I have been going to Jane's Nails for Years & Years. I have always thought the Owners to be completely Indifferent with No Personality at all. The Staff dresses atrociously..... Tattoos & tight tops, usually low cut and in poor taste. Each time I sit for a Pedicure; the tub is dirty and i sit there while they spray a dab of bleach & Swish it around a few times. It should be CLEAN when I sit down. The Garbage cans are filthy & they refill the lotion bottles with no name brands. The little dishes that we soak our hands in were stacked on the shelf without being washed or sanitized. They make a lot of money there & there is no reason it should be run so poorly with NO attention to detail I am looking for a NEW Place that is clean and appreciates my hard earned money. read more

Don't bother. Terrible job at acrylic nails. The lengths are all different as well as the shapes of the nails. They are digging into my nails so much that it's painful and they are SO thick. Biggest waste of time and money I just want them off and I literally just got them. read more

Been going to Janes since it opened, and always ask for an appointment with the same person. She was off yesterday, so I made an appointment but without specifying which tech. The manicure lasted less than 15 minutes. At the end, there was visible dirt under one nail, and polish on my fingers. On the way out, I complained to the owner, whose response was a shrug. I'm shaking my head in wonder- maybe the women walk out with pretty nails - however this place does NOT use clean sanitized tools. I walked in today and specifically asked if they use new/sanitized tools. The polite women said yes. Apparently she does not understand. I sit down, she did bring a new file, then the nail tech walks over with the dirty plastic basket with used pumice/brick - I politely asked for new once again and she said no, just file. I walked. This place is the nicest nail salon in the area. There is never a wait, the girls who work here are friendly and professional. MUCH better than Madison Hill that makes you wait even when no one is there. You can't beat the $25 mani/pedi deal on MTW. Some other reviewer said cash only. that is not true. I've paid with credit card every time. Others have complained about the wait. Don't go at 3pm - that's prime mommy and me time over there. If you wait until 5 the place is EMPTY. Also as for being closed on Sundays...they are open every other day of the week and if you're a regular you know the same people work almost every day - so they deserve a break! read more

Love this place. It's usually packed but so much better than everything else in the area, so totally worth the wait.

I've been here about 4 times now. They do sanitize and the place is very clean....the price is okay it's not inexpensive but it's not super expensive. A manicure is $10 and a pedicure is $25. I trusted them enough to do my eyebrows and they did a good job. I'm satisfied with my experiences maybe next time I'll splurge and get myself a spa pedicure to see if it is really any different. They do take appointments and I will say I've not had to wait more than 10 minutes for a chair. Jane's nail is a finely tuned machine and they will get you in and out asap! read more

The worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. I am pregnant and decided to try SNS nails for the first time - the color was applied, but it looked off to me. Not knowing the process, I asked the technician if the color seemed right and she assured me it was and would lighten. Long story short, I was supposed to get ballet pink (light pink) and ended up with a gross shade of pumpkin orange. I was pressed for time and had my daughter with me and said I'd need to come back to have them redone. They charged me $90 and when I expressed that I didn't think I should be charged until I actually had the correct color on my nails, the tech rolled her eyes at me and the owner refused to let me leave. It was beyond obnoxious - not to mention the only way to remove the color is to use a grinder. NEVVVVER going back. Terrible customer service and severe language barriers! UGH read more

I have given this place more than one try in my search for a good nail salon in Madison. Everytime I go in, it is super busy and I've had to wait at least a half hour. Even with an appointment, I've had to wait and they rush you in and out with barely any massage time on a manicure or pedicure. Part of the reason I go is to enjoy myself and relax. I figured getting an eyebrow wax would be easy enough for them to handle and I wound up going to my sister's baby shower the next day with scabs around my eyes because they burned me! I also feel like they all have very stuffy, judgmental attitudes. I will not be going back there again! read more

My sister and I were both given a $65 gift certificate each to Janes Nails as a gift. When we went to use them they would not accept them because they said they didn't have an authorized signature on them. They said when they give out gift cards the manager signs them. The manager had given the gift card to the person who gifted them to us without signing it. A mistake on their part. They accused us in front of the whole salon of scamming them. They shamed us and made us sit to the side of the room and insisted the person who gifted it to us come and show their face and if they recognized/trusted her then they would accept the gift certificates. Luckily, they did recognize her as she is a regular customer there but what if she wasn't a customer of theirs and just bought gift cards from there or they didn't recognize her? They did not compensate us for the humiliation. This was a disgrace and even with my remaining gift certificate balance I will never go back here. read more

Expensive in general but they are very service oriented. The salon is beautiful with a large section of pedicure massage chairs. They have a great selection of regular and gel polish colors. I have been to quite a few other nail salons in the area and I have never had any issues with Jane's, I just wish their pedicures had a little more of a massage quality to it and that they were open on Sundays/later than 6:30. read more

Jane's Nails has been my go-to nail salon ever since I moved to Madison about 3 years ago. I loved how I could get in and out quickly, I thought their prices were fair and I THOUGHT it was a clean salon. However, after my last visit I will not be returning again. 2 days ago, I visited the salon and got just a pedicure. It was all fine and normal, until I thought maybe the technician was being a little rough when it came time do push back the cuticle. I didn't see any cut initially. By that same night, my big toe was really red, swollen and sore. Very long story short, and I will leave out the gross details, I went to my doctor today and it turns out that my toe is infected and I am currently on an antibiotic for the next 5 days with orders to come back immediately if it does not seem to be getting better. I need to add though that I did go back to the salon and got a refund for the pedicure, thankfully, but I am furious that this salon clearly does not properly sterilize their utensils. This could have potentially been a very serious situation, and I am not even in the clear yet. I am sad to say that everyone should be very, very wary of this salon. read more

$20 pedicure is decent for the price but it depends on who you get...sometimes they rush through but I still feel for the price this is a good deal. The manicures are the worst! I paid $35 for a gel manicure that lasted 2 days (supposed to last 2 weeks) she did not even do my cuticles and barely a massage she just slapped the paint on...I could have don this myself. PS it took 15 minutes at the most for that 35$ nail polish job. NO MORE MANICURES AT JANES. I will continue to go for the pedicure until I find someplace else. read more

It is NOT cash only. They take Credit cards and debit, but you cannot add tip to the charge. They have an ATM on premises. But otherwise, it is great. You can make an appointment on your way over and have a seat ready by the time you pick out a color. I only go to Jennifer because she is THE BEST. They all speak english, but have accents, so it is rather easy to understand them. Best pedicures ever. They know their customers and give out great gifts around the holidays or your birthday... usually for a free pedicure with any other purchase. I have been coming here for YEARS... 8 maybe? I used to get gels and always went to the same person. First, the woman I loved left, then I found a man who was great and he left, finally I went gel free and stopped making appointments, as the wait fro walk-ins is never too long. The last 3 times I have gone, I have had TERRIBLE manicures. 2 of those were regular manicures, and 1 was a color gel manicure. When I got the color gels, the woman forgot (?) to go over one hand with nail polish remover so each nails was sticky and bumpy looking. Today, the manicure lasted all of 15 minutes. The 15 minutes included me pointing out several nails where she had painted over cotton fuzz leaving a bumpy surface, and the woman needing to go back and re-polish. After the 15 minutes, a few nails still have rough edges and there is paint on almost every finger. My mother was sitting next to me and since she opted for a translucent pink, it was easy to see that her nails had not even been thoroughly cleaned. The pedicurists (never had a problem here) told us that we should inform the owner (Jane's husband, I think) on our way out. He asked if we would like to "try again." Without time for that, he closed his eyes and shrugged, which I took to mean "eh, we don't really need your business." Well, I don't need to drive 20 minutes to get a crappy manicure either, so I will be seeking out other salons; I recommend you do the same. read more

I got a gel manicure, paid $35 ($10 more than at competing nail salons in town), and expected that price difference to also accompany a quality difference, and that my gel manicure would last at minimum 2 weeks Instead, what I got a was a gel manicure that chipped after 1 WEEK! I had a mani/pedi there last week. I got shellac on my fingernails. The paint job was terrible and the shellac started coming off on Monday (5 days after application). I was unhappy with the paint job as soon as I got into the car to leave. I did not complain, but the nail tech should have known that the job she did was less than mediocre. DO NOT BOTHER. I've gotten gel manicures for years and have never been disappointed up until this point. Two days after my manicure the gel started to peel off. I went back to have my nails fixed, free of charge, and here we are a week later and I'm ready to have my nails redone. The gel is as thin as regular nail polish which defeats the purpose. My gel manicures prior to coming here last a minimum of two weeks with no chipping. And 45$ for a French gel manicure is ABSURD. Never going back. I adore this place. I was so glad when I found it a few years ago ... the girls are all very good (maybe except for a few who have accidentally injured me :)) (but that happens!) They are always quick to get you in even though the place is always packed. And every service there rocks -- great massage chairs and pedicures. Great manis. Love the chair massage and the table massage (which I didn't know about) is excellent! The woman who does the table massages has a really cool style and it's worth every penny. read more

I have been here 4 times so far and it is pretty good. Very pretty space, very clean. Average price for the area and they have enough stations to keep things moving. But I suggest always having a reservation as it is very busy. Last time i was there I brought my own polish with me and something was wrong with the polish it was drying bumpy and strange. I said I would live with it as I had brought it, it was my fault and it was xmas eve I didn't want anyone staying late for me and they were very busy. They picked out new colors for me and repainted my toes while I got my nails done and made sure I was happy with it before Ieft. They did not charge me extra for anything. They just wanted to make sure I was happy and looked nice for the holiday. I was extremely appreciative to them. I always tell my gf's if you want good service in a nail salon, become a regular. They notice and appreciate it. Also they gave a free pedicure and a calendar to their regulars for xmas. read more
