The Bull (house) draft beer $3

No problem with service on 5/11/25. Had one of the pizzas, The Matador, and it was excellent. Cooked perfectly, nice dough & crust, toppings were plentiful and noticed the real crispy bacon and beef on it. It was exactly what I was craving and not some frozen popped in the oven type of pizza. Craft beer selection was decent although a few were out of stock. The house draft, The Bull $3.00 is also available during Happy Hour $0.99 and it's a quality light beer. Also had the grouper bites and they were good, for a fried fish nibble. I'd prefer a non fried option but it was just an appetizer. I was very pleased with my visit. Shout out to bartender Audrey, who is a quality bartender and delight to deal with.

To begin this was our first visit! I must say in advance the owner did speak with us 4 times and apologized! No excuse!! To open a new restaurant you should be well prepared to provide the utmost experience and quality service to all customers who enter. So this review will speak of my experience and what occurred! We entered the place and saw a sign saying seat yourself. Then a male server approached us saying his name, telling us that he will be taking care of us. We ordered our drinks! Mind you no menus on the table nor did the server provide any! We had to get our own from another table! They have no fountain drinks, only in bottles! So I asked the waiter for water and that was never brought to me! When he returned we ordered our appetizers! I ordered the fried pepper jack cheese bites! So another server brings our appetizers and what was brought to me was snapper bites!!! Seriously?? After that was corrected, we literally sat there for 20 mins waiting for our server to return to take our order! After looking back towards the bar area trying to find him about 20 times, finally a woman approaches and says can I help you. I said I am looking for our server! So at this time, another woman approached and says her name saying I will be taking care of you! She takes our order finally but I asked her what happened to our server and she replied apparently his shift was over and left! Why weren't we told of this?? Who says I'll take care of you and leaves?? Here another 20 minutes goes by and a male server asked what did we order in which I pointed saying that lady there took our order! He apologized and said it wasn't in the system! I had to ask him water in which he brought it to me! So, come to find out that lady who took our order said to the other male server that she never took our order! What!! OMG! Afterwards we found out from the owner she walked out and quit! Sadly to say the pictures as shown was my paradise burger! The receipt said burgers well done! We were never addressed in the beginning how we would like our burger cooked for one, secondly if this is the quality food they send out, is beyond unacceptable! A burnt bun?? To go thru all this, we still had to pay for the meal! The owner didn't even try to compensate anything on behalf or what we went thru but said to us as we walked out, I'm truly sorry please come back and I'll personally take care of you! In my opinion it's not his job to that, it's the unexperienced workers who don't give a crap these days to know how to properly handle customer service!

The pizza was burnt on the bottom and the dough was still raw on the other half. Prices are a bit too high.

    Bar Area

The Bull is a great addition to Spanish Fort and the Eastern Shore area! The service was great, all staff were friendly and very personable. Great beer tap selection and varied selection of cocktails. We just had a couple of appetizer and the BBQ nachos as well as the Pretzel were great. I will admit I wasn't a huge fan of the beer cheese for the pretzel though, but this is a new establishment and the management seems extremely open to feedback and working through the growing pains they are experiencing. Overall this is a great establishment and we will definitely be back!

My destination: Janino's Pizza, a beacon of warmth and comfort food, or so I thought. I stepped inside, shivering, hoping to find solace in melted cheese and red sauce. The air smelled faintly of garlic and despair. The lights flickered above us -- not dramatically, but just enough to remind me that fate had a sense of humor. I ordered a pepperoni roll and the legendary "unlimited pasta and meatballs." Unlimited, they said. Unlimited hope, perhaps. The menu promised indulgence, but the universe had other plans. When I asked for a drink, the cashier's eyes went hollow. "We don't have any of those," she said. None. Of. Them. Not Coke, not Sprite, not even water with a smile. Just the sound of the soda machine hissing in quiet defeat. I tried to stay optimistic. After all, the food would surely make up for it. But then -- horror struck. Our food arrived. Hot, steaming, ready to be devoured. But there was a problem. No silverware. There we sat, staring at the steaming plates like survivors of a shipwreck watching rescue drift away. The pepperoni roll mocked me -- glistening, taunting. The pasta sat there, bathing in red sauce glory, untouchable, a forbidden treasure. Minutes ticked by. I began to question reality. Was this a test? A lesson in patience? Were we meant to eat spaghetti with our bare hands like medieval peasants? My inner monologue grew darker with every second. Finally, after what felt like an eternity (but was probably seven minutes), the silverware arrived -- carried like holy relics by a tired server who avoided eye contact, perhaps haunted by the chaos of the night. The food itself? It was... fine. But the experience -- oh, the experience -- will live forever in my mind as the night Janino's Pizza tested my spirit. If you ever go there, bring your own drink. And maybe -- just maybe -- pack a fork.

The cook then stood at the kitchen door with her phone to video us for some reason, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL The food was less than spectacular, and definitely won't eat there again. The atmosphere at Buster's Brick Oven seems more upscale than the more dive bar ambiance of Manci's. They offer more than just pizza here but pizza seems to be the featured item. I sampled a Margherita pizza at Buster's Brick Oven and honestly it wasn't my favorite version of that particular pizza but it was alright. I also tried their Bison Burger which I ordered medium and it arrived with charred, burned and very crunchy meat on the outside but better on the inside with a side of charred and burned green beans... I will be sticking with the food on the Manci's Antique Club side! Ultimately the food on the Manci's side is far superior to me. The same folks that own Callaghan's Irish Social Club in Mobile have taken over Manci's and added the pizza addition of Buster's Brick Oven. Overall this is a great neighborhood spot which gives you the choice of the more "upscale" pizza side or the more classic dive bar side with different menus available in each. So far my experience with Buster's Brick Oven has convinced me to stick with the food at Manci's!
