The food is really good here. Service is average. We arrived 530ish and ordered drinks first. Next we ordered the meatball romesco, the meatballs were moist and flavorful. I also ordered a caprese salad that was wonderful, full of flavor. Last we had the carne pizza, it was awesome, brick oven pizza and the right combination of ingredients is always a tasty treat. Buster's Brick Oven is the pizza side of Manci's Antique Club which is run like a separate business while it also physically connected to Manci's. The atmosphere at Buster's Brick Oven seems more upscale than the more dive bar ambiance of Manci's. They offer more than just pizza here but pizza seems to be the featured item. I sampled a Margherita pizza at Buster's Brick Oven and honestly it wasn't my favorite version of that particular pizza but it was alright. I also tried their Bison Burger which I ordered medium and it arrived with charred, burned and very crunchy meat on the outside but better on the inside with a side of charred and burned green beans... I will be sticking with the food on the Manci's Antique Club side! Ultimately the food on the Manci's side is far superior to me. The same folks that own Callaghan's Irish Social Club in Mobile have taken over Manci's and added the pizza addition of Buster's Brick Oven. Overall this is a great neighborhood spot which gives you the choice of the more "upscale" pizza side or the more classic dive bar side with different menus available in each. So far my experience with Buster's Brick Oven has convinced me to stick with the food at Manci's! read more

Came here on a Friday night with my family. Got a booth and ordered 3 small pizzas. I have a gluten intolerance so I ordered a gluten free pizza. It came out pretty quickly (like 20 minutes). We waited for my husbands and sons. Kept waiting. After we noticed tables who had come in after us eating dessert and paying. We stopped another waitress and asked her to check on our pizzas. Lo and behold our waitress (who never checked on us or the status of the pizzas) came to our table and said they would be out soon. Ummm no you never put in the order. She never did apologize and we ended up just paying for my pizza. My husband and son were so hungry we just went to chipotle. We really love their pizza here ! It's super delicious. We actually drive here from our home in Louisiana. It has live music on the weekends. One of the best brick oven restaurants around. Just one word....incredible! We went to Busters for the first time this past Saturday night and it's honestly one of the best meals we've ever eaten. We started off with the Fire Roasted Tomato Feta Dip and as soon as the first bit hit our mouths my wife and I just looked and each other shook our heads..simply fabulous. For our main entrees we had the white chicken pizza and the signature pepperoni pizza. Both were excellent but the pepperoni was really something special. The honey drizzle just makes it really pop. The service was super friendly and we could hear the live music from Mancini's next door. You could hear it clearly but still carry on a conversation, it was just right. Absolutely the best service by far!!! Kristen was delightful, the best personality, hospitable, funny, adorable, helpful, knowledgeable, attentive...can I say more? The bruschetta and spinach artichoke dip was delicious, the bread was a bit over seasoned but it didn't matter. We had the Margherita pizza and yummy!! The crust was the best I've had in awhile. My husband and I were going to a different restaurant and it was closed so we opted for this one and to our surprise, it has steak dishes and a variety of things besides pizza, and connected to them was Manci's and there you can have burgers, wraps, and various other things as well. Decided to eat at Buster's during Mardi Gras. The place was a zoo, and most restaurants have a limited menu, but they had many items to choose from on the menu. We ordered a large Pepperoni Pizza and I ordered the 16oz Ribeye. The pizza has a thin crust and REAL pepperoni - you know, the large diameter kind! Absolutely delicious. The ribeye was cooked to a nice medium rare, and seasoned fine. The service was more than acceptable. All in all a tremendous effort given the crowd size and pressure that much have been on the kitchen staff. Kudos!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

Busters has really good pizza! It's a little different if it's your first time there. You seat yourself and order from the bar on your own. Our pizza came out really fast and was amazing. The tuna was paired with pickled cucumber, grilled lemon half, and mild aioli sauce served On a wood slab. The pizza had filet mignon strips nice and tender with Gorgonzola and caramelized onions drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Thin crust slightly charred right out of the brick oven. The service was amazing and the owner/manager came out to see if we were satisfied with our dinner and helped the waitstaff with filling our drinks. Mediocre food and below sub-par service. Here's why I say that: I called to inquire about delivery and was hung up on. Full stop... I gave the person the benefit of the doubt so I called back. When she answered with her very distinct voice, I asked if she meant to hang up on me. She (Lyndsi M.) brazenly said they didn't deliver and paused. I asked if they wanted business...again radio silence. Why I made an order speaks to my crazy sense of curiosity. I'm a business owner myself and know that sometimes owners don't fully know what happens during a public facing experience. After my in-person interaction I cannot believe the owner of Buster's Brick Oven and their counterpart, Manci's is unaware of this server's horrendous service. That's not possible with they way she behaves behind the bar. I wholeheartedly do NOT recommend. I've never left a poor review but feel so strongly this is a place for you to pass by. Brown lettuce, soggy crust and fruit flies. No thanks. Pizza is ok at best. Not bad but not very promising when a brick oven pizza is soggy the second it hits the table. But the 1 star is (mostly) for the swarm of fruit flies that ran us out of the restaurant. First, the server brought my wine with a fruit fly on the glass. She said it was ok because it was on it, not in it. Not a big deal to me. Then, our salad came out with a lot of brown romaine. But we didn't eat much of it because it soon became inundated with dozens (yes, dozens) of fruit flies. It was so bad, we had to leave the salad at the table and move outside. Even a few flies managed to follow us outside to that table. Our server was aware of everything above and acknowledged the fruit fly problem that they've been trying to resolve, but didn't bother to even comp our little salad that we couldn't eat because of it. Geesh. Between the two of us we had two pizzas, a salad and four glasses of wine. Final bill was almost $100. It's just the principle of the matter. Since they are aware of the issue, they should minimally notify indoor dining guests of the problem before ordering. Would you tolerate fruit flies in your house, even for one day? With such an overwhelming number of tiny fruit flies swarming around this place, I can guarantee you are eating and drinking some. Not coming back here. Visited Busters for 1st time Friday night. The actual space is pretty small but very quaint. We ordered a salad and Margherita pizza both were very good. Obviously their pizzas are cooked in brick oven - so if you have kids plan on a bit of a wait. I now have three favorite pizza joints in town. This one is new and it's affiliated with Manci's (same building). I could describe as many different types of pizza as Bubba named shrimp dishes, but I'll spare you that and just say that if you like super thin and crispy pizzas cooked in a brick oven, you'll love this place! We ordered the formaggio trio, which came with smoked gouda, buffalo milk mozzarella and gorgonzola. I had them add chicken. There's no sauce, only olive oil, but red sauce or pesto are optional. Next time, I think I will add pesto. Our pizza was still extraordinarily good just as it was. The table next to ours ordered the meatballs appetizer and I'm kicking myself for not ordering them. They were huge, smothered in red sauce, sprinkled with parmesan, and looked amazing. The pizzas are small. Don't go in there expecting a giant NY pizza or Chicago deep dish. They're twelve inches and super thin, which was just the right size for my friend and me to share. A grown man could probably eat a whole pizza by himself. They're well priced for the size they are. I think we paid about $11 for our pizza. They have a small but well thought out selection of craft beers and a few domestics. We also each ordered a beer and those were about $5 each. Our total tab was about $22, before the tip. The place is tiny. For no reason that I'm aware of, I felt like I was walking into the old, Old Venice Pizza Company, which brought back great memories (from what I can remember). I gave one star because I couldn't give no stars. Came in on a Friday night with my husband and father in law. Yes, I know it's Friday, but it was starting to slow down during the time we came. We sat outside right in front of the main window with the Restaurant logo. One server went in and out of the main door a few times and we waved him down twice. The 2nd time when we asked how do we get served, he said " let me see what I can do, I got you" 10 minutes later..... nothing. No menus, no drinks, no nothing. No acknowledgement after a total wait time of at least 30 minutes. Meanwhile other people walked in and got served before us. We left and will not be back. We had heard about how good the food is, but we will never know now. If you are short staffed then maybe it's time to do something about it considering how busy it can be. If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would! Excellent service from start to finish. Food was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The brunch special was a garlic herb crusted lamb chop with roasted potatoes and a sunny side up egg. The European Board was amazing! The biscuit was the best I have ever had! My kids were having to spit mounds of cheese and burned pizza crust into their napkins because they couldn't chew it anymore. This was a tale of two meals. This is our 2nd time to BBO and they were two very distinct occasions. First time was top notch, great food and good service. This time was mixed quality food and poor service. Though she was friendly the bartender was not very attentive. As far as the food went, the Crostini and the Margherita pizza were excellent. The Carbonara pizza was pretty good, but very salty. My son was so excited to order the short rib raviolis because he loved them last time. When they arrived the sauce had separated and the raviolis fell apart and were inedible. We then were told they would remake it, but couldn't guarantee the next batch would be any better. My son then ordered the seared tuna which he also liked last time. Sadly it was fishy and extremely over salted and again inedible. When I asked for the check the bartender told us they had a new cook and another called out. She never offered to take off the bad tuna. I wanted to love it,I really did. But at the end of the day the fact that they just switched to their 3rd menu should be a good indicator. Pizza's are pricier then Todd English's Fig and the pizza can't compete with Vinnie'a next door(or maybe even Chuckee Cheese). There are no classic options, nor even a plane pepperoni. It obvious that this is searching for an identity. Unfortunately the pizza just doesn't cut it. I'd either turn it back into burger overflow or find a way to turn out more classic pizza. read more

We walked in last night when Vinny's had a 30 minute wait. There were plenty of tables as we stood at the front clueless if we are to seat ourselves or wait... finally a gentleman walked over and we asked if we could sit at the table right next to us and he said sure he would be right with us. Well we waited and a young lady came over to take our drink order. I told her we had a few more in our party we were waiting on as they were walking in the door and she walked away with half the drink orders. Waters and tea. When she finally came back a few in our party asked if they could have Manci's menus and she said sure. Mind you we had an 8 year old with us and the menu does not tailor to children at all. Not even a pepperoni pizza, but that's okay. It took forever to get all the drinks and I noticed she was pretty much the only person Working the bar and tables. Then a guy I had not seen sat three people at the table next to us and promised they would be taken care of. And they were. Their food came hot and drinks refreshed as needed. My tea sat empty for an hour and never was I even asked to if I wanted a refill. We ordered a kids grilled cheese from next door and 3 pizzas from Busters and a caprese salad. Not only did it take forever, the pizzas were barely warm, and the grilled cheese (that was supposed to be out well before the pizzas told by our waitress) was the LAST to arrive to our table.
