Awesome locally Madison based nail salon :) They remember their customers and have always provided excellent manicure-pedicures for my friends and I during my college days of which I just graduated in May of this past year. I recently returned to the area to head back to Rose City Nails today (Wednesday)!which is when they run their (Monday-Wednesday - 25/mani-pedi special.) I splurged today and got a great gel mani on my hands because they are dry instantly. Love my color which is perfect for the holidays. A Gel Manicure and reg. Pedi for $50 is quite the best deal in the Madison area. You also can help yourself to the full of sweets in their candy bowl at the drying station, which has lots of lollipops, twizzlers, and other goodies! read more

I wanted to like this place. They are not really great with application of SNS. Inatwas of soaking my nails like most places they used a drill. The lady working on removing my last sns cut took a chunk of my cuticles off. The last doing my toes got polish all over my skin and partially painted some nails. The people working have all the rights to speak Spanish to each other, but it's unprofessional to talk about the overbearing women boss or how the male boss wont do anything. Last time I checked you work for those people. And stop rushing and half assing services just because you have to do a kids manicure. My nails have not lasted a whole week. I spent over $100. Never again will I ever come here nor would I recommend anyone waste their money. Clearly whatever new management they have is not working. Fire the workers you have and go look for better talent, because there are so many deserving nail techs out there. And people are willing to pay those people over $200 just for manicures. If I could give my experience less than one star, I would. I made an appointment to have tips put on. The technician told me UV gel extensions would be so much better. When I went to pay she charged me $100 for my nails (another $35 for my pedicure). There are no prices posted and no menus with services anywhere in the salon. I paid, but told her that was atrocious. Within 3 days, one extension popped off and two others cracked. I have never had such an awful experience ever with a nail salon ever. I am new to NJ and will never book an appointment anywhere ever without getting a firm price for services. Stay away. read more

Since I moved to the area about a year ago I have been looking for a nail place that I would be willing to return to and I hadn't found one, until I found Rose City this past Sunday on Yelp. The 10am opening time and reasonable prices are what drew me in and the clean and calming facility is what got me to stay. I walked in around 11am on Sunday and the technician at the front of the salon said it would be about a 25 minute wait for a pedicure, I walked to get a coffee next door and I was sitting in a massage chair by 11:30. The male technician did my pedicure, he was very meticulous and the leg massage was excellent. I have obviously been to quite a few nail salons in my life but this pedicure was one of the best that I have received. The polish I picked out was a little thin but he made sure to continue laying on the coats until it looked as it should. The pedicure took about an hour and ended with a mini shoulder massage at the drying station. Total cost was $20 and I ate probably four lollipops as I waited for my nails to dry. Not a bad way to start a Football Sunday. read more

Wow, what a truly awful place. I went here on a super rainy day because I needed one nail fixed. I walked in and there was one customer and 3 people working. I explained I needed a nail fixed and the person not working walked away. The other person called after her and the woman from the back said, "who is it?" The woman working replied, "I don't know her" and the response was, "send her away, I don't feel like doing it." I asked how long until someone could help me and the response was that no one would help me and I would need to go somewhere else. I had the best experience in this salon. I decided to get UV gel extensions after much deliberation. I researched every salon in Madison and the surrounding areas. The reviews for Rose City Nails were excellent so I decided to give them a try. I made an appointment only 90 minutes ahead of time and they were able to get me right in. Jean was great! She took a lot of time choosing the right tips and explaining the process to me. I have very delicate skin and when she nicked me while filing, she immediately changed tools and took very good care to be aware of my sensitive skin. I was not bothered as I am used to this condition. It meant my appointment went longer than expected, but she was great and so cautious. I had a pedicure and a great neck and shoulder rub. I've been coming to RoseCity Nails since moving to Madison 10 years ago. Jean, Tony, Claudia and Ann are all lovely and so dedicated to doing a great job. I typically call ahead to confirm they can take me right away, which eliminates some of the angst of waiting in line if they're busy. I like to get extra massage time with my pedicure - always worth the $. Rose City Nails is calm and relaxing - no polish fumes and doesn't feel like a factory the way many others do. Parking is never an issue in the parking lot behind Main Street, and they have a back entrance for easy access to the lot. read more

It was a nice salon with seemingly nice people. I got a regular pedicure and although the lady took her time she never cut my cuticles! I didn't realize it since I was chatting it up with my M.I.L. Literally the absolute worst nail experience of my life. I walked in around 4:15 and asked if it was possible to get a mani/pedi. No one really answered me and one manicurist shrugged and smiled so I asked again and was told yes. I waited about ten minutes before getting to the spa chair which was no problem. The color selection was trash. The water was tepid but I sat anyway. Thirty minutes passed before anyone even began to attend to me only to tell me the polish I picked was actually gel which would be an addiction so $25 dollars but she offered to bring me similar colors. The colors she brought back were not close at all (I had chosen a baby blue and she selected three muddy green colors.) I had to then get out of the chair in my soaking wet feet, put my own shoes back on and chose an entirely new color because they didn't offer any light blue color without gel. The pedicure was the worst pedicure I've ever received and did not make any difference. Finally around 530 I got to the manicure. After asking for only a file and I cut my nails were cut anyway and shorted past the top of my finger. By six o'clock I reached the dryer. One of my nails chipped in the moving process and the manicurist couldn't remember which color was used and I now have a two tone thumb nail. She still couldn't find the polish that was just used so by 615?8 finally just left. I will never be returning again and I will be actively making sure my friends and family do not make the same mistake. read more

Super skimpy with the nail polish. I got a light pink and it looks like a clear coat, plus it's super streaky and she missed the side of the nail. The nail fan is on a timer and I couldn't figure out how to turn it back on, so I just left. Not going back. read more

Very clean, very professional for sure. Walked in, was immediately greeted and asked what I wanted, told to pick my color and within minutes I was in a sweet massage chair with my tech ready for my pedicure. I opted for an extra 10 minute leg massage and it was SO worth it!! I had the man in the salon (don't know his name) and his leg massage was great and my toes look fabulous! I went to this nail salon for the first time this weekend and I loved it! The place was very clean, the music was relaxing and the employees were very professional. My ONLY recommendation is that they carry more of a selection for gel polish. They have a Shellac & Essie brands only, and maybe 4 bottles of OPI total. I generally only use OPI gel (other brands either don't last very long or mess up my nail one way or another), and just wished they had that at Rose City. Poor quality I went to get a gel manicure. I have been getting gel manicures for the last year and they usually last 2 weeks because I get annoyed when they start to grow out. Their website listed gel manicures for $18 which was a great deal so I was excited. When I checked out, the man who seemed to be the owner or manager charged me $30. At the time I didn't say anything and figured it was my error. This gel lasted 3 days. When I called they said I could come in for a touch up. 2 nails had completely come off and 3 others were beginning to peel. The tech insisted on only fixing the two that came off and that the other could just be filed down. When I explained that this was very odd to me that they only lasted 3 days she told me that I picked a bad color and my nails were thin. What? It's your color, on your shelf how was I suppose to know it was bad? And I have been getting gels for years whether my nails are thin or not it should not wash off when I shower. Thankfully she didn't charge me for the touch up but I was still thinking about the price I paid. While I was there I looked it up again on my phone and it said $18. I asked my tech and she told me that the site was wrong and not updated. Seriously it's over a $10 difference. Note to self never come here again. Don't waste your time or money. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I was disappointed on the job each technician did cleaning my nails. The gel manicure was the more pathetic of the two. I got hangnails within the day and under the nail was not cleaned well. The gel polish was put on and then left in the UV for no measured time amount, just constantly in. The technician only put two color coats on which caused irregular color. Additionally there were bumps on one nail and when I pointed it out she just put the next layer on. I was shocked that the whole operation just seemed lazy. read more
