The Hobo Chicken with steak fries
    Thomas L.

April 25, 2023 - There have been a few changes at the Jamison Pour House since my previous review in 2015 (8 years!!!) on a personal level our close friend Brian has passed away 2 weeks ago from cancer. He was a regular here with hundreds of friends. We came by for nostalgic reasons after flying up from Florida. We used to live locally when this was Reece's Tavern in the 1992 to 2004 timeframe. New ownership, new paint, some windows I think, not too busy. we were seated quickly and knew a few folks as well. The girls both got The Hobo a crispy chicken sandwich and one with steak fries and the other with a side of grilled vegetables. Both thought they were good and enjoyable. a little bit too much breading and fried coating on the chicken but it was tasty. 8/10 I got the Grilled Veggies sandwich without the sharp cheese. This had a GREAT roll that was by itself a good product. The veggies were not too greasy and grilled and had some nice spice and taste. the side salad was varied vegetables and fresh with a simple but nice balsamic vinaigrette. 9/10 The drinks for all were decent size for the costs and well constructed. Service was fantastic and we enjoyed ourselves completely. Still a good spot after all these years. We toasted to our friend to thousands, father and husband. RIP Brian Galvin

This place offers plenty of outdoor seating for those who aren't ready to dine indoors. Oh and frozen drinks, i.e. Miami vice, mango margarita, orange crush to name a few... don't mind if I do on a hot summer day.

Ribs were dry, little attention to detail. Here for a charity event and the greatest act of charity was trying to eat the food.

Mike the bartender is a great guy. Excellent beer selection and tasty bar food. A fun place to kill a Sunday afternoon.

Rolled up garage type external walls so totally open air when we went. Only tiny complaint was the sparkling wine used in the Aperol spritzes came from a tap and was a bit flat.

Quite empty on a Wednesday afternoon at 4:30. I assume they get a younger crowd that works and comes later (we are retired). The happy hour menu impressed us. Speciality cocktails normally $15-ish were only $9. That got our attention. Plus $5 appetizers. Never see lemon drop martini, manhattan and expresso martinis on happy hour afterall. And those were our picks (3 of us). We were celebrating Mom's 93 birthday. For the $5. appetizers we picked pork spring rolls, potato chip nachos, and mozzarella sticks. The chips were the winner. BUT "never" get the spring rolls. Two very disappointing , tiny spring rolls that had a microscopic amount of pork. It was pathetic. Not even worth it for $5. I would stay away from those. Silly only two on the plate and there were 3 of us. Too small to share. Our server was efficent and sweet. She added to a nice happy hour. We enjoyed playing a few rounds of table shuffle board. Nice addition. The best part of our happy hour was a friendly couple (we just met them) at the bar surprised us and paid for a round of drinks since they heard it was my Mom's 93 birthday!! That surely made her day extra special and memorable.

They have three seating options- their inside bar area, an outdoor covered area, and an inside dining room. We sat in their dining room which was nice until more guests came in and it became increasingly harder to carry a normal conversation. That aside, the staff was super nice, attentive, and great with menu suggestions. Now the food- damn (excuse the language). The portions were HUGE (the sticky rice bowl easily could have fed two people) and delicious. We ordered the tempura green beans side as an appetizer along with the bangin' shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was in a more cornmeal-like batter versus a tempura based you would have expected but good nonetheless. And you can't go wrong with tempura green beans with various dipping sauces. For entrees, the turkey reuben was crispy yet saucy, paired with coleslaw, grapes and pickles. The sticky rice bowl was packed with all your favorites and topped with crispy wonton chips (yum). Coupled with a trio of sauces, you also have eight protein options to select from. Aside from the noise level, good experience overall. Side note for new guests- the entrance is in the back, up a long ramp, NOT on the street side.

As for our meal simply delicious. Their roasted cauliflower is awesome. Drinks were on point. My only complaint is that the rooms are loud with a lot of echo so when in the area we were seated it was tough to hear as much. Otherwise I like the ambiance. I've been here a handful of times and I need to start making over here more often.

They also have really nice outdoor grounds that are open in warmer weather. There are nice views and you can see for miles. The beer is in line with any top tier craft brewery and they offer a wide variety of beer styles with at lease 24 on draft at any given time and most are available in cans to go too. The staff are wonderful and knowledgeable too. My only criticism is that they don't allow dogs or offer flights, or serve beer in glass (only plastic cups) nor do they offer any beer size smaller than 16oz. You can ask for tastes and they will be happy to allow you to sample all of the draft beer. I just with you could order a 6 or 8oz.
