The second that you walk in, you are greeted with a welcome. It was a nice surprise to be greeted so promptly. The place has a hippie vibe with heavy mushroom theme, but it works well. Order taker was very attentive and confirmed the order. Once it arrived, the server waited to confirm everything was ok. read more

They are pretty busy for a Saturday afternoon around 3pm to my surprise. Our server is kinda snappy like she has too many tables at the moment. This is your typical pizza place but I do prefer their crust and white sauce. They have sat us in the bar area today and they have new table and chairs since our last visit and it looks great. We have ordered the Holy Shiitake with added grilled chicken and as always they never disappoint. read more

We had a craving for pizza and the Mellow Mushroom was close to our hotel. After a day of driving, we wanted something close. We are so happy we found this place. We started with a Greek salad. We split a small one and that was a good amount. It was full of lots of fresh veggies including peppers, cucumbers, mushrooms, tomatoes and Kalamata olives. It was a little skimpy on the tomatoes but the generous portion of Kalamata olives made it forgivable. Next we had 5 naked wings (no sauce). They came out steaming and were nice and crispy. Lots of veggies as a side. Finally, we got a small pizza with pepperoni and black olives. Again, served so hot. I loved the hand tossed crust. Very good. Our service was excellent. The place was hopping for dinner on a Friday night but we got a nice booth by the window before the rush. I liked the psychedelic vibe. They had nice mocktails too. Great stop. read more

if I've done a review it's been a while so let me just say again this place is great the food is always wonderful and the service is even better! Best happy hour in town on tap beer plus a pizza that you can always take half of them to eat later that evening or for lunch the next day..... light sauce, heavy sauce, no onions, sautéed onions, it's cooked exactly like you want you just have to say light or heavy on the Cook time. Wear a jacket it can't be chilly! read more

I got stuck out all day without breakfast and was famished. Unfortunately I'm gluten free and dairy free. I called The Mellow Mushroom Daphne near Lowe's and ask if they had GF DF pizza and they said yes!! I was nearby so I pulled in to see that they are celebrating their 50th anniversary! Wow!! I ordered and it was delectable. I got it with tomatoe sauce, vegan cheese, mushrooms ( mellow of course) and caramelized onions. My only complaint is that there always seems to be an up charge for gluten free and dairy free stuff, but that's the same everywhere. The restaurant was clean. The service was cheerful. I was able to be seated immediately and I didn't have to wait long for my pizza. I would go back again. read more

i stopped at Mellow Mushroom during a road trip through Alabama and honestly had a really good experience. I was having a long bad day but even when It was super busy when we went, our server, Charlie, stayed on top of everything and never looked stressed out. he was really attentive, quick with everything, and made sure we were good the whole time. you could tell he's used to working in a fast-paced environment because he handled everything smoothly even with how busy it was. definitely one of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant in a while. read more

I hadn't been to Mellow Mushroom in years as none near our home survived the pandemic, so I was thrilled to go here for dinner while in town. Sadly my past go to potato pizza is no longer on the menu...but I quickly got over it when I tried the Merry Prankster. Holy cow it was amazing. The crust was firm enough to hold the pizza but also soft and not too chewy. The herb aioli mixed with the veggies and meat for a perfect flavor. The kids loved their kids' pizzas and our server was very attentive. While they were a bit busy, she was not be overwhelmed and kept us in mind. read more

This is my sixth Mellow location to try. Daphne location delivered a solid Mellow Mushroom experience. Quality food and service in a 70's vibe pizza spot. read more

okay pizza service was slow and pizza was soggy almost like slop but not horrible in a way

Another completely forgettable pizza in Baldwin county. $29 for a large pizza is nuts, too. Not worth the bother.

Came in at 9:23 when they close at 10. They immediately started starring at us and whispering to the other workers and a guy sitting at the bar even said "their nice people!" We didn't even say or do anything but I guess since it was close to closing time they were upset we came in. We immediately just left didn't even order anything. read more

Mellow Mushroom is our favorite pizza on the Eastern Shore!! My husband and I ordered our favorite House Special pizza which has bacon, black olives, tomato, bell pepper and pepperoni. We always ask for the garlic butter to dip the crust. MM pizza is so yummy that we even eat the crust. As an additional bonus tonight with our purchase, we received a free small cheese pizza as a perk for subscribing to emails from MM. read more

The family went to the Daphne location. It was very busy. Our daughter and grandson had to park across the street as the parking lot was full. Our server was very polite and helpful. We ordered the kids 1st. My husband had the pumpkin beer. It was served in a glass goblet with sugar and cinnamon on the rim. Looked really nice. He liked it so much he had 2. I had the pretzel bites with spicy cheese. The Foley location spicy cheese was far much better. There wasn't any spice except for a single slice of pickled jalapeño. It still tasted good though. My husband absolutely loved his pizza. The kids cheese pizza was devoured very quickly by the kids. The sundae and chocolate brownie was also eaten very quickly. So, overall a very good experience. read more

I didn't take pictures, I had a rough morning. We were greeted promptly and sat in the bar area. The bartender waited on us. We started with the buffalo wings and there were 5 scrawny wings but tasty too little for $10. We decided to share a steak and cheese calzone and it was huge and tasted great. We then shared a brownie, it didn't have nuts, but it had chunks of fudge so for me it was too rich. We sat there without tea because the bartender found other duties behind the bar to do but she eventually came around. This visit wasn't as nice as the last visit so it will probably be awhile before we return. read more

While wondering through the area I saw a sign for this place and figured I would check it out. From the outside it is a very typical looking restaurant, with a cool looking floating granite sphere. I side is very different, and I didn't really know what to expect out of the food. I didn't know what to order, so I depend on the waitress, which was more than willing to recommend something. We ended up getting the house pizza, which is pretty much every vegetable they have, and some other goodies. I was not let down by that. To pair with this I tried to the Lemon Submarine, which was perfect for summer. I would absolutely recommend this place to others. read more

Went a few weeks ago to have a late lunch/early dinner. I ordered a medium House Special pizza. Pizza was hot and fresh. Plenty to take home and eat later. It was everything I hoped it would be. Restaurant was clean and so were the restrooms. Only thing is..the pizza was very pricey for a medium ($26+ tax). Will definitely go back though. read more

Stop here for pizza! Wonderful lunch at Mellow Mushroom in Daphne, AL. Our server Ashley was amazing! She was friendly and checked in with us a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed. The pretzel bites came out fast and were absolutely delicious. Their marinara and beer cheese sauce is sooo good. Twenty minutes after our appetizer, our pizza, calzones, and burger came out. I think we got our food so quickly because we came after the lunch rush around 2pm. The pizza and calzones were a hit. The burger was a little too plain and unseasoned for my son's taste, but he loved everything else. All in all a wonderful experience at this MM. Great vibe, too. TIP!! If you check in on Yelp you'll get a free pretzel app with a pizza purchase. I just happened to see the promo when I was getting ready to do my review when we were getting ready to check out. :) read more

I visited Mellow Mushroom on a Monday evening for carry out and ordered a thin crust pizza (my parents requested this). It was nice they were able to do three toppings on one side and a different set of toppings on the other. The price was $28 for this, which seemed a bit high (this is the price for a premium large pizza back in Washington). When I picked up, the food was ready to go, and the employee was very friendly. I asked about the Yelp check-in offer, but I was very disappointed it was not honored (free small salad with a check-in on the app). Yelp check-in offers benefit businesses by helping get more people in the door, and when a user checks in on Yelp, they are later prompted to write a review. I liked the pizza and toppings were tasty, but it definitely did not look like a thin crust. Perhaps a mistake? My parents ended up scraping toppings off the crust, so I felt bad about that. Wasn't a fan of the price, crust, or inability to honor the Yelp check-in offer, but the pizza was good and I went back for seconds. read more

I love going to Mello Mushroom because Gwen is a great bartender and is especially good with customer service, Dan M obviously must have been one of those people impossible to please and extremely rude because everyone else loves this bartender. read more

Finally got around to trying this place. Overall I was pretty impressed. The ingredients seemed fresh and quality, and you can build any type of pizza you want. There are so many options that anyone could find a combination that suited them. The Spinach salad we got had caramelized pecans, apples, cherries, feta, and a delicious vinaigrette. I thought the pizza was good, but I thought the sauce lacked a little pizzazz. Clean, nice dining area and really good service. read more

Mellow...what are you doing?! I have been coming to this location forever, sometimes several times a week, and absolutely love the food. However, the new "management" needs some attention. Who IS this Michael guy and where did he even come from? :-( We have always sat at the bar or one of the bar tables. The number one reason: GWEN! Not only is she the best bartender, she is also the best server in the restaurant. Trust me, we learned that the hard way. I am not saying there aren't other servers who are okay but they pale in comparison. Recently, we have been pretty disappointed when trying to get seated in Gwen's section. We have been told she no longer serves the tables in the area and once were told she wasn't working that night...when we could very clearly SEE her behind the bar. :-( Like I said, we have been coming here forever and have watched her wait on the entire bar (15 seats) and ALL of the surrounding tables (6) with no issues hundreds of times. There are people who come here just for her. The regulars, locals. Now we are being lied to about her working? We have left a few times, along with several others, because we couldn't be waited on by her EVEN THOUGH there were tables available in the bar area that was once her area. If anyone paid attention, they would notice how many people are in her section versus the rest of the restaurant at any given point. Why is this happening and why is it only happening during the week, yet not happening on the weekends when other people are working? Don't think people aren't noticing! Not only are they noticing but they are talking about it...A LOT. You might want to rethink the "new" structure because it isn't working, your locals aren't happy, and eventually we will all find somewhere that appreciates our patronage and loyalty. PS) Michael is RUDE and shouldn't be in charge of anything. read more

Have been there many times, and despite an occasional hiccup with servers (e.g., seeming to not like their job or us), the pizza is very good, as are all the items I've had from appetizers to salads. I also appreciate how family friendly the layout and servers are. When we take our 3 young grandkids, there is plenty of room for us to sit away from others who might be bothered, and the servers are always helpful and patient. read more

Hands down, best Mellow Mushroom in the area!! I've been going to this MM since 2014 and I've never had inconsistencies in the food that we order or service. My family and I ate her yesterday and we were blown away by the service. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive and hard working. Our order came out quickly and cooked perfectly. My daughters were bummed to find out the restaurant was being remodeled and they had removed the stone sphere in the front. The new mellow man in front is pretty cool though. read more

Always good. We eat here often. Great service and great pizza. Cloud 9 wings are expensive, but boy are they great!

One thing I can say about MM is everything is always cooked FRESH. I have never received a cold item, you literally have to wait for it to cool off. The pretzel bites and beer cheese are one dreamy appetizer. I just love the soft baked doughy balls of goodness dipped into that magical beer cheese. YUM! The RB margarita will get you all tingly and giddy. It's SO good. Not super sweet or fake tasting. They also now let you order half and half pies!! We tried two we have shamefully never had before. Half Maui Wowie and The Hey Dude. Well my little human was acting crazy so we got it to go. As soon as we got home I took a bite of both and loved both of them!! Spicy, flavorful, still warm... I wish Fairhope had a MM but we find ourselves in Spanish Fort pretty often and will be stopping by even more. Also, our waiter was super cool and nice. read more
