The location is close to all the shops in downtown Pasadena, and the salon itself is super relaxing especially after a long work week. I had a haircut and full highlight with Sara back in October and meant to leave a review right after because she knocked it out of the park! She took my temperature to go inside the building and there was only one other client and hairstylist in the suite for half of my visit - the rest of the time was just the two of us both wearing masks. She also had the door open and wiped down all of the equipment before I sat on the chair or the chair for the sink. Sara did an amazing job with my highlight, I brought in three pictures that were all kind of different to my untrained eye and she managed to get my hair exactly the shade of blonde that I wanted. This was by far the best highlight I've ever gotten. It took a full three hours and the quality really shows! Plus my hair still felt healthy after, not all dried out like some highlights have left it. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair and so many people have said how natural it looks, which is a huge compliment to Sara that they couldn't even tell it was not my real color. I was so impressed with the whole experience and my haircut turned out great too. Definitely recommend Sara and this salon in general to anyone who wants a great hair experience. I struggled a lot on whether or not to write this review. The stylist that I saw (Sara) was super nice, so I didn't want to say anything at first. But I think a lot of times when people have a bad hair experience, they just get it fixed and not say anything. And it's ultimately all the good reviews here that led me to book an appointment. I went in for a hair cut. I explained in detail the last hair cut that I had that I loved, and what the stylist did. I asked for a slightly below the shoulder cut with two strands in the front being the shortest layer, and then a straight cut for the rest that was wispy and texturized on the bottom with some layers. I mentioned several times that I wanted the hair wispy, since my hair looks bad with a blunt cut. The cut seemed to be going well at first, but, when it got to the texturizing step, something went very wrong. The pictures speak for themselves. The strands of my hair are not beautiful wisps that shape the hair (my last haircut barely needed any styling), but rather just piecey and messy. Some of the pieces are cut very bluntly. The back is just a big blob of hair. And the front is horribly uneven. I don't know what happened. This is not just the fact that I didn't quite get the haircut I wanted (which I didn't), it's about the execution. If this was a $20 haircut, I might tell myself that I got what I paid for, but with tip, I paid $120. Again, Sara is super nice and this is nothing personal, but I think a stylist should take great care when cutting someone's hair and should be meticulous, especially at that price point. I had spent 2 years growing my hair out and was super excited to get it cut. Instead, I have to wear my hair in a ponytail for the majority of my vacation since I didn't have time to get it fixed. A very disheartening experience. read more

I've come to Jane twice now to tone my hair and I've loved the results both times. When I first went to her, I had a balayage that was straight up yellow but with the toner & purple shampoo upkeep, it's actually looked decent. I did another toner session today and this time she made it more ashy, and I wish my hair could stay like this forever! Also shout out to Sarah(?) who curled my hair so prettily! I love that Jane asks what your hair goals are and is completely honest when I ask her what she thinks about certain styles. Maintenance is huge for me and I like that she always mentions what the maintenance is going to be like because if I'm going to have to come back to the salon every two months for a root touch-up, it's not the hair for me. $85 flat (tip included) for toning. Year 2 or 3 going to Jane and just saw her new spot! After a year of COVID grow out, I was ready to be blonde again. When I came to Jane, I told her I needed to keep my length AND be as blonde as possible. Jane reassured me that I had to get a cut if I wanted to be blonde (very blonde) again without ruining my progress in hair growth. She found middle ground for my priorities of length and blondness and set me expectations for what can be done without jeopardizing both. I communicated back and forth with Jane and she gave me thorough instructions on what the pricing was going to be and how to get to the salon. My experience at the salon was great!
