Forgot to leave a review when I had my car serviced 2 weeks ago. So here it goes: I first contacted James Mobile Auto Repair a few days before my actual service. The heater in my Honda CR-V stopped working. Brought my car in at 8:30am. They diagnosed it in one hour and repairs were done shortly after. They were very clear about pricing and even kept me up to date via text/e-mail. Prices are definitely reasonable compared to the Honda dealership. I would definitely recommend this company. Had went in January of this year for my right arm being bent they said that they fixed it charged me about almost $1000. It was never fixed. I know now because when I went to a mechanic recently for the same problem, I'm having they told me it's bent and never replaced and that my ball joint was never replaced as well They told me at Jameses auto repair when I had went the week after they fixed my vehicle that it was still giving me the same problems and they told me my tires were warped when I had barely bought the tires. read more

I had to wait a while longer than usual due to COVID to have my Mustang looked at by James and the team. They corrected the problem, the car ran well for a while but stalled shortly after. James personally responded to my call and even put out a small fire with a fuel-rich carburetor. I will continue to bring the car in his shop for the attention to detail and willingness to work on a classic car. Not many shops anymore have the expertise or desire to work on older cars. read more

This is the second vehicle I've taken to them. I took it in for an oil change I tune up and I've just checked the truck out in general. They were very good about keeping me up-to-date on what they found and what the  cost to fix it would be. When we finally agreed on what to fix they kept to their estimate there were no hidden costs  Ended up having a valve cover gasket leaking and some front end work needed to be done.  Ended up cost me $1600 For all the work they did and all the parts that's a really good deal if I would have this done somewhere else it probably would jave cost me 3 grand or more So I'm very happy with there  service and I will continue to use them read more

These guys are freaking amazing. They were able to get me on my way from a stubborn brake job. After driving through 3 states, my brakes were rusted pretty damn good. They managed to get all 4 rotors completed prior to the 2hrs of labor. For the value of work and great customer service I highly recommend them. read more

James and his crew (out of Visalia) are amazing! So I've never used a mobile automotive repair. But my son's car was not drivable at the moment so I did a google search and found a couple mobile automotive repair companies. I called both left a message with 1 and the other which was James' business immediately answered my questions and scheduled a time which was within hours. James showed up with his helper and got right to work on the car. James informe us there were some other issues with the car and that he could return on the weekend to fix them if we'd like. We scheduled him to come back and sure enough he was at our house this Saturday 06/06/20. He and his helper once again began their work and within a few hours the car was fixed. The car is running good and my son is happy to have his car back! James is a nice and professional down to earth guy. His prices are reasonable and in fact a bit cheaper than if we'd had the repairs done at a local shop. read more

These guys are total jerks and rip offs. I don't know how they can call their self a Mechanic . i'm a senior citizen and disabled. I had my car towed down. There was a 2002 Chevy trailblazer it wouldn't start. They charged me $125 to diagnose then $337 to put in a fuel pump I went down to pick it up and paid them. They gave me the keys... It wouldn't start he told me obviously it started because they drove it from the shop to the parking lot he told me it would cost me $125 for them to diagnose yet again why it wouldn't start. I called AAA they tow it to a REAL repair shop $359 later and a computer started up and ran like a 4.2 liter trailblazer is supposed to. Best advice I could give anyone is STAY AWAY From James mobile auto repair... Unless you have more money than brains than you don't mind just throwing it away. As far as I'm concerned, they're just licensed thieves. I won't even give them one star... EXCEPT for the fact, I have to give them one to get this review posted. After blowing a tire and calling for a tow I was taken to James mobile auto repair. Worst experience of my life. I was lied to about the entire process and ended up getting ripped off beyond belief. The first lie was: for your type of car they only sell tires in sets of two, so even though you only have one flat you'll need to buy two. The second lie was: there's also a tire pressure sensor that needs to be replaced, only to tell me the next day that the sensor isn't something they can fix. I call them at 4pm Friday to see when the car will be ready and they tell me, it's ready and we close in an hour. If you don't pick up the car today we charge $50/day storage and you'll owe us an extra $150 on Monday. I pray he goes out of business quickly. He is the exact type of person that gives mechanics a bad name. Hard to imagine someone being more dishonest than this guy was. Ripped me off and didn't even fix my car. I called James Mobile Auto Repair at 0800. Brent returned my call by 0810. I was already at my work place. I explained my concern about my alternator and that I was unable to bring my car because I am at work. Quickly (within the hour) two very professional and polite men came to my workplace parking lot, assessed my car, gave me a quote. I suggested and allowed them to take my car back to the shop (they can perform repairs mobile, it was offered) while I work. They took it to their shop local (downtown Visalia) I had my car back before 12pm. All of my concerns were addressed. My parts were replaced as we discussed. No surprises, no hidden fees, very straight forward. I'm very pleased. I still have get to go out to lunch and my car is repaired! SCORE! FIVE STARS for these guys. Very convenient experience for me. They were very professional and I felt comfortable. I drive my small child in my car daily & I explained to them that safety is my priority and they made sure we wouldn't end up stranded in a crappy situation. 10/10 would use this service again and recommend. read more

I took my car to this place and they look it over and took the cars details. I waited for an hour and didn't want to wait anymore so I took an Uber home. Then they call me some time latter to tell me they thought they had the stuff need but now know they don't. So I wasted a whole day without my car. We brought my husbands classic car, unfortunately it will take several days longer then expected. However, within reason, we don't need the car back immediately and it is not priority at the moment. Plus, there is a holiday in between. I do have to mention that we had originally mentioned that we would need to tow it there and the receptionist failed to recommend that they have their own towing services. We could have saved the $95 with another company and patronized their own establishment. So For anyone else, please ask if they're available to help with towing in addition to. First they towed me to their shop and fixed my cat. They did such a good no bs job that I came back when I couldn't figure out what was the problem with my Honda CR-V. Evap sensor code p1457 has a lot of things they could be wrong. They did a smoke test everything looked good. So bret or Brent, I didn't hear him when he said his name to someone on the phone.., said he thinks it might be a cylinder stuck open. Sure enough after getting a new gas cap I took it back in and they checked the part it was stuck. So got a new one and fixed my engine light. Just in time to get my car smogged and re registered. Took my truck in and told them what was wrong(fuel pump). 10 days later they called and convinced me it was something else. I agreed to the repairs trusting their 'professional' opinion(which cost $100). After the repair they called back and told me the fuel pump is now the issue... obviously! I ended up paying over $400 plus towing fees to be told the same thing I had told them 10 days earlier when dropping the truck off. I spent the weekend changing the pump myself for $130. I can not believe for one second that the mechanic who diagnosed my truck has any certification or professional training at all. You'd be better off finding a mechanic on Craigslist. At the very least they should have waived the diagnosis fee since it was wrong, coupled with the fact that I had already properly diagnosed it myself and specifically informed them where the leak was coming from. read more

I was made to feel very unsafe the moment I walked in and upon talking to the owner that feeling only worsened unfortunately. I didn't get any of the assistance I needed and left with many regrets. Luckily I was at home when my truck decided not to start. I called James mobile auto repair and they came out to diagnose within 30 minutes. I was amazed by their response time. They immediately diagnosed the problem and told me they could have it ready for me the same afternoon. With their expertise they were able to get it started to take it back to their shop instead of me having to get it towed. They even brought it back to my house when they were finished. I believe the price was reasonable considering their response rate and awesome customer service. I was also happy to learn that they guarantee their work for a year. if you want your car fixed or an answer to a problem with no difficulty do NOT go here. paid 100 for a diagnostic as one does, let him know i already knew the codes that were popping up and told him i had an idea of what it could be. he finshed the diagnostic and tells me what it COULD be never gave an exact answer told me what i already knew and the only clear takeaway he had was that the engine was soon going to blow because of the problem and told i should just sell it. i later went to another mechanic for a second diagnostic figured out it was the timing chain and i paid the same amount for their service. waste of money at this place TERRIBLE read more

So far I'm pretty happy with the service I'm am receiving from this shop. Have been helpful and didn't have to wait 3 weeks for an appointment. I informed him I needed my car for work without it I an unable to perform my job, so no car no income. He had me bring my car down to them right away, even apologized that there is no mobile service at this time due to shortage of employees. Not being able to find people that would rather work then stay home and collect unemployment (That is my belief as to way there's a shortage of employees not the reason he stated). He was straight forward as far as cost, Did NOT mark up the price for the parts I needed replaced, I did my homework before taking in my car and called 3 different parts stores to get a list of how much the parts would cost for me to go in and buy them myself . SURPRISINGLY the price he charge me was dead on not one penny over the actual price. I am quiet happy with the shop as of now, my car is still being repaired I'll post an update But they were nothing but helpful, friendly and approachable guys. Did not brush my questions off or act like I was wasting there time. Felt welcome and VERY VERY SAFE in this shop. Where to start? We broke down on Hwy 99 near Tipton. Our travel trailer needed new wheel bearings. Waited 5 hours for a tow and then when the tow truck arrived, he didn't have the equipment necessary to tow us. We happened to call James Mobile RV Repairs and it's a good thing that we did. James headed right over to assess the repair. He called me on the way to give me his eta and kept me informed of when he would be there. He had go get parts and since it was so late in the day, we had to wait until the next morning, but, James started right away at 8:00 am to get our parts. He came immediately and did our repair in record time. On the road again and couldn't be happier. I can't say enough about his professionalism, his skill and his customer service.
