first I declined as I was in a hurry but they kept offering anything I wanted. I told them I wasn't looking for anything free and just wanted my order. 10 minutes later they me my order and included a salad and fried green beans that had not ordered. They manager gave me my food and told me a found would be processed the next day.I thanked her for making the situation right. However, the refund was never issued. As I said, I was not looking for anything free, but when they state multiple times that a refund would be given and then it is not you must question their integrity. There are many choices for take out on the Eastern Shore that actually value your business and treat you with respect. I definately will not be back read more

If you don't mind the staff being coked out while they wait your table and the pizzas being hit abs miss this place is pretty good. Their burger is absolutely delicious. The staff has been high on something every time I've gone but that being said, they don't have to write anything down and everything comes out as ordered. So there's that. I feel like if they made the staff stop using on the clock then the food quality would improve and so would the reviews. Really nice folks and great service but the pizza and marinara needs a lot more soul. Very clean place and you can never fault a place for hanging up a Jerome Bettis jersey. Well, we just found the worst pizza place in Baldwin county. We ordered a 18 inch thin and crispy peperoni with Italian sausage on half and extra cheese. To begin with, the pizza was burnt to a crisp, there was not enough cheese on the whole pizza for one slice so we got ripped paying for extra cheese. there was very little peperoni and the pizza over all was so bare of toppings that there were a lot of dough bubbles on the bare pizza. they did put plenty of sausage on half of the pizza but like I said the pizza was burnt. Just awful and very disappointing. Any other pizza place would be better. read more

It's excellent Pizza at a reasonable price. You choose the size, and choose from the extensive toppings list. Tried it once, and now eat there regularly. I've never been disappointed. But takeout is best in my opinion. It can get crowded. read more

Ordered online. It said 40-45 for takeout. I show up with about 10 mins to spare. Pizzas feel cold but I took them anyway. Not even warm when I opened them at home 5 mins later. Congealed, garbage pizza. My kids were starving so I microwaved theirs and took the other one back. They told me "the pizzas came out early and you should've picked them up sooner." Offered to remake the pizza but at this point it was 8:00 at night. Would only credit me for the one I brought back, and only on a future visit, even though I had pictures to show them what the other looked like. Manager wouldn't come out and talk to me. Food was ok. I will say the first time we ordered from them the food was outstanding and well worth it. And, I understand that delivery is not the same as going to a restaurant. For 50+ dollars, for 2 calzones and a order of fried mushrooms... not a terrible deal for delivery. Unfortunately the delivery driver was very pleasant and early, but somehow the food was cold. They gave us 1 small cup of marinara to split between 2 calzones, and nothing to dip the somewhat cooked fried mushrooms that had obviously been soaked in the overly used fryer. They tasted like the oil was months old, looked like they were burnt, yet the batter was still not crispy on the inside. We had a specialty pizza delivered through DoorDash yesterday and my husband says it was one of the best pizzas he has ever had- he's usually a tough critic. The toppings were distributed very well, the crust was the perfect thickness with a little crunch while also staying soft, and the sauce was amazing. Very disappointed! Place had just opened for lunch and watched them unwrap a day old pizza. Took 2 slices resauced them more cheese and threw in the oven. That slice weighed a ton don't know how it still had some raw dough. Asked them to redo the slice and not put any extra sauce or cheese just heat it up. Still uncooked dough absolutely terrible. We really like Janino's and have enjoyed many a pizza there over the years. However, the last 2 visits one about a month ago and one earlier today we have walked into a very unpleasant atmosphere where one or more employees were for some reason unhappy and wanted to make sure we were a part of their unhappiness. This is an Italian restaurant. The appetizer was mozzarella sticks, crunchy with marinara sauce,but nothing to phone home about. Defined frozen sticks. We had the Stromboli. We shared it because the portions are very big and the food is hearty. The Stromboli is very bready. The spice was delicious and the sauce was fresh and full of flavor. This was our first time ordering pizza from Janininos. We ordered that we ordered was the Janinino 24" meat pizza. We had 5 chow hounds and we had almost 1/2 of the pizza left. The pizza was good it had a fair amount of toppings, my only complaint was that it needed a bit more sauce for my taste. Other than that it was a good pizza and good value.
