I liked the salon a lot. It was super relaxing and my pedicure came out great. However I was very disappointed with my SNS nails. After just 24 hours the top coat is peeling. I just went to the salon yesterday and was extremely disappointed. I had a gel foundation with nail polish (which I paid extra for because it is supposed to last a long time and healthy for your nails). Within a few hours of coming home the entire nail polish lifted and fell off!! I went back to speak with the manager to ask for a refund for the service. I drove 1/2 hour one way and I had to wait over 45 minutes from when I arrived to finally speak with the manager. She told me they would refund me for the polish but not the manicure because it was already done before they did the polish. Let me remind you they did the manicure...I did not have it somewhere else!! Isn't the entire process from preparing the nails to the polish one treatment??? I think I should have not only been reimbursed for the entire service, but made to feel like they were very sorry. Instead, I walked out knowing I would never go back nor will I recommend this salon!! What every happened to making the customer number #1 and accommodating them as this was not my fault but the salons. Isn't the way you treat a customer good customer service. I had a pedicure and dip manicure while visiting from out of state. Golden Flower was a great experience. Both Ana and Joselina gave me excellent service. This place is over-priced, dishonest, and does shoddy work. My daughter went with a friend and was concerned about the price, so she kept asking how each step cost. They gave her the price for a regular gel, but charged for the hard gel, told her a design was an extra five dollars, but did not tell her that was per nail. The "design" was a sloppy sweep of white across blue, not at all like the picture she showed them. On both the mani and the pedi the polish slopped over onto the cuticle or stopped noticeably short of the cuticle. Polish was rough in some places. Just an awful job and experience all the way around. And it took them two hours. They took advantage of her of a young college student to make an extra buck. I will be reporting them to the State Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. read more

I have been a patron of the Golden Flower Nail Spa, coming in monthly for the past six years, getting a full-service pedicure with callus removal, (Green Tea or Mint on their menu), that takes approximately one hour. My wife really appreciates the results of my rejuvenated soft feet and she is also a regular client. While Golden Flower's prices for their services are a bit higher than many neighborhood nail salons, I believe that you get what you pay for. I always call in advance to inquire if my desired arrival time is possible with their current appointment schedule and make sure to give myself adequate time to find a parking space in crowded downtown Summit. The attractively clean and bright interior ambiance of the salon, along with the comfortable adjustable massage chairs, provide an ideal tranquil, relaxing, spa-like atmosphere, several notches above most nail salons. The proprietor Stephanie runs a tight shop with her hard-working female staff having always provided me with consistently excellent treatments, focusing on their work, not rushing and giving me soothing foot/lower leg massages as part of the treatment. I am pleased to say that the quality of service provided by the young women has always been top notch and therefore, I can and do highly recommend Golden Flower Nail Spa for those men and women looking for this type of pedicure. My only criticism is one not directed towards the Salon, but to some of the few rude women who, on occasion, feel entitled to carry on loud verbal conversations on their cell phones, annoying other patrons, despite clear signage in the salon that states no cell phone conversations. The owner demanded we pay nothing less than 20% tip. We paid 16.7% tip and the owner asked us to use the ATM to pay the additional tip. The nail polish started coming off the same day. Manicure was just ok..not worth it. Was done in 5 min or so and no massage. I honestly haven't had such a great experience at the nail salon, CORRECTION NAIL SPA! The emphasize on the Spa!!! You truly leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. The spa has so many options as far as massages, special pedicures, as well as manicures. The Golden Flower also knocks their competitors out the park is the standard of cleanliness! they believe in one time use of their instruments and this I've seen with my own eyes! Another huge perk is their selection of nail polish! it ranges from OPI, ESSIE, to Couture such as Dior!! Some would argue that, that doesn't matter but I would beg to differ as I had a pedicure that not only lasted but looked amazing after a month! The price is reasonable considering all they had to offer the pedicure is 30 dollars with an additional five dollar up charge for the couture polish! I give this place 5 STARS!!! read more

Clean and quiet space, manicurists are very nice. That being said the owner/manager lacks any customer service skills. I had a gel manicure that was applied incorectly that left it think and a little bumpy on certain a few of my nails. When I brought it to the attention of the owner/manager she told me "that is the way gel is". Golden Flower is not an inexpensive salon. If your expectation is that clients should pay a premium for services the services should meet the expectation those prices set. This place is wonderful but VERY expensive. Each of the three times I've gone, my plain polish manicures were beautiful and long-lasting, but I wouldn't say they were worth $30. They don't do much extra to make up for their prices, when most other shops in town are charging $15-$18 for the same service. OPI is the only polish they have right now that doesn't cost extra, so if you like brand options you might have trouble. Also, they aren't clear whether or not tip is included in prices...might be worth it to ask. I'll still go back because of how well they work with natural nails. read more

I've gone twice now for a dip powder manicure, and I couldn't be happier. Joselin is extremely thorough and has given me the best manicures I've ever had both times. Manicures never last for me, but I went 4.5 weeks in between. They didn't chip or peel at all! Also I love the overall relaxing atmosphere of the salon. CAUTION: Golden Flower Nails in Summit I'd like to give a heads up to those who patronize Golden Flower Nail Spa on Union Place. I believe they purposely don't post their pricing in the salon so that they can extort patrons. My daughter went there several weeks ago and they charged her $70 for a service. Last week they charged her $95 plus a $15 tip for the exact same service. When she questioned them, the manager (Stephanie?) admonished her in front of other customers. I called the next morning and asked to speak to the manager. The receptionist told me there was no manager or owner there; I asked when I could speak to one of them or if she could forward my call. She didn't know and refused to pass my message on then hung up on me. So I went to the salon in person minutes later. The receptionist said they don't have printed prices and told me to look on the website. I asked why prices aren't posted. She went to get the manager (who was not there according to her when I phoned a few minutes earlier). The 'manager' Stephanie came out, said they had prices and pulled out a sheet of paper from behind a COVID sign on the front desk. I asked to see it and she would not let me. I again asked why prices aren't posted like they are in every other salon? I asked why she charged two different prices for the same service. She lied saying the services were different so she charged more. I showed her the two photographs of the job my daughter had received; there was no difference. I asked her to refund the money she stole from my daughter. She refused. I made a report about price gouging and extortion of customers to the local police. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I posted a review on the local Facebook group and two others said similar thing happened to them. Stay away from this place. read more

Such a bad experience. I came in at 3o'clock for a manicure and pedicure, they did not take me until 345, and told me to hurry up and pick a color. I chose a pale pink as I am going to a wedding, and then I sat in the pedicure chair for another 15 minutes. When the girl came over, I told her I was really in a hurry and would be fine with just a polish change on both, she assured me it was no problem and pointed to another girl who was going to start my nails. At 4:30 I looked down I noticed she had painted my toes green, I guessed and ask her to please fix it. At the same time someone came over and told me they are too busy for me and cannot do my nails. I barely walked out with all 10 toes painted pink, no massage no lotion, and they charged me $70. This is not how you treat people. Outrageous prices, it's 4:58 and I wasted two hours of my day sitting around being told just a minute. This was a total waste of time and money, I will never go back. read more

I came by with my gf around xmas when she told me she was waiting to try this new expensive nail salon that had opened while I was away. All the yelp reviews echoed the sentiment about their high price, but we tend to spoil our nails :) Right after we arrived, the place started to get packed and we expected a quick mani & go. To our surprise, the technician (I forget her name) didn't seem to rush at all. At first I was a little anxious that we were holding up the crowd, but as we received our mini-massages and steady mani/pedi, we were glad we chose this place. Then came the bill. We knew the price going in, but seeing the physical bill made me flinch a bit. However, I believe you pay for what you get, and the service we received that day made us feel like queens. While I can't tell you if the mani/pedi is that much better to justify the high price, I think with this place, it's all about the experience and the atmosphere. Awful experience. I frequent this salon a lot and usually have a great experience. They are very expensive but I always had (key word) a good experience. Well, today was awful. I got gel polish ($50) and after she applied the polish I noticed there were TONS of air bubbles on all my nails. This has never happened to me w/gel so I pointed it out. Clearly something was up with the polish. She tried to convince me a top coat would get rid of them- and when it didn't I asked for her to remove the gel. I said "it's not your fault but I don't want this gel on my nails with all these air bubbles". She reluctantly removed the gel and when she finished I asked for regular polish. She told me I was rude and no longer welcome. There was clearly something wrong with the polish. I specifically said "it's not your fault" but was very unhappy with how it looked. It is ludicrous to charge $50 and the polish create air bubbles all over. What bothered me most is she tried to convince me to just leave it on. She was the rude one. read more

The lady told me acrylic was illegal in New Jersey (which is NOT true, just the liquid methyl methacrylate is) so she told me I HAD to get gel.. nails came out fine had to ask to shape them more but the bill is what got me. $100 dollars! I paid 60$ for a mani pedi. The manicure lasted EXACTLY 8 MINUTES. For that price I expected a longer massage etc. she did my manicure while another tech did my pedicure. The whole mani pedi took no more than 30 mins. There are so many better places in Summit for the $. read more

Employees were very kind and did a wonderful job. I was really impressed by the cleanliness of the tools, the metal tools had been sanitized and the nail files were new, something I rarely see at other nail salons. My gel manicure was $65 which includes the tip. This was a regular, OPI color gel manicure. Nothing fancy. They let you know that the tip is included in the price which is great! BUT $65 for my cuticles to NOT be cut or to not receive a little shoulder massage after was disappointing. I do like the atmosphere much better than other local nail salons in Summit, but for the price, it was not worth it. I get a gel manicure every 2 weeks and have for years, so I didn't see this particular gel manicure worth the price compared to other salons around the corner. I was going to give 2 stars, but the manicure is nice, just not worth it. WHAT I LIKED: (1) the soothing, upscale décor and atmosphere (2) my friendly and attentive manicurist who did a great job transforming my "gardener" hands (3) the clean environment (there was no doubt in my mind about their tool sterilization practice) and (4) they are open on Sundays WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: the manicure costs $20 which was a bit pricey as compared to other nail salons in town. I have been looking for a quality nail salon that I can go to on a regular basis, and my search is over. Let me just start by stating that yes, this place is more expensive than most, but you really do pay for the experience. I opted for the spa pedicure, which set me back $80, but it does include tip (hello, no more last minute ATM scrambles for change!!). Since this place just opened, everything is brand new, and the chairs are amazing. Also, if you are a germophobe like me, rejoice!! They do not re-use any of their tools-- everything is brand new for each client. That scored major points with me. Their nail colors are pretty extensive, and it's great that they carry Dior. Most nail salons only carry O.P.I and Essie, so it was nice to see that this place has other brands too. My nail technician was very thorough and went back to clean up each toe (ladies, you know what I'm talking about) without me asking her to. Needless to say, I am loving my newly painted toes! Started great- we made an appt., they accommodated a late arrival (after we called in advance to ask) and the reception/entrance/ambiance is much more than a typical salon. We went because my friend from Bernardsville loves her town's location by the same name/owner and raved about it! We waited a bit but didn't mind, because we backed up our original appointment. The manicures were great and polish recommendations appreciated. It was upon check out was when things went wrong. My friend noticed the price of a manicure was $24 on all their menus ("New York" prices). A shock because in Bernardsville a manicure in the same salon is maybe $13/14. BUT there was a big sign out front saying 30% off. So we though ok- 30% off $24 is ok. When we check out it came to $24. We asked about 30% off, and they said "that was with The 30% off". OKAY. Misleading. My friend said, so the prices are going up? And they fumbled and said, ahh well, don't know. When they found out we'd been to the bernardsville location they said "oh yeah prices are much lower". To top it all off we tipped $5 each because we didn't want to punish the manicurists for the shady business practices, only to find out online that gratuity is included! Not at all printed anywhere in reception or told to us by the woman handing us our receipts. First- they need to check their math- online the website says a mani is $36, so 30% off is actually $25.20. Second don't put a big sign outside advertising 30% off and not share the original price. Third, $36 for a manicure- no thank you. SUMMIT- you are getting ripped off (price gauging). And the shady approach is making this place very unattractive. I can only hope this polish stays on more than 2 days. read more
