We just attended a get-together with the Facebook group "Baldwin County Foodies" and were impressed with this quaint locally owned and operated business, full name "Le Bouchon Wine and Tapas Bar". It's in the "downtown" section of Daphne, which is pretty small but easy to find. It's parallel to Hwy 98 on scenic 98. Speaking of small, there are a couple of comfy seating areas, with couches and chairs, high-top tables, and a small bar. Upon entering we noticed the shotgun shake elongated space but it's very laid back and intimate with a nice atmosphere and vibe. Despite the limited space, they had a dude playing guitar and singing by the front door, nice and mellow too. There's a respectable choice of wines, but not overdone like some of the more pretentious places plus they have several craft beers, beers on tap and sparkling fizzy choices. Good news, if you're not a connoisseur you can also sample some of the wines, nice touch. We were greeted by Jessica, she rocked, and she guided us through the specials and all about the wines and foods. She took excellent care of us throughout the visits and made it a joy. While they had a bbq chicken slider being made that was not on the menu, and it sounded good, we got a flatbread pizza and the roasted red pepper hummus with pita bread and veggies. Both were outstanding, fresh, and a very good pairing for my sweetheart's wine and the stout beer that I chose. However, I regretted not getting their huge and inviting-looking charcuterie board, it's loaded full of different cheeses, olives, meats, and more, next time for sure. I got to meet quite a few people from our group, everyone seemed to enjoy their choices of food and libations so I feel pretty good that everyone enjoyed themselves and I look forward to doing it again real soon! Passing through from out of town. We decided to spend the night in Daphne, and after some research we ultimately decided Le Bouchon was the perfect place for a date night following a long drive from Houston, TX. My fiancée and I shared a bottle of wine along with a few tapas. We engaged in great conversation with the staff and felt so welcomed. My only regret is us having to leave so soon. I highly recommend Le Bouchon if you are looking for a place with great wine, great conversation, and great food. I can't thank the staff enough for making us out-of-towners feeling so welcome. I went with a friend to Le Bouchon after attending an afternoon concert. They have a great selection of wine. The waitress brought us a cucumber mint infused glass of water before taking our order. I had a glass of the Electra red moscato and my friend had a glass of Chardonnay. There is a menu of sandwiches and appetizers. I'll try one of these the next time. Ok...shoot me. Le Bouchon has been open almost 4 years and is only a couple of miles from our house, and w eff hadn't yet been there. 4 years of not enjoying this fantastic establishment. My wife and I went there tonight as a "date night". We had heard good things about it and they had live jazz tonight. Glad we made that decision. The service was/is exquisite. Our server was extremely knowledgeable of the food and wine menus. They have a nice selection of wines, varied but not overwhelming. The food selections are "small plate" items. So, I'm kinda in love with this little place...and I don't really even drink wine that much. I came here with a good friend who is more of a wine connoisseur and she is head over heels in love with the place! This little wine bar is truly an asset to downtown Daphne. We walked in the door on the back of the building, which is where the parking lot is located, and grabbed a little table by the bar and admired the comfy seating over by the front door. The ambiance of the place is just so charming you're relaxed even before they bring out the wine. They have a copious selection of wines on the menu, as well as a few beers, which was nice. There was a wine on the menu called Duck Tape Chardonnay, which of course I had to sample because, hey, it's Duck Tape wine. I like that they will allow you a sample and you don't have to invest in a full glass of something you haven't tried. We both settled on a glass of sparkling wine. We perused the tapas menu and decided on a cheese board. Again, it didn't disappoint. The owners were warm and welcoming. Our server was exceptional. Great selection, good atmosphere. One negative about this place. They add Gratuity to your check. And that is all perfectly fine. But when leaving the restaurant the management stopped me and asked why I did not leave a tip and that I should have. I'm sorry but if the Gratuity is already added to the tip then apparently that is the amount they expect you to tip. I agree that there are times that I might tip more than what is listed as Gratuity. If they leave the Gratuity off the check then they may get more from me. If Gratuity is added then that is what they get. read more

First, I need to admit that I don't know a ton about wine other than malbec is my preferred adult grape juice. That being said, the menu only had one malbec to offer. I'm not sure if the wine selection changes regularly, so maybe there are other options in the future/on other nights. The first time I went here, they highlighted some specials, but during my second visit there weren't any so my decision was pretty much made for me to stick to the sole malbec. The wine was good, though went for $9 a glass. The sauvignon blanc the lady had was $7 so seemed closer to what I've seen at other places (again I'm not a wine enthusiast). There were specials on food, but we stuck with a regular option, the shrimp dip. Pretty good with actual full shrimp in included, but like other users stated, the portions are fairly small. You can purchase a variety of wines here though I didn't browse much expect when killing time waiting for the single bathroom to open up. I have no idea if prices are competitive so once again, I'm not the right guy to comment. Overall, a cozy atmosphere and our waitress was very attentive. If you haven't yet discovered this place, you need to try it. It is a very cozy place with wonderful ambiance. The fare is wine, craft beer and tapas. The hors d'oeuvres or tapas are extremely good. I consider them chef quality. Our table of four tried a cheese tray with cheeses locally made that included grapes, strawberries, 5 different cheeses and crackers and breads. The 2nd sampler was a fantastic brioche, topped with tomato and cheeses. The 3rd sampler blew me away! 3 barbecued chicken sliders topped with a coke slaw and a habanero reduction. Even the water served in addition to wine or beer is infused with fruits and cucumber. The service was professional yet warm and friendly, even the owners came by to check on us. There was a really good guitarist playing softly in the background. This was our 4th visit and certainly not our last. Updated review 6-27-2017: Wow! Competition can be good! There is another wine and food bar soon to be opened in Daphne, AL near Manci's. And Le Bouchon is kicking it up another notch! A group of 4 of us went last night and they had all their regular Tapa's plus a special menu with 5 more added. As an example here are just two of the five special Tapa's on last nights special menu: Smoked Salmon on toast points and charcuterie (what a hard word to remember) it is the French appetizer course featuring a platter of cooked and dry-cured meats, sausages and smooth pâtés accompanied by crusty baguettes, pungent mustards, enticing cornichons, pickles and other savory morsels. The kicker was it was a French wine tasting night and for $12 per person you got 6 different wines, these were not little taste snifters either, they were just about full glasses times six! I do not drink and was the designated driver and it's a good thing! I'm sure Uber was called by some patrons to get home last night! The place has great lighting comfortable seating and the walls look like leather. Great selection of both red and White, you can order by the glass or by the bottle. I've debated writing this review for almost 4 months now. My husband and I came here in November, looking forward to a cute new little wine and tapas spot close to where we live. We were actually one of the first parties to arrive, and at first started out at a small high table in the back. The gentleman (an owner I believe) was very welcoming, as well as the server. Both made us feel right at home and answered any questions we had. We liked their selection of glass and bottle options, and because it was early and we were walking home, we decided to move up front to two comfy larger chairs set beside a loveseat around a coffee table and order a bottle. We decided to get their board of cheeses etc, and shortly after was when a few more parties arrived. Also around this time was when a blonde curly haired woman arrived who I assumed was the other owner/ wife. Everyone was seemingly happy with where they were sitting, and we would've had no problem sharing the coffee table if the bar had filled up, but here is where our experience turned the corner. All of a sudden she came and asked us how we were, and we both started to reply to her, and mid reply she turned her head and walked away. I have never felt more unwelcome in a place. I was honestly livid. She and the server had come and asked us if we were done with our board, and we weren't done yet, we each still had about a glass of wine to drink, and I felt extremely rushed and unwelcome. We got our bill, (which was around 100$) paid, and left. It's a shame what a bad taste we both got from this exchange. We are very kind and easy going people and had she come up to us and asked if we would mind moving to another table because they had a larger party that wanted to sit where we were we would've gladly obliged. But the way she interacted with us was extremely off-putting. I'm sad to say that I probably won't be back. read more
