From the moment we walked in she obviously didn't want to help us (told us she was two weeks out and I said okay and then she continued to say she was so busy and two weeks out) but begrudgingly proceeded anyway, couldn't alter one of my garments and then when I asked why there was a price difference between two pairs of pants she explained one was wider leg and therefore an additional 4 dollars. I agreed to the price and then she told me to next time find a new shop..it was obviously personal, as two other women came in and she treated them very professionally. read more

I have never had an issue here before I have taken ALL of my dresses for homecoming and prom here always were nothing less than perfect. Until today. My little sister goes to pick up her dress and it looks like a child just took the strap and pinned it up it looks horrible, and not only that does not fit the way it needs too. It bulges out due to the strap just being balled up and pinned. On top of that there is now a mysterious stain on the dress that I know was not there when she received the dress. definitely not worth the money we paid for the alteration. I've been to this place several times to bring in stuff that needed minor repairs. The place is usually busy whenever I stop in and there's always customers in the store but on this last trip, there was no one there. I had a skirt and a pair of pants that needed some very minor seam repair done and the owner quoted me a very reasonable price of $10 and offered to fix it while I waited! She was done with the repairs in no time and had them hanging on nice hangers instead of the rickety ones I brought in. The stuff that I've dropped off in the past was always ready when promised and at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place if you live in the Rockwall area. read more

I am not one to leave reviews but I think people deserve to know what my experience was like. I Took my wedding dress here to be altered. It was a flowy crop top and skirt. She took in the crop top because it was real boxy. Where she had pinned it it looked great. When I came back to try it on after the tailoring my boobs were half way out of the slip. The top is see through so you can see through to where my boobs hang out. And it was also crooked. I wish I could upload the picture but it wouldn't be appropriate. If I raised my arms in the slightest my boobs hang out of the whole top. It is horrible. Will not be coming back. read more

Im not saying the experience was terrible because it was not. But if I am paying for my pants to be tailored I expect it to be done right. I was sloppy, I mean really sloppy. I do not recommend this place for bridal gown alterations. The price for the work was rediculously high along with the finger prick blood stains. I also didn't get my dress back for TWO months after the promised date and when i went in to pick it up she had lost my ticket so i had to look through other people's things to find mine. Just absolutely terrible. Not pleased whatsoever. I would expect more professionalism especially on a wedding gown and its importance. read more

I used to come to this place all the time when Janie was still the owner and she was great. I recently took my wedding dress in to be altered here with the new management and the experience was terrible. I needed to have my dress taken in and I wanted to have a bustle added to it. She kept telling me that she would not be able to bustle the dress because of the layers at the bottom when I had seen the same dress bustled before. After that I decided it would be ok to just add a finger loop to hold the dress up since she could not bustle it, but she didn't know how to do this either. These are very basic things that a tailor should be able to do to a dress. I ended up taking the dress to another tailor who bustled the dress and completed the alterations in 1 day.I would not recommend using this lady for any tailoring needs. read more

Janie was entrusted with alterations on a wedding gown. The price was over $450, which seemed high but we wanted to make sure it was done right. Janie didn't have it ready for a fitting two weeks before the wedding date which was planned and gave her 6 weeks to do the alterations. I don't think she even started the alterations until a week before the wedding, after several phone calls (messages) and one in person visit. The gown was ready for a fitting TWO days before the wedding and it was wrong, bustle was bulky, seems and threads showed...it was awful. Ended up having the bustle removed and that left hole's in the overlay, when asked for a partial refund (as this wasn't a $450 result) Janie screamed and us and told us to get out of her store. She said the issues with the dress were our fault because we didn't give her enough time to do the alteration's had TWO MONTHS. Janie will never get any further business from us, do not use her as she is a disorganized emotional wreck. I have never been screamed at like that in my life, and we were the ones who should have been upset!!! She blamed the delay on a sprained hand, if that was the case she should have said in one of the many calls we made to her that she couldn't work on the dress because of a sprained hand and we would have found someone else ,but she never mentioned anything until the screaming she did as she rushed us out the door. DO NOT USE JANIE!! Gave her one star because it wouldn't allow no stars. read more
