Employees good - owner not so nice and never says hello or good day. No personality. I will try another salon next week.

I have been going to Jane's for over 10 years through different owners and management. Today was my last day going there. It's unfortunate because some of the employees are good but the new manager has no hospitality skills and customer service whatsoever. Since I just had my nails done last week I just wanted a color change and was willing to pay the price for a fill-in. I was told that the fillin price was $53 - fine. So when I sat down with the nail tech, she said to me, your nails are fine. You really don't need a fill-in. How about I just do a color change? I said oh that would be great. I didn't realize that you could do that. fast-forward to when it came time to pay first the manager said $75 which included my pedicure then I said $75 and questioned it because I knew that I was just supposed to be paying for a color change. Then she replied. Oh no wait it's actually $85. I stood there in disbelief and asked her to explain what could be the extra $55 charge since I only had a color change and not a fill in and a fill in would've been $53. She struggled to come up with what it was but told me that I was paying for a gel manicure price which is the gel polish, and then because I had French that it was extra. Seems like an odd amount extra but sure. OK. If we really wanted to split hairs, I could've added that got no polish for my (15 minute) pedicure. I wish I just got the fill in so that my nails wouldn't need an actual fill in within the next week and a half. Needless to say good customer service would've been oh wait you're right that doesn't make any sense. If you had a fill-in it would've been cheaper which is also what I tried to explain to her to no avail. Thanks Janes employees for your years of service. I will never be back. A lot of the older and more experience employees have also gone to new locations. Just a note. read more

Recently under new management with an all new staff. At first glance it's a fine manicure, but the work is sloppy, not talented, and every single one of my fingers is injured from either the tools, nail file or cuticle cutting. Very impressive that they are still red and inflamed days later! Very disappointing, will be looking for a new salon. read more

The first time I came here a few months ago I had long natural nails and told her to cut them only a little. She cut them so short, just a little over the tips. It was a manicure for my vacation. A few days into my vacation the gel polish started to chip and peel. I was on vacation so I wasn't doing dishes or anything with my hands but relaxing! The next time I went back I got another gel manicure and I got it done Wednesday and by Sunday 2 nails split and the polish chipped on ends. It was a gel manicure and should have lasted more than 5 days! I am not sure what they use but my nails bent and broke easily and they were not even long! Usually gel polish adds a hard coat to my nails and they last 2 1/2 weeks. I wonder if it is cheap products or just not applied right? I won't be going back though. Also while I was there another customer came in complaining that she just had a gel manicure last week and 3 nails chipped/broke already, so it's not just me. read more

I used to come here more frequently, but the quality has been decreasing. I recently went for a mani-pedi: Pros:The pedi took about 40mins and was excellent. The chair was comfortable, and there are ample chairs so there is not often a long wait even without an appointment. There is a good color selection and the salon is clean. Cons: A regular manicure (not gel or acrylic) took almost an hour. The tools were not taken out of a new sterilized pack, but were just sitting out on the counter which means that they had not been cleaned between uses. The manicure ended up bumpy and uneven, and there was polish left on the cuticles. read more

I never, ever go out of my way to post negatively. This place was so bad I want to save others their money and time. We went for a pre vacation mani pedi, and it was horrible horrible horrible!!!! The owner was reprimanding the girl doing my daughters pedi the entire time. They told me they color matched my nails and toes, even though my toes are orange and nails are PINK. My daughters manicure is very, very bad. I do a better job myself. And 0 disrespect but, no one speaks English to voice your opinion- but meanwhile they're all making opinions about you. Absolutely horrible. We used to go all the time but they now over charge and are always changing their prices. They charged my daughter 88.00 for a gel manicure. When I said something they told me that was the normal price for gel manicures. something is wrong with this nail salon. I can not return. read more

Just left and my are too short and the dip is too thick. Nails are very uneven??? Didn't even get the shape right. I'll be surprised if the dip lasts a day since it was such a poor experience. They tricked me into giving a high tip and couldn't refuse. Very unhappy and cried on the way home. Would like a refund and longer nails. Terrible experience. DO NOT COME HERE!! read more

Jane's has gone way down hill since the recent ownership change. The old technicians are largely gone and the new ones are not as good. The place is also very poorly run with long wait times even with an appointment. After over 20 years, I will need to find a new place. read more

I think it really depends on who you get. The CoVid procedures were on point . But I didn't like the young lady who did my pedicure. She was talking the entire time with the practitioners who were more focused on their clients , but politely answers her. When j asked her to add my heel in massage cause of a pain and not just quickly run up and down with such light pressure , she asked me if i wanted to pay for a massage. The pedicures as $25 and it is something I have always been included everywhere I went. I opted to get my manicure elsewhere. The manager was sweet. The woman I had complete forgot about me when it came to putting my quick dry oil . They aren't using the fans for drying anymore so they have you sit for two minutes, then she is supposed to come back to put oil on to save pedi. Omg!!!!! Please beware of this place. I called to make an appointment for a full set short length gel color $70, and yes that's correct $70 no design, no French tip nothing just a basic color. I'm not sure why they charge so much for a full set or nails and general when there pictures online look like just about every other nail shop in the hood. read more

My friend and I had pedicures at Jane's Nails yesterday. The service was ok. But I was annoyed that they have you use hand gel, and wear a mask only to find that more than half of the ladies giving the pedicures aren't wearing their masks. A mask doesn't work if you wear it on your chin! read more

Jane's nail is a great place. I really loved their service and work. The staff was really kind and friendly and they had a lot of varieties to choose for the nail designs and colors. It was so hard to choose. I wish I could go everyday and change my nail colors and designs. :) They really did a wonderful job!! Price was also very reasonable, too. Terrible experience with a hel manicure. I said don't cut my nails, she cut them down to little stumps. I asked for square, she did squoval, and crooked. I had to file them down even further to correct that when i got home. A huge gap was left between the paint and my cuticle. The technician did fix that when I complained but seemed pretty put out. The First time i went there i asked for powder gel french manicure. Disgusting, rude, cold as ice! Scheduled a pedicure and let the receptionist know I'm in a wheelchair. Wish she had said "we aren't the place for you" because they weren't! Nobody made any effort to assist me or my husband and when the two behind the desk stared at us with obvious displeasure because we were taking too long to leave (my polish was wet and smeared!), one came over and dropped quick dry drops on each toe (really?)and scurried away as if to say NOW GO! So off we went and as we struggled to get the door open I saw this same woman scurry over and I thought "nice! She's going to help with the door!" Instead she snapped YOU DID NOT PAY! Unhygienic and unpleasant. Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy, so they wanted us in and out as quickly as possible and it was obvious. Manicure started chipping on Monday, got such a bad infection from the pedicure that even the podiatrist was surprised. Cheap mani pedi now costing me 2 copays. Not worth it. read more

I periodically have gone to this nail salon due to its convenient location and good work. However, sometimes the customer service is lacking especially my most recent experience. No complaints about the quality of the pedicure or gel manicure but their attitude regarding tipping. I was told my tip was too little for the workers! The deal from Monday-Wednesday is great and 100% worth it. Yes, it can be a bit crowded/cramped in there, but everything is clean and they don't rush to get to more customers. This continues to be my go to salon. Have been a customer for almost 8 years. The service is consistent and the I can't really ask for anything more. The girls are kind and do a good job on nails. The owner doesn't bark at the staff like I have seen at many other salons. The place is clean. I rarely, if ever, have a wait. I typically visit Mon - Thurs. not sure if weekends are different. Once I had a few days to get over my Soprano's-style nail salon experience, I realized this place was actually quite a good deal. $25 mani-pedi on Wednesdays (I think?)... and we are talking spa mani/pedi. Be prepared to wait a WHILE unless you have an appointment. Even at 3:00 on a Wednesday, my sister and I, though we were taken almost immediately, couldn't sit together in this 30-chair establishment. However, they did a very nice job and only use Essie products (my favorite), which makes it as nice as any of the BlissSpas I've been to and paid twice the price for. My go to place for pedicures. I love it here - the place is clean and comfortable. I never have an appointment and have never had to wait long (5-10 minutes) sometimes they can take me right away. All the girls do a great job - huge selection of polishes. All the girls are great, I love the foot massage - best part! I heard one girl today ask for an extra long foot massage, I'm not sure if that adds to your cost, but it would be well worth looking into! I have gotten manicures here too a few times and they are nice but don't come close to the pedi experience. Jane's is an efficiently-run business that is always booked up (best to call ahead even if it's 5-10 minutes than walk in; although if you DO walk in, they'll do their best to accommodate you). Their pedicures and thorough and will leave you feeling refreshed. Their gel manis are well done too. Their goal is to get your services done, then out, so don't expect a lot of handholding or relaxation time. But they get the job done and do it well! read more

This place always exceeds my expectations. The deco and atmosphere is far nicer than most nail salons at the same price point. They have a large selection of colors and although I just did french nails they have many different options for longer lasting polishes. I had a spa pedicure as well which included a scrub and a leg massage. I actually made an appointment for nail polish only because I was in a hurry to go to airport. But they said I can get mani and pedi at the same time and I did! My nails look so great and they were very friendly and quick. I even got a chair massage while my pedi was getting perfectly dried. All staff is so attentive and professional. The salon got busy so quickly so definitely come early or make an appointment if possible. When I go back to Madison I stop in here with my mom, aunts, sister... but it has definitely gone from a great nail spot to a run of the mill place with disgruntled women speaking in Spanish about their pedicure clients - some of us understand you, chicas - and it's not nice all the time. I will say the gel manicures here are excellent and last a long time. The female masseuse does a great job and doesn't hold back. I was pleased that a soak to remove my old gel was included in the price, as some other places I've gone will charge you extra to remove the old gel polish. The staff was courteous, efficient and QUIET - I know some people like to chat, but I don't want to engage in forced conversation. But that's just me. Love this place!! I drive 20 minutes out of my way to get to Janes Nails. They take their time and always do a good job. I have uv gel nails which do take longer than the regular opi gel manicure but they last for over two weeks. It doesn't matter which person you get, they all do a fantastic manicure and I have never felt rushed even when they are packed. I highly recommend this nail salon! read more

Have been going for years , new owners took over 2 years ago. Husband & wife, soMe times he say hello , she never ! I have been noticing lately they do not treat the pedicure ladies very nicely , most of which are Spanish speaking , all very sweet ! I happen to be there late one night , they close at 7pm ! All of the pedicure ladies were all cleaning the salon for closing . I was very upset to see the manicurist who are Asian , so are the owners sat and counted their money ! Did not lift a finger to any cleaning . Such unfair treatment! After many years I will not return. Been going here for a year and really appreciate their consistency. It's very clean, beautifully decorated with a friendly and talented staff. They carry every color of OPI, CNDC and Essie. Wednesdays they have a $25 manicure and pedicure special. I get gel on my nails for $35 and it lasts for 3 weeks. The pedicures for $20 are fantastic and takes a good 45 minutes with their scrubs and massages. Peter or Carol are the best for gel manicures and Deanna or Melany are great for pedicures. I like that they have several TVs with the food network channel on, it's a nice way to pass time! For Christmas they gifted frequent customers like me a free pedicure voucher and cute calendar. I have been going to Jane's Nails for Years & Years. I have always thought the Owners to be completely Indifferent with No Personality at all. The Staff dresses atrociously..... Tattoos & tight tops, usually low cut and in poor taste. Each time I sit for a Pedicure; the tub is dirty and i sit there while they spray a dab of bleach & Swish it around a few times. It should be CLEAN when I sit down. The Garbage cans are filthy & they refill the lotion bottles with no name brands. The little dishes that we soak our hands in were stacked on the shelf without being washed or sanitized. They make a lot of money there & there is no reason it should be run so poorly with NO attention to detail I am looking for a NEW Place that is clean and appreciates my hard earned money. read more
