Visited here for the first time. Service was good and food tasted good. Our server was on point and no complaints for any staff. However the 3% surcharge for using a card as payment is the biggest cheapskate stuff I've seen in a while. This isn't some little hole in the wall 4 table cafe or something. The policy according to the restaurant was in place well before COVID hit so that's not the excuse. It's called operating costs, the price of doing business. When you take your car to a mechanic they charge you for parts and labor, they don't also charge a fee because they had to use tools to fix it. BS policy plain and simple. read more

We sat at the bar for the football games and to eat. The place was packed but there was no waiting. The atmosphere was a lot of fun (not just because of the games) and we were so glad we went there. The servers were very attractive, attentive and dressed for game day. Our food came out really quick. The chicken nachos were definitely my favorite and my husband loved the sliders. We are from out of town and were looking for a relaxed place for dinner. As soon as we walked in the door the hostess told us that it would be almost a 20-30 minute wait for food. We were fine with the wait and sat outside. Our waitress also let us know that food would take a while. We ordered our meal and not even 10 minutes later our food was out. The cuban was amazing and the waitress gave us a respectable amount of time to just hang out. Highly recommend!! read more

To be honest I'm never going here and ever recommending this place after I heard the type of service my fiancée and her friends were treated with. I've worked in Sales and customer service my whole career and currently I work with business owners to improve/drive traffic and performance. This is the complete opposite of what owners want out of their employees and is damaging to their reputation. The fact that this employee Michelle let it be known that she was singling out my fiancée and her group by being purposely rude, disrespectful, and obvious that she didn't want to help them, to just turn around to be friendly and courteous to her other customers says something else. Do yourself a favor, avoid Jameson's Charhouse in Joliet, or which ever one you patronize, one of the worst dining experiences I ever had last night, a waitress with an attitude from the time we sat down, brought everything all at once, sub par food, steaks too tough to eat, not hot, soups very bland, bartender that screw up a vodka on the rocks with pineapple, and here's the kicker, there was a surprise charge at the bottom of my bill for a 3% service charge if you pay with debit or credit card, no warning at all, I objected to the charge, restaurants are not allowed to charge a surcharge for debit cards, incompetent manager came and started arguing with me that I had to pay it, $3.85 , he would not take off the bill, he would rather lose a customer, I will never eat at this restaurant again. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Food was terrible and manager was a jerk when I called to tell them the buffalo wings were rubbery and wayyyyy too spicy! And I actually eat spicy food. The main issue with the shrimp was that they were over cooked and rubbery. He told me that my carry out order was my problem because I should not have taken them out of there. I explained to him that I asked for the sauce on the side. The manager proceeds to give me the example of if I went to mcdonaldsllvlllll. Yelp asks us to be understanding before posting a review during COVID, maybe the restaurant should take ALL of their patrons into consideration during COVID, too. Not one employee of this restaurant was wearing a mask, last I checked COVID was still pretty strong in our area. While there were plenty of servers, ours was far from attentive. Half of the appetizers we ordered were bland, and the burger had a horrible aftertaste. Best part was the 3% fee I was charged for using my debit card, especially when they overcharge for almost every item on the Menu, surely they can afford to cover that 3% fee. Most people use charge or debit these days, especially with a coin shortage & I would have been happy to pay cash, but wouldn't have had enough to leave my server a tip. 3.5 stars but all the negative reviews made me round up out of pity. We went strictly for the food and there was no nightlife event going on. The service was great! Our waitress, Stella had a diminished eastern European accent and was totally on point. Beverages never got below half way and she was super friendly. We started with nachos and they were pretty good. I was impressed by the fresh jalepenos. Then we thought since this was our first time we'd try the title burger, "the jamenson burger". This is a whole pound burger on a mega bun, clearly this was the after cooked weight because this burger was as big as my head (see photo). Ah, Jameson's. We live within about half a mile of this bar, so we've gone a few times when friends are in town or someone wants to go to a bar. As Joliet bars go, I'd give most of them one star, so the two stars is actually a complement. The population is mostly single early twenty-somethings who want to rub up on another single person and get wasted. Not a depressing bar full of aging alcoholics, so that's a plus around here! The food is OK...better than most bars around here! The music is LOUD. Like, nightclub loud, not bar loud. Forget having a conversation if you're there after about 8pm. The waitresses are mostly interested in helping men who will tip profusely because of skimpy clothes. A coed group? You might get refills. You might not. Here's what confuses me. Like I said, I live half a mile from there. We don't generally hear the music, but every once in awhile on like a Wednesday or Thursday night, we'll hear it loud and clear, every word, through closed windows. What's up with that, Jameson's? If it were the weekend, I'd accept that it's all part of living near a bar, but why in the middle of the week, and no other time? Full disclosure: I'm already irritated because because the beer selection is so poor. I asked, "What beer do you have?" The waitress replied, "OMG, soooo many beers!! Like, HUNDREDS of bottles!" So I said, "Great! How about something Polish?" And she responded, "Uhh.. No. What Polish beers even are there?" So I said, "How about something local?" Her: *shaking head slowly* "Uhhh... NO?" Went here with friends who go all the time, I'm not sure why. We had a slow waitress even though the place was more then half empty. The food was okay, nothing great but not bad. The music was deafening and terrible unless of course you went there thinking it was a rave. Seriously all it needed was black lights and glow sticks. I'm reviewing lunch here*** Good service, not to crowded, great food both times I've been in the last few weeks. First time I had buffalo chicken sandwich which was awesome. Just lightly fried, soaked in sauce, and I had the blue cheese on it instead of the ranch. I like they have cottage cheese as an option for a side. You don't find that very often anymore. This place is something else. I don't really know how to describe it. But it's not too good. $5 to get in. Not off to a good start. $5 to get into some okay bar in Joliet. I'm assuming it was for the band that was playing but still I don't think it was worth it. Don't get me wrong, I love bars that have live music, but if it's just an okay band playing a bunch of mediocre covers, it can be kind of annoying. The best part about this place was the prices. Jameson's pub is a decent place to go to hang with a group of friends. The atmosphere changes depending on which night of the week you are there. It gets pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights, slower during the week, and dead on Sunday night. The food is good. The wraps are delicious. The steak is below average and not worth the money. The appetizers are average. The service is slow. Drinks are often left empty for a lengthy amount of time, leaving you to debate whether you should go up to the bar... even on those Sunday nights. Also, on the busy nights, it's good to know the bartenders. The newly painted and decorated walls make for a more warm and friendly environment. It's a nice touch.
